For some reason, I was under the impression we were looking at a signing class of about 20. (I think we lose something like 14 seniors?) With the number of commitments to date, and apparently a few more in the wings, there must have been a number of 'unpublicized' departures from last fall's team. I am aware of the two players who were dropped last fall, and the transfer of Foster, but does anyone know how many other players have departed?

Yes, Rush is the brother of Bailey Milne. Hearing Rush will visit this weekend, wouldnt surprise me if he commits.
Not sure on the departures, havent heard anything other than the ones weve talked about.

It could very well be from the Joe Glenn era departures as a whole. Seems like there were a good handful of guys dismissed the first year for academics or off field issues which may have freed up room. Also, FCS programs can have up to 63 full scholarships or divided up to 85 players receiving some sort of institutional scholarship aid. Obviously without being inside the program, its hard to know the actual breakdown of what we had available for scholly's and which of the freshmen are getting full rides/partial rides.

Agreed, it is hard to tell. There are also cases where players sustain injuries that force them to stop playing. Ie sean Glenn In other news, Darruis Sheperd is going to ndsu. That one hurts I also find it interesting that we do not have a single commit from state of Minnesota. NDSU/SDSU/UNI have anywhere from 15 to 30 players on their roster from Minnesota. We currently have 4 and all of them contribute (3 next year). In the past we had anywhere from 8-12 players from Minnesota on the roster. I realize we have shifted focus to the OK/MO/KS area, but wouldn't mind seeing at least 1 recruit from Minnesota.

Van Ginkle is a multi talented FB player! Will be interesting to see where the Yotes use him. Can play WR, S, LB and wildcat QB. Is 6'4" and 190. Great quickness/speed and can make you miss and also has a knack for making ints.

Van Ginkel will be a stud! Tyler Starr like sleeper! I think he will be an outside backer at some point. Has a nice frame to put on some weight.
I see Brandon Snyder chose NDSU over Iowa tonight. Would rather see him in black and gold than green and gold!

Andrew VanGinkle's highlights are flat out ridiculous. They must have been dousing the kid in baby-oil before some of those games. Thanks for posting that link again Eddie. Forget OLB, I think we could have found a potential QB in this kid. Great addition to an already loaded class of new talent.
