Fantastic win fellas!! Way to battle through all the mishaps.
Note to the Valley...there is a new playa in town.
I bet Illinois State doesn't let us wear all red.

As I stated before, the Coyotes always used to play Northern Iowa pretty tough. Just following tradition.
Next up, Illinois State. Payback time.

510 yards vs 315 yards in favor of USD so it is difficult to say it was a fluke.

I'm sooooooo glad that I was wrong in my prediction! The Yotes really proved something to me today. I only wish I would have gone now!

What I think about this game and it's future implications isn't necessarily that they Yotes won (but obviously it was big) but how the Yotes won coming back from a near impossible situation down 28-7. The Yotes simply don't do that kind of thing, at least not until now. The 4th and goal tying touchdown was a play that always used to be missed but now it was made. I can't remember an instance in multiple years where the Coyotes won the way they did and especially since it was on the road in a place very difficult to win in. Despite the special teams errors Bergner kept his cool and made the kicks when absolutely needed. The Yotes could have lost this game in so many ways and pooped it away but instead found the only avenue they could have to win.
The game has a sweet taste in so many ways.

By the way, whoever "Yotes" is on the UNI message board, kudos to you for keeping it civil and fact based in the face of arrogant stupidity. You've shown greater restraint than most would. Puts a good face on our organization. I knew little about UNI until this week, but some of the fans commenting on their board are helping me to shape an opinion- regarding their fan base at least.

These **bleeping** Yotes. Unbelievable. What a way to break that road streak too! Down 28-7 in a game we weren't supposed to compete in, we come all the way back and take it in double OT. So much fight in this team. I'm so impressed, more than once things seemed bleak. We came back and got it to 28-21, failed to convert on 4th and 3 deep in their territory, and things seemed bleaker than when we were down by 21. But the defense stopped them, and the offense came all the way down for one of the most memorable drives and plays in Coyote history to force overtime. Resilience right there.
Despite all of our mistakes, we still pulled it out. Missed field goals, botched punts, penalties galore, still took it. Lovin' these Yotes more than ever. Got 3rd in the Valley to ourselves, might find ourselves ranked or nearly ranked next week, and are one huge step closer to being a playoff threat. Oh yeah!
Go Yotes!

Yours truly has been going around the internet lately representing USD as "Yotes". I tried to talk football with them, but they thought that was laughable. After the game I let them know what I thought of their arrogance and gladly left knowing they'd have to agonize over a loss to us. Mostly unimpressed with their fans, but that has to have a little to do with how an incredibly promising season has slipped between their fingers. I have a feeling I'd get a similar treatment any year though.

A few weeks ago the game vs USD was the only "gimme game" that I saw on NDSU's schedule, even considering "any given Saturday" factor. Dammit anyway Coyotes! Congratulations on a huge win for your school and fans. I love it, I love it, I love it!

Congratulations on a huge win for your school and fans. I love it, I love it, I love it! Thank you Mr.1bizon1. I would expect your team to win this year in Fargo but I doubt very much it will be a gimme. I also expect the Bison to win their 3rd straight National Championship. (That makes me want to puke to say that.) I would say anything less than a national title and you would have to say your season has been unsuccessful. The Yote Nation will be looking forward to future visits to the Danger Dome by ndsu. They won't be any 'gimmes' either. Go South Dakota!

Classy move by the community. They are going to have some patrol cars meet the Coyotes when they get back to the coffee cup tonight. Anyone is welcome to lineup their car to help escort the bus back to Vermillion. If anyone that is reading that is close by they can greet the Yotes. I believe it should be around 12:15AM tonight.
