Per Matt Brown's Extra Point Newsletter (you have to subscribe to read the full newsletter), Stephen F Austin may leave the WAC, which would bring the WAC down to 9 conference members, of which only 4 sponsor football. If that happens he has been told that multiple WAC members will explore other conference membership options. His newsletter states "Specifically, I’ve been told to monitor the Summit League as a potential destination for the Utah-based institutions..." There are 3 Utah schools in the WAC: Utah Valley, Southern Utah & Utah Tech (formerly Dixie State). Southern Utah & Utah Tech both sponsor football.

Agree with Cousin Eddie on all of the above. However, I would add swimming & diving to the list. They have consistently had a competitive team despite facility disadvantages. Moving into a new pool next season should make them even more competitive.

I am once again excited about the future of Coyote basketball. Now we wait and see what happens with the roster and coaching staff. Per this article on the Idaho Vandals website, 2 of Eighmey's assistant coaches will remain on staff at Idaho. I have no idea what to expect on our roster for next year. What are the transfer portal rules following a coaching change? Are there separate rules for returning players, new recruits and recent additions from the portal? I read someplace that players have 30 days after a coaching change to enter the portal, but I have no idea if that is accurate. If anyone on here has and idea what the rules are (kiyoat or 90yote??) please provide a summary.

I would have been 100% onboard with Jewett getting the HC job and I really hope he stays on staff. That being said, Eighmey knows how to recruit the Midwest and typically had at least 2 SD girls on her team every year at Kearney.

I have no idea if any of this has any substance and if so, how all this fits together: UND Message Board says Summit League looking at adding multiple schools and some Huge Changes

You have to click on the above to read it, but it is a screenshot of the results of the poll on this site after Coach P left. Several names from that list could be potential candidates this time around, a couple of which are now with different programs. Carrie Eighmey just completed her first year as the HC at Idaho. Linda Sayavongchanh just completed her 2nd year as an asst coach at Indiana. Amber Cunningham - still at Colorado St Mandy Pearson - still at Duluth Molly Miller - still at Grand Canyon

Interesting. The last salary information I could find for Thiesse shows that she was at $83,000 in 2021, which is about 1/3 of what Karius was making this past season at USD. PS. Perhaps Mankato is looking to join the Summit??

I hope Jewett is back on the Coyote bench next year and would be fine with whatever chair he is sitting in.
