I believe Jordan Roberts got a potential concussion, that's why his carries were limited

My voice and throat are still sore. That was the best game, for drama purposes, in a very long time. What an amazing comeback. I have to admit when the final whistle blew I ran around hugging coaches and players like a kid again. Absolute pandemonium! T Star was gasping for air. He gave everything he had, just like many other players. But you could tell he literally gave everything he had.
Some random descriptions.
First, before the game walked through the BB arena. Can't wait for ours to be done. Some things I really liked about theirs, but ours will have some extra touches.
The first two minutes ... I thought OMG this is going to be a long day, then a minute later we scored! I thought, ok everyone just needs to settle down.
Special teams ... everything has been said here already. The quick kick WAS the play of the game if you ask me. Huge field position change and they didn't see it coming. At first I thought, what kind of formation is this ... a new wildcat because Josh VM was in the backfield too. then Bouma punted an amazing punt.
Kevin Earl ... man I am sure liking this kid. the more he plays the better he plays. Just think if he would have started the year at QB, would we be better than 4-3. Wish we could have that Western ILL game back. Now Earl gets a lot of credit, but some REAL credit needs to go to the receiving corp. There were probably 5 OMG DID YOU SEE that catches by receivers.
Freshman Donovan WR. When he scored the first TD, I turned to Herbster and said "Who is that" I don't recall him playing before today. By the end of the game ALL Coyote fans knew his name. He was great ... can't wait to see what his future games look like. A lot of upside for that freshman. Took a head to head shot and game out with a potential concussion, but from what I heard he is probably ok and just precaution.
UNI fans ... were certainly quite vocal, but I never heard them yell bad things at the players. They constantly yelled at the officials, but I never heard unsportsmanlike comments to the players. There were some questionable calls, we may have received the benefit of a few. But we also got away with a few too. Jarrid Bryant could have been called for pass interference (I think in fist OT), it was close. They no called it, UNI fans went nuts. There was some minor contact. What frustrated me was Bryant got up and started doing some serious trash talking. The official got between him and the receiver. After the play, he did not represent USD well and I hope his near mental mistake (ref was likely thinking of throwing unsportsmanlike penalty on him) could have cost the game. A little trash talking is fine I guess, but his on that play crossed the line. I was 5 yards away and could hear it. I wasn't the only USD personal telling him to knock it off. Aside from that play, he played a great game. We were extremely close to getting a delay of game penalty on the first OT field goal. UNI fans thought it was zero. To be honest, if there was time on the play clock it was only 1/100 of one second. It was close!
Decision not to go for two ... at the time I was more worried about the snap on the extra point that I thought the only way we can win is going for two. Thought the same thing on the 4th and 1 when we kicked the field goal in 1 OT. Filing that under the best decisions never made, right?
T Star ... they constantly went the opposite direction as him, good coaching on their part. There was one play where he missed the RB on a blitz, stopped turned around and caught him from behind. He got about a 6-8 yard gain, but Star's quickness was on display. there really isn't much more you can say about this kid other that he is GOOD. I've heard as high as round 3 or 4 are potentially realistic for him.
T Star family ... I would estimate about 350-400 USD fans at that game, and it sure seemed like 50 of them had T Star jerseys on. Just great to see his family support him that way and we hope we don't lose the 30 or so season ticket holders that are friends an family.
Sideline ... was rocking all game. The kids didn't get down to much when it was 28-7, frustrated maybe, but coaches did a good job keeping everyone positive. Great to see the O and D seem like a single team. In previous games or last year it seemed there wasn't a "union" or "team concept" on the sidelines, just my perception. But yesterday they really were the "band of brothers". great to see that! Post game was amazing, everyone (myself included) jumping around like USD won the World Series. I can't really describe with justice how good it felt to be there and watch that. The players came over and sang the fight song to the fans. Classy move the coaches this year to have the players salute the fans, I have witnessed it a few other times where they acknowledged the band and student section on D Days. Top notch class there. Reminded me of when the women's BB team last year saluted the crowd and band.
Post game ... so amazing to see a couple hundred Yote fans salute the players as they walked out of the locker room to get on the bus. Was great to see. Man, the post game beer sure tasted good!!!! Stopped at McNallys on the way home. the band playing gave a special salute to the Coyotes and the place went nuts.
Just a great day to be a Coyote.
Oh yea, one more thing. I really like the signs the UNI Dome has on the rails in the front row. The fans were banging on them and it was QUITE loud at times. I'm sure we will look into installing something similar in the Dome. Then maybe the fans in our first row will get into the game more.

94grad and obc mentioned Coach Farley's post-game comments, which I can understand can't be easy for the losing coach in a game like this. But someone get that man a stats sheet so he can solve the mystery of how the Panthers lost!

I finally have finished throwing up. I miss my first Coyote game in 3 years and they beat UNI at UNI. I went to a good friends sons wedding in Minnesota, and spent the entire supper and part of the dance on my IPhone on the ESPN ap watching the progress of the game.
I am so excited and happy for these guys. I thought the people were going to call the cops and put me in the paddy wagon when it was finally over. Both fists in the air, followed by an extremely deep YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. What a great win. It appears from the comments that the team never gave up, and never got on each others butts when times went against them. People, that's the reflection of coaching. Not just Joe Glen, but the entire staff.
For those older posters, this team is reminding me of the '78 team that won the NCC. No one predicted them to do well, and all they did was win once they got over the hump. I know we aren't good enough to start talking winning it, or running the table, but I will say this. We have a legit shot to win at Illinois State. We then come home and face a very very good Youngstown State that is currently undefeated, but after reading about their games this year, it leads me to believe that we can expose their weaknesses. I would have guessed that we would have been underdogs to Montana, but they lost to Northern Arizona worse than we did one week after we played them, so Montana is doable. Then the Jacks come to town. I have been in enough of those games to know you can throw out the record, but my point is we now have a good chance to win that game as well. Lastly comes NDSU. Right now I wouldn't like our chances, but I'll comment the closer we get to the game.
I am so proud of all the people associated with Coyote sports. Joe Glen is "getting 'er done". Matt Houck is leading the Summit in volleyball. Amy Williams showed me last year her team is ready to contend. The verdict on Joey James is out, but I like the fact Boots is no longer at the helm. So I wish Joey nothing but the best. Then there is Gotts, Lucky, and all the other staff we currently have employed, and we are in a very good way at USD.
I am so proud of this football team my shirt buttons are popping off. Work to reduce errors, put games away earlier, and keep stymying opponents offenses with our swarming defense. A huge shout out to Coach Petrino. What a fantastic job you have done. Thank you.
To the team, thank you for your awesome efforts. You truly are a BAND OF BROTHERS

Great win for the Yotes. I'm glad to see the Coyote programs moving in the right direction. My 2 year old loves the Coyotes and I'm happy they are giving all of us a reason to rekindle the sheer excitment and unwavering support like she has for USD. Yotes forever!!

Wow! Count me among those as more than pleasantly surprised. First things first, Kevin Earl is the real deal. I cant believe how impressive he has been. He gains better command of this offense each week and I am excited for the future as he continues to learn and develop. This offense has some amazing potential with some of the freshmen and sophomore playmakers (Bouma, Donovan, Khornegay who has yet to play but I hear is extremely talented).
Secondly, the defense and coach Petrino are a different unit this year. I think our defense made an enormous leap across the board, especially the linebacking corps and secondary. Just tremendous.
A little icing on the cake, stop by the UNI and SDSU message boards this morning or afternoon for a good chuckle. Im not about kicking someone while they are down so I wont say anything at either place. Karma can be a B. And both these teams perceived us as a doormat when the season began. It just brightened my day to see them having the convos we were having on here about 4 weeks ago. Go Yotes!

I'd love to provide some analysis of the game. Unfortunately, all I have to go on is the radio call. My only comments there are "How does the color guy stay so calm- both on great and horrible plays?". He's very professional or nearly dead. And I don't know how you correct this, but JVG calling TD on the JVM non-TD drove me crazy. Since those are my complaints for the day, it's a fine day indeed! Again, all I've got is the radio call and Keloland TVs highlights: they showed two great plays by "James" Van der Maten and also "James" Terry. Oyyy.... So, anyone who actually SAW the game, I'd love to read any additional insight. Other than that, will have to wait for Mick and Jeremy's coverage and Coyote Corner. Honestly, I was kind of rooting for us to go for two at the end of regulation and also NOT to kick the FG in OT. My confidence in the kicking game was kaput at that point. I guess that's why I'm not the coach. GO YOTES! I also had to listen to the game, at work no less. I was very upset at the faux TD call on the JVM catch in the 1st half too. Another call that really upset me was in the 4th quarter on a 3rd down Earl threw to Donovan for a long gain down inside the 10. The call went something like "Earl throws it downfield to Donovan, and he's got it! No, it's incomplete. Wait, the defender intercepted it! No! Donovan has it, Yotes down to the 8!" Obviously I didn't see what happened, it may have been very tough to tell what happened, but that was a great example of JVG needing to wait a second before yelling a conclusive remark on the play. 5 minutes into this game we've already had a JVG "Incomplete! No, complete!" and a "Looks good from here" on our FG attempt. JVG is great but this is driving me crazy! I don't listen to much sports on the radio- maybe this is a common problem for play by play guys.
