I'm curious, how many high schools have hockey programs in South Dakota?

Strong statement by the Yotes! It's not going to be any easier to beat them in the SLT, than it was in the conference play. I know it's 1 vs. 8, and there's a long road yet, but the 1 played like a 1 yesterday!
Both Yotes teams came to work, you gotta like that!

Solid game for the Yotes, they came to work, and it showed.
It was good to see Hurst on the court again, and the bench scoring was strong!

I'm very new to USD athletics and the conference(s) which they play but want to be as involved as I can. I have never really followed basketball but promised another person on the football thread that I would try. I've always loved March Madness and try not to miss much. If somebody could fill me in on everything about the tournament we play in, as if I was a first grader, I think not only myself, but a lot of others would also be more clued in and follow more. So clue me in please!!!! I'm very excited as I just got off the phone with somebody that is a new best friend of mine, that probably will be my best friend for life, a USD alumni, that I met football tailgating...AND HE IS VERY PUMPED NOT ONLY ABOUT WHERE THE FOOTBALL PROGRAM IS GOING BUT WHERE BOTH THE MEN'S AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PROGRAM ARE AT RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!
I want to follow the programs thru the tournament. Can anybody clue me in??? From what I understand, there's a Summit League Tournament that's played in Sioux Falls from 3/3 - 3/6 and is it just the winner that gets a bid into March Madness??? Excuse me if I've wrote anything ignorant. I'm new here AND MUCH THANKS FOR ANY AND ALL INSIGHT!!! GO YOTES BABY!!! BOOM SHAKALAKA BOOM!!!!!
(technical facts, TV coverage, opinions...everything wanted....the chances of cooking some rabbit???) As long as the Jacks don't check out early, there will be 2 servings of rabbit on Tuesday 1pm and 8pm!!

I had to rush to the Stats, to see if there were 5 newcomers better than Chloe Lamb. I can't argue with Zim or the stats, but I wouldn't trade Chloe for any of them. IMHO

Going in I was interested to see if the Jacks had discovered religion on the defensive side of the ball. I must admit their interior defense was better than January (could it be any worse), and I think it eventually was a differentiating factor. TBM, Fuller and Hagedorn had more difficulty in the paint this time around.
However, I also believe the Coyotes had a ton of unforced errors, turnovers, losing defensive rebounds out of bounds, missed layups that were really out of character for this team.
Have a very positive view going into the SLT!
As for Mooney, I think he had a great game, again. We are best, because of our depth, when multiple players are scoring, but if we need a spark, like last night, I'm totally comfortable with putting the ball in Matt's hands.
This is a good team Yotes fans, let's enjoy March!!

From what I saw ... of the game ... a big reason the Yotes ... shot so well in the ... 2nd half ... great passing... a lot of layups!
Sorry, can't get that video feed out of my mind!

Yea for Upvote/Downvote Yea for thinking about USD, the program, and other readers before posting. (need work myself) Yea for posting more to drown out those who don't think about this audience before posting.
Nay for false choice voting options: "No, I don't understand the constitution and want to claim free speech." What is that?
Nay for banning Coyote Fan.

I watched some tape on all of the commits and made a quick list of who I believe passed the eye test the most and may see some early playing time. Keep in mind that some players were better at keeping up on their tapes though I like to skip to the middle to see the good plays but avoid the highlight plays that every recruit can achieve. This is just a lighthearted list with some notes. 1. WR Marquis Majors 6' 175 - smooth receiver, creates separation, finds holes, +blocker 2. DE Ethan Burson 6'4" 275 - Big/athletic frame with room to add muscle, good technique, I've already coined him as "Big Country" 3. CB Tre Jackson 6' 175 - Great awareness, fierce hitter/tackler 4. OLB Dakota Smith 6'2" 205 - Freak athlete, will need to add muscle, speed and awareness, could change position 5. DE Brendan Webb 6'4" 205 - Athletic and quick off the snap, lenky and will need to add weight, reminds me of Van Ginkel 6. RB Canaan Brooks 6' 210 - Quick and shifty for his size, good lateral movement 7. CB Rodney Sivils Jr. 6'2" 205 - physical corner, knows where the ball is 8. WR Anthony Turner JUCO 6'4" 220 - strong/tall receiver, hard to tackle, can make pancake blocks, catches ball at highest point 9. QB Tyler Foote 6'2" 220 - Big bodied, huge arm, throw effortlessly, not mobile 10. SS Jakari Starling 6'2" 205 - quick and looks the part, needs better pad level Curious if you looked at Wesley Eliodor's tape? Thanks for the post!

Great job Yotes! Curious why Mick was so surprised by USD’s WBB performance vs SDSU last night. USD WBB is 2-1 at Frost the past three seasons Through yesterday’s game it is interesting to compare SL conference results the last few years. Let’s look at the last four years (including so far this season) USD WBB 46-9 SDSU WBB 42-12 Now of course we all know SDSU has done better at the SL tournament - with the exception of last year when they were beaten early in the tournament. And the other exception being when our women shocked them four years ago to make the NCAA tournament. In our defense, it appears the SDSU women make playing our women in the SL tournament their Super Bowl. He also had the "yes, but" headline for the Mens game, which was strange. The truth can stand on its own, and it always will. I like Mick and his coverage overall, but a couple of strange ones this week, probably an editor involved.

Not the first time Smith has gone up with the students, doubt it will be the last. So perhaps playing Denver or Western Ill and celebrating with the students after means those were our "super bowls" too. Give me a break. Really like the way Peterson has been playing the last couple games, and Simpson as well. Hurst's defense can really help us and he does a lot of other things really well, but down the stretch, it's tough to have guys on the court that don't look to score. I think we're going to need another one or two of those guys late in games that want the ball other than Matt, and I think Peterson is one of those guys. Leo's, Carey's or The Pressbox (RIP) likely would have elicited a post like that from me as well. The Sophomores have been great this year, love Peterson's game, and Simpson has been gold at PG. Armstrong has improved his inside game to go along with his 3pt ability. As they say, future is bright!
