Single game football tickets will go on sale tomorrow for the 2013 football season. If you or someone you know would like to purchase tickets to the SDSU game, only Howling Pack members will be able to purchase tickets in the priority seating sections.
Non Howling Pack members wishing to attend the State game must purchase tickets to the Indiana State game on October 12th as part of a 2-pack game deal. These seats however will be located in all sections outside of the priority seating areas.
The idea behind this is simple; start bringing more value to being a member of the Howling Pack. If you haven't joined yet, you can do so by calling Mark Maturi with Coyote Athletics. If you know someone who should join, get them to do so. So far membership and dollars raised in 2013 are on pace to break another record. Go Yotes!

No reason for Jacks fans who purchase tickets, if any are available, to keep the ISU-B ticket unless said purchaser truly plans to go the Indiana State game.

Oh boy. Went through this last season with the NDSU game. While I hate these kinds of tricks (reminds of Iowa State requiring season ticket purchases in order to get a ticket for the Iowa or Nebraska game) I understand why they are done. The downside is the Indiana State game will end up being poorly attended like what happened witht he NDSU/Colgate combo pack last season.
Many of the NDSU fans returned their Colgate tickets and requested they be donated to kids' groups, etc. I thought that was a great. Maybe SDSU fans would do the same...or come down and watch the Yotes beat Ind St.

I don't like this move at all. I do agree we need to improve Howling Pack membership and keep the opponent out of our stadium, but the key motive behind this move is to make it so that SDSU fans would have to pay $60 to get into the game.

kulawjack, I would think the ticket office would gladly take your tickets to the Indiana State game if you were planning on only attending the State game.

I don't really understand why they don't do a pickem game so it'd hopefully spread out the empty seats. Let the consumer maybe pick between 3 games that wont be as well attended. What if you're really a USD fan and you can't make the ISU-Blue game? I think it's a bad move by the USD admins.

I would have liked for USD to not open up non-season ticket sales until game day for the first half of the season. If someone wanted advanced guaranteed tickets, buy season tickets or show up early on game-day.
Open up sales for individual tickets to the SDSU game on D-Days weekend only to in-person sales. Set up ticket sales out in the tailgate area and outside the Dome. Go with that (in-person sales) for two weeks and then open up phone orders.
I really think this could have been done better. The AD staff will most likely claim success pointing to two "sold-out" games. In reality the result will be an SDSU game with roughly 40% of the crowd in blue, and an Indiana St game with 40% empty seats.

I've been meaning to get back to this thread. Weeks after this game was sold out in 48 hours I have received emails from the ticket office that single game SDSU tickets were still for sale and available to season ticket holders and Howling Pack members. I don't know if this is still the case but it seems to me the administration did the smart thing and held tickets back with the intent they get into the hands of USD fans.
Anyone know what the story is here?

The university will sell USD v SDSU tickets after halftime on game days. You have to be in person to purchase (no phone-ins). That should have been the plan from the start. SDSU fans purchased many of the tickets released. Dykhouse purchased 400 by himself. If USD fans don't get with it, the main grandstand will be half blue. There are at least 1000 estimated tickets sold so far to probable SDSU fans. That is why the AD stopped sales and held back the rest, otherwise they would be gone.
If there are still tickets available after D-Days they will open up sales via phone for the rest. Hope Yote fans step it up.

Despite waivering on the direction of the program I got my season tickets for this season. I just bought them last week and got my SDSU ticket that way as well. This season with 6 home games and all good ones, it is definitely the right season to get the season tickets.

Don't want to get into a pissing match over 100 tickets, but I believe the Dykhouse family purchased 500.
