Classy move by the community. They are going to have some patrol cars meet the Coyotes when they get back to the coffee cup tonight. Anyone is welcome to lineup their car to help escort the bus back to Vermillion. If anyone that is reading that is close by they can greet the Yotes. I believe it should be around 12:15AM tonight. I would love to be there for this. With more advance notice I could have flown my LearJet back for it. LOL! What a great day for CoyoteNation. Go Yotes Go!

Speaking of CoyoteNation where the heck is everybody? We've just experienced one of the greatest wins in Yote football history and hardly anyone has posted about it. I see there are and have been a number of people on the site. Come on share your thoughts. I'm sure interested in them. I'll bet Mr. CF is too.
Onward South Dakota, Onward!

Just spent of few valuable minutes of my life wasting them at the Panther(crybaby)Nation.com message board. You know their team is so banged up with injuries and the referees just completely stole the game away from them. Not one post about how the Yotes never gave up. Not one about how we put up over 500 yards on them. Not one about how we actually played pretty good defense against them, especially when it really counted. I could go on and on of course but I'm getting tired and am also pretty emotionally drained.
Go over there and check it out. Enjoy the entertainment. Speaking of entertainment, I can't wait for the next visit to The Danger Dome by the unbeatable purple and gold.
Go South Dakota da da da da da da da da!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

These **bleeping** Yotes. Unbelievable. What a way to break that road streak too! Down 28-7 in a game we weren't supposed to compete in, we come all the way back and take it in double OT. So much fight in this team. I'm so impressed, more than once things seemed bleak. We came back and got it to 28-21, failed to convert on 4th and 3 deep in their territory, and things seemed bleaker than when we were down by 21. But the defense stopped them, and the offense came all the way down for one of the most memorable drives and plays in Coyote history to force overtime. Resilience right there. Despite all of our mistakes, we still pulled it out. Missed field goals, botched punts, penalties galore, still took it. Lovin' these Yotes more than ever. Got 3rd in the Valley to ourselves, might find ourselves ranked or nearly ranked next week, and are one huge step closer to being a playoff threat. Oh yeah! Go Yotes! You ruined your post with the "F" bomb. Come on. Sorry, was caught up in the excitement. I would like to nominate Bouma for MVFC Special Teams POW for his 67 yard punt today. That play was genius, and every inch counted in that epic field position battle at the end of regulation. Not sure we win without it, field would have been even longer on our attempts to tie the game.

I'd love to provide some analysis of the game. Unfortunately, all I have to go on is the radio call. My only comments there are "How does the color guy stay so calm- both on great and horrible plays?". He's very professional or nearly dead. And I don't know how you correct this, but JVG calling TD on the JVM non-TD drove me crazy. Since those are my complaints for the day, it's a fine day indeed!
Again, all I've got is the radio call and Keloland TVs highlights: they showed two great plays by "James" Van der Maten and also "James" Terry. Oyyy....
So, anyone who actually SAW the game, I'd love to read any additional insight. Other than that, will have to wait for Mick and Jeremy's coverage and Coyote Corner.
Honestly, I was kind of rooting for us to go for two at the end of regulation and also NOT to kick the FG in OT. My confidence in the kicking game was kaput at that point. I guess that's why I'm not the coach.
GO YOTES!

At least until kick off next Saturday. And of course I will be very excited for that game. Let's get two wins on the road in a row. Great observation on the Bouma punt. Seemingly little things can mean so much. Go Yotes Go, Go Yotes Go!

I'm really waiting for The Old Ball Coach to chime in. Where are you Mr. OBC?

Bouma's punt was clutch. Do we keep him back there to punt? Or too much of an injury risk?

I guess that's why I'm not the coach. GO YOTES! I also had to listen to the game, at work no less. I was very upset at the faux TD call on the JVM catch in the 1st half too. Another call that really upset me was in the 4th quarter on a 3rd down Earl threw to Donovan for a long gain down inside the 10. The call went something like "Earl throws it downfield to Donovan, and he's got it! No, it's incomplete. Wait, the defender intercepted it! No! Donovan has it, Yotes down to the 8!" Obviously I didn't see what happened, it may have been very tough to tell what happened, but that was a great example of JVG needing to wait a second before yelling a conclusive remark on the play. I can tell you I was holding my breath knowing that we were kicking the XP to tie it. It was in the first OT that I really didn't want to see a kick, I desperately wanted us to go for the win considering the day Bergner had so far and how big of a roll our offense was on. Very glad it was no question in 2OT, a third OT would not have boded well for my young heart. I still can't believe we got over 500 yards of offense (two players on their ever thinning defense helped). It's clear this offense is developing fast. Our freshman running back continues to figure out how to play and excel at the college level, sophomore quarterback is doing an impeccable job learning on the field how to be the general in just 3 starts, former QB making the passing attack even more deadly every week in his new wideout position, and how about that Riley Donovan?! I'm glad we burnt his shirt this year. 178 yards on 9 catches for 2 TDs against UNI as a true freshman, holy cow! Earl, Bouma, and Donovan are going to be giving the other team fits for years to come!

Great analysis over all, everyone. I think its amazing. People thought USD was foolish for joining the Valley, as it is arguably the best conference in FCS. A year ago, many people had no hope for us. Amazing the difference one year can make. We still have a very young team. However, we also have a defense that is playing lights out, a quarter back who is now 3-0 and still learning, and a pair of running backs who are stepping up huge. The scary part about our running game is that Sanders isn't even playing - just wait until next year!

THat's what I meant, the Coyote game IS NOT a gimme game anymore like I thought it would be. What a turn around and USD is going to be VERY hard to stop. Give these kids the "hey, we CAN do this" attitude and look out! Still can't believe this. I can't believe Farley didn't have his head explode! LOL

Give these kids the "hey, we CAN do this" attitude and look out! Still can't believe this. I can't believe Farley didn't have his head explode! LOL I hear that! Keep winning and motivating these kids more and more each week and our trip to Fargo may just be a showdown for the MVFC Title. It's not out of the question, wins against Illinois State, Youngstown State, and SDSU would bring the conference title down to that final game, plus possibly even get us into the playoffs win or lose. Did you just catch that? Playoffs! A Coyote fan is talking about playoffs! One game at a time, one game at a time. For all I know we lose out. What I do know though, is that we are proving a lot of people's preseason polling wrong. Near unanimous pick to finish last, sitting in 3rd halfway through the season and looking dangerous! Go Yotes!

No more from me today, I'm beat. I'm really waiting for The Old Ball Coach to chime in. Where are you Mr. OBC? Go Coyotes, Forever! Just got home from Cedar Falls. This is the greatest win for USD that I have witnessed. Beating a team of UNIs pedigree, on the road, that has prepared hard for you, and has their backs against the wall to have a prayer of making the playoffs is a HUGE step for the Yotes. Lots more thoughts tomorrow. Time to sleep though now! GO YOTES! So proud and happy for that group. Incredible!
