I don't see USD getting blown out. Yotes defense is too good, that will keep them in a lot of games. Also UNI is dealing with their own issues, injuries, consecutive losses, etc. I think the Yotes will play well in the UNI-Dome, which is similar to the Dakota Dome. Coming out party for Earl, special teams cleans up their act. USD wins a tight one. Wow. A lot of optimism. Boy, do I hope you're right. Solid reasons we can get the win, the question is is this the week we get the 800 lb. gorilla off our backs? If so, then wow is all I can say. Go Yotes. |

There sure is a lot of optimism going on here. I want to go with my gut too and say that we win, but my head is in the way. It's early, and we haven't even played the game yet, but a win here would put us into playoff talk. 4-3 with a 3-1 conference record and a win at UNI, that would be so sweet. First play from scrimmage in 2009.... Hand off to Ganious who flips it back to Shepard who throws a bomb to a streaking Ben Oberle for the TD... something like that would be nice. I too think that would be nice. Shame that we got outscored 66-0 the rest of that game. |

Wow, just about time for me to make a prediction. Is there some kind of a web broadcast available from UNI on this game? I can't imagine there would not be one. I have made no effort to look yet. Anybody know anything about their Panther Message Board? I bet they are ripping the Coyotes on there. Maybe I should make an appearance.

Pretty bold statement for a team that just got dominated by SIU. |

Except SIU is getting votes in the poll. The Yotes haven't won a road game since Nixon was President, or something like that. That's the big expectations that UNI has. This is a classic pick-me-up game for UNI right now. There's a big sense of urgency in Cedar Falls right now. They want to get back on track big time.

Last time i checked SIU is pretty damn good, as is UNI. I know I am glad we dont play SIU this year. I dont want to be the dream crusher here, but that 24 point spread might be about right... Id say 17 is more accurate though.

I also hate to be a buzz kill but I'm afraid we're heading into a game with a very prideful and pissed off top tier team. I'm sure they're looking to open a big can of whoop-ass to prove their season isn't over yet and we're the team that just happens to be on the schedule. If we play mistake free, if Kevin Earl plays lights out, if, if, if - such a big word for only two letters - too many "ifs" to feel confident about getting the W. I truly hope I'm wrong and we do get the win but I just don't see it.

I hope USD can show they are to the point where how the game goes is dictated more by the attitude and execution USD brings into the game versus what the other team's mindset is. I really do think if USD does not make fatal errors (basically ties UNI) in the special teams segment coupled with no offensive turnovers giving UNI the ball in USD territory, this game will be within a TD in the final quarter. Can't wait to find out. |
