Since non-conference schedule was finished, I’ve been waiting for NCAA tourney, with idea the Yotes have a chance to win some games. Nothing happened in Sioux Falls to change that, just a few props moved around, still the big stage, Let’s Go Yotes!!

Is this team ever going to have depth at linebacker? Linebacker will be an intriguing position this spring and fall, with the talk of going 3-4, a new DC that has a "position-less" approach, and the few LBs on the roster with experience. It looks like we'll see some different faces in that position, perhaps change of position. I'd love to hear from the football experts on this one.

I'll leave it to the experts on his potential, but the novice eye sees a strong arm, hitting receivers in stride and quickly. That would play well in Bob's offense, no?? It will be fun to watch the QB competition, this year and following.

It's amazing how this team can just go completely cold in an instant. They were getting good shots, just couldn't buy a basket. I don't want to look it up, but I believe they were up 50-39, and I believe they held them on a couple of possessions prior to them going on a 16-0 run. That's a lot of possessions without points.
I like this team, they play hard, good defense, low turnovers, a lot to like, it's just painful to watch their poor shooting spells though. I hope they keep up the fight, they can still do some damage in the league, let's hope the best is yet to come in the second half of league play.

Well it was a slugfest! And a KO by the Lady Yotes!!! Speaking of a knockout I can't believe they didn't review the high elbow shot to Allison! That was the worst of the few they reviewed. Great first half defense along with balanced scoring for the game and it's always good to see younger players play some! Agreed...I'm wondering if UND was just a bit chippy or simply a bunch of cheapshot artists. Hard to tell from TV or maybe all Scandinavians play like thugs. But 63 fouls...I'm glad this wasn't played under the men's format and fouls were erased at the end of the third quarter. All Scandinavians play like thugs, you should have seen us when we were Vikings, ahh the good ole' days!

I think it’s far from over myself. Coach giving them FTs didn’t help, but it would take the patience of a Saint to not get upset about phantom foul calls on your leading scorer when you’re already playing short handed.
Can we be 8 better than ORU in a half? Sure can!

sportschic raised a great question about the lack of talk about the QB transfer.
I have to admit, I was concerned about how the team was going to improve in other position areas (DL/LB and now suddenly, OL) that I haven't really given a lot of thought to the potential impact a talent like Devon could bring. It is going to be a lot of fun to see him play and contribute to Coyote success, plus 3 years of eligibility, could be big!

Maybe I'll put together a "opponent graveyard" thread, with stats. I've got time, since I won't be posting anything on our fictitious attendance numbers anymore... In thinking about Coach Lee's impact, this is a stat line I would love to see. Also, a review of our turnovers and assists/turnover ratios, I would guess they are improved. This game and the Baylor game, when it was crunch time the opposition went to zone. I think for two reasons, they were not confident they could cover man to man against our sets, and they were willing to take the chance on our outside shooting. Coach was right, the Yotes were getting good looks, they just couldn't hit the shots. So with our brutal shooting, coach says we need to get better on D.
I like that, Defense wins championships. If you're talking about playing better Defense, when it's clear that your offense just let you down, you know you have an understanding of what winning is about!
Just my opinion...

Good poll question, and thanks for the historical info kiyoat.
I voted Bourbon, because I knew my favorite had Bourbon, but then I checked the label and it has Bourbon, Brandy, and blended Whiskey. Now I know why it's my favorite!

I am a sarcastic clown, beyond recovery.
Seriously, I believe in adding schools that make the commitment to building a quality D1 mid major conference. I'm not smart enough to project if Augie can do it, but I know they have the Sioux Falls market in which to try. If they are successful in building a D1 program like say SDSU (see, I'm nice to the Hobos up north) it would make for some interesting local rivalries, again.

If Hagedorn was healthy, we'd be 5-0, am I right?

Agreed, and thanks Kiyoat for the visual inspiration! It's a big game, 3-1 going into the home game with the buffalos, puts us in a good place. Even at 3-2, IF we were to lose to NDSU, I like the chances of at least 2-1 to close out the year. It's one game at a time, but this one is necessary for a realistic shot at the playoffs. The main thing is fix what's broken, and win in Youngstown. We need to go 4-1 last 5 games for a playoff shot. Need to run the table and take at least one against NDSU/SDSU You are correct, the math slips every once in awhile.

I voted already. Never had any desire to vote until the last election, won't be skipping election day ever again. The political landscape in this country all comes from the bottom up. Vote in those local elections to help determine the direction of our country. Especially agree with the last part of this post, the best government is local government. In a republic, the power is with the citizen, we have deferred that power too often to the State capitols, and worse to D.C. Vote regularly, and even more regularly contact your local representatives, and let them know that you vote regularly! Excuse me for rambling, now how are we going to get our OL back to being the strength of this team, I'm sure it will happen, and then look out!
