I set up a poll on this thread to predict the outcome. Take a few seconds to vote. This game should tell all of us a lot more about USD's progress. Road game against a team that has been a consistent high-middle Big Sky team. They are coming off an exceptional year in 2012.

Sorry to have to vote that NAU wins by more than 10. They could contend in the Big Sky this season. Will the Yotes by able to handle the elevation? Lumberjacks 28 Coyotes 17. NAU scores a late TD to seal the game. Yotes play well and continue to improve toward '14' and '15'.
I'm excited that I am going to be able to attend. It has been awhile since I have been to a game. Does anyone know if there is any "U" social events planned for either Phoenix or Flagstaff. I think they tail-gate pretty good up there and I would expect the weather to be pretty good. There is a car show in Sedona going on earlier in the day. I'm gonna hit that on my way to Flag.
Let's Go South Dakota!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Mr. OBC! I really hope I am wrong about my prediction. A win on Saturday would be very large for this team. I hope the 'tailgate' is fun.
Go Yotes!

It looks like there might be a live feed on NAU TV of this game.

Sagarin has the Lumberjacks as about a two touchdown favorite.

Sagarin has the Lumberjacks as about a two touchdown favorite. I think that is a fair spread. I would guess this game is going to be another one of those defensive battles. I will pick the Lumberjacks 21-10.

Spread started at 17.5 this morning. Us sharps (hahaha!) jumped all over those points and brought it down to 16, where it is currently. I'm no expert, but it seems to me the yotes are equal to or slightly better than UC Davis (after all we beat them at home by 3, which is what home field is worth). UC Davis had N Arizona beat for 3+ quarters. So, this seems like a lot of points to me. Hopefully I don't realize why on Saturday night......

I'm solidly behind the coaching staff and hope the players bring a "refuse to lose" attitude to the game. Not sure our yotes have the offensive punch or special teams execution to get the job done. I'll be satisfied if we score over 21 points regardless of the outcome.

Quote from Mick Garry in today's Argus chat:
"Long snapper for Saturday's game looks like it will be Kyle Guziec, replacing Trevor Bouma"
One would assume this has to be a step up. No disrespect to Bouma, he wasn't recruited to snap the ball. Mick also said:
"They had a designated long snapper recruit bail on them this summer, so they've had to make due with what they have."
Maybe the rest of you knew this, but I didn't. So it sounds like we had at least tried to get a long snapper and it didn't work out.
Hopefully no special teams issues on Saturday night!

Great news on the long snapper front. It is enough to ask Bouma to focus on being the starting RB and kick returner. Let's hope Guziec can get the ball back there consistently. This game is huge for the Yotes as they head into conference play.

If it were me the mesage would have went something like this at the end of spring ball. "First one of you big boys who can demonstrate the ability to consistently long snap gets themselves a full ride. You've got all summer to work on it. See you in fall camp."
