Wright State is in the middle of a 15-3 run and leads by 3. The Coyotes need to regroup. The game is at the under 12 timeout.

It does seem like the Yotes are going to have some trouble scoring the basketball, at least early in the season. The rebounding hasn't been too bad so far. It appears that the Raiders are trying to take Kasperbauer out of the game. He is definately the most lethal Coyote shooter so can ya blame them. Casey misses a free thrown which is news. Wright State is up 55-47 with over 8 to go.

Just can't buy a basket and keep turning the ball over needlessly. Really let this one get away from us.

The Coyotes are ice cold from the field and are just trying to hang by a thread in the game right now. Who is gonna step up and be the go to player on offense for the Yotes. Down by 11 at this point and turnovers are starting to creep up there in the game as well. 5:29 to go.

Coyotes finally hit a three but are still down by 10 with under 5 to go. Even if the Yotes hold Wright State scoreless the rest of the way I don't know if they have enough offense to catch up.

Alsdorf for Wright State has 26 points and his previous career high was 15. The Yotes continue to struggle on offense. 69-59 with 2:30 to go.

That was a pitiful final 15 minutes or so. I understand the shots aren't always going to fall but we can't have so many fouls and turnovers.

What is interesting is that the Yotes have basically lost the game on offense and with turnovers. Both strengths a year ago are a major weakness in this one tonight. One bright note is Burnett as he has 20 points and 15 boards.

Like last year we are starting with so many new faces and are probably going to spend the bulk of the non-conference figuring out how this team works best. That second half was painful to listen to.

That was a pitiful final 15 minutes or so. I understand the shots aren't always going to fall but we can't have so many fouls and turnovers. You are absolutely correct. The Yotes sure didn't seem to play with much composure. They had a 9 point lead and completely collapsed. I was really thinking this was going to be a W tonight. Wright State is not very good. The good thing is that this team has a ton of inexperience and will grow as a team the longer the year goes on. 77-69 is the Final in favor of the Horizon League and Wright State. Tomorrow is going to be even more difficult. The Yotes are likely going to need to beat Northridge to avoid an 0-3 start. Kasperbauer ended with a good night but we need more than 2 players to show up to win. Bos, Larson and Hunter were sorely missed tonight.

I don't see anyone predicting doom and gloom but in a game thread it's also important to be accurate as well. The Yotes kind of blew it tonight. Of course there is plenty of season left.

I guess on a positive note despite a not very good season last year the Raiders were picked to finish 5th this year which would be a big improvement from last year. I still was hoping for a win though.

Team started 0-5 last year and figured things out. No doom and gloom at all here, just am hopeful we are going to have things more put together to start this season. A win over NIU would be very big and not at all impossible.

Coach Smith's comments
Said effort was good but stood around on offense. Said Wright State played well. Lost discipline on defense. Coyotes are a work in progress and a very different team. Said Jech and Hagedorn got more minutes than anticipated at 19 each. Dan played pretty well. Both playing first game. Tomorrow Yotes will need both to play alot of minutes. Says Yotes will bounce back.
