Ladies & Gentlemen - we need to wake up. We are two days away from gameday and this board is dead! There is a ton of football left to play. We are 2-1 and are right in the hunt! Agreed, and thanks Kiyoat for the visual inspiration! It's a big game, 3-1 going into the home game with the buffalos, puts us in a good place. Even at 3-2, IF we were to lose to NDSU, I like the chances of at least 2-1 to close out the year. It's one game at a time, but this one is necessary for a realistic shot at the playoffs. The main thing is fix what's broken, and win in Youngstown. |

The improved running game will add a new dimension to this offense. Keep up the good work, it’s coming!
Love our WRs, they are talented, but it sure was nice seeing the 2 back set, with the TE lead blocking and just POUNDING the rock.
Still need to be able to sustain drives and eat the clock with leads.

I was trying to point out influences on Simmons' completion %, a good P5 defense and some drops, by receivers, also playing against the same defense.
I'm very optimistic that both will be better against FCS competition.
The play-by-play summary indicates drops if you'd like another opinion.

Simmons’ completion % needs improvement. I thought he was overthrowing receivers early, but settled in a little better later. There were a lot of drops also, I had 7 by my count. Against that D-line and those DBs, in his first start as ‘the Man’, it was a decent performance.
I think Coach will have something to say about missed opportunities on offense and putting teams away from the offensive side of the ball in practice this week.

Great presser, I like this guy.
What I liked, "Tough, defense & rebounding, prepared". What I really liked, as others have mentioned, he wants everyone to stay, since we're already a winning program, but if someone leaves, we're still going to win!
Now that the "fluff" is out of the way, Coach Lee get to work! I'll be watching for the Asst. Coach selections, scheduling and of course, winning over the players on the team.

I wouldn't have the slightest idea who should be on the list, let alone where they would be placed on the list, but I do agree with Coyote Fan, recruiting has to be a top priority. Like Coach Glenn always said 'recruiting is like shaving, if you don't do it everyday (or very well, I might add) you end up looking like a bum".

Guessing after his DUI arrest, Stig will be a lot more liberal in allowing his players some leeway to experiment with and use alcohol and drugs. He probably figures since he got away with it, why can't his players...? Well I don't think Stig can really preach morals at this point. Thanks to Coach Smith for the work done at USD. Wish him well at USU and future gigs, he did his job here, IMHO.
When you hire quality coaches as a Mid Major, this is a part of the package. Now let's see the next rising star, and cheer him on and enjoy the ride!
I'd rather this 'problem' than the alternative. Go Yotes, still the Pride of the Western Plains!

Anyone know the rotation for which 2 teams you don't play each year. I'm assuming it is not a regular rotation, and involves geography. I noticed we won't be playing WIU in 2022 or 2023.

It's a crazy system, but you're right. So, I guess this is the plan: Lose to the best team in your conference twice, Schedule tough opponents and lose, Win with your March SLT lotto ticket and you're IN !! You mean teams like NC State, Drake, Oklahoma, and George Washington who are teams in the NCAA's that the Jacks beat? Pretty tough to throw stones when you are losing games to the likes of Tulsa and SFA... 'throwing stones?' Relax, take a deep breath. So State won 4 games against tourney teams to the Yotes 3. We all get it, scheduling top teams is a necessity, but not necessarily an easy task. You got yourself a well-deserved 8 seed, and you're on the Yotes board? Why don't you grab a Joose and kick back and enjoy the ride  Best wishes in the Tourney! |

I'm happy for the Jacks getting that seed, but there are three reasons they drew that 8-seed: 1. RPI 2. RPI 3. RPI The committee doesn't even look at any other metrics. It is 12 different ways to dissect the RPI. The sooner we recognize that the better. Strength of Schedule is 75% of the RPI, and the RPI is 100% of selection criteria. It's a crazy system, but you're right.
