Good kid, but playing time at SDSU was going to be an issue. She'll do well in Vermillion and she will get a chance to see the court next year. actually, playing time was not the issue, it was a boy friend that was the reason for the transfer. Nice job musclehead, thanks for setting the record straight. Kate should be a nice addition to our incoming class. Not to mention our current freshman class. Should be a strong and deep 10-11 girls.

With Rylie's assist, steals and rebound numbers, as a guard, she sounds like a young Nicole Seekamp!

No one said she wasn't good, but that class for SDSU is absolutely loaded. AJ already squeezes time, getting 10 minutes a game would have been considered a win for her. At USD she will see the floor immediately next year due to the loss of 4 seniors. She will likely see over 20 per game and I expect her to be named a starter.

Still would have been an issue. No one said she wasn't good, but that class for SDSU is absolutely loaded. She will likely see over 20 per game and I expect her to be named a starter. Obviously USD's roster is so weak compared to SDSU's that only the cast offs that can't play on the Jacks would be shoe-ins to start for USD. I am sure Severyn will be by far USD's best player this coming season. Breanna Stewart would be lucky to even make the Jacks roster at all. That same train of thought had the Jacks as guaranteed regular season champs in 14-15 AND 15-16. We all know how that turned out.

This blog from Five State Hoops rates USD's class of recruits from the 5 state region as #1. Great coaching staff, new arena, winning tradition..... NDSU with Sarah Jacobson & Rylee Nudell will make them the best.

You mean another player left Mecca for lowly Vermillion? Lol Good kid, but playing time at SDSU was going to be an issue. She'll do well in Vermillion and she will get a chance to see the court next year. She was also very vocal about her education being the most important reason. She really wanted to be in an actual business school not whatever made up ag/general/entrepreneurship degree SDSU claims to have that is not recognized by anyone as an actual degree.

Some of you yote posters really struggle with reading comprehension. "but that class for Sdsu is absolutely loaded",what am I not comprehending??I am not referring to the current class of 2 coming in next year, but the class Severyn was coming in with. Severyn came in with Miller, Thompson, and Alexander. Currently, 2 of those players start and the other is the backup point guard. The current freshmen have Geubert, Mieras, Graettinger, and Palmer. Graettinger incurred a concussion early and she has reshirted. Also, a transfer sophomore Wade is available next year. Palmer has seen spot duty and Mieras has found a few cleanup minutes after the OOC season ended. There will be 2 starting seniors next year plus the juco transfer who sees some cleanup time at the end of games. Severyn would likely have played the 3 or 4 position and she could have been an asset for the Jackrabbits this season. I am certain no one in Brookings was anxious for her to transfer to Vermillion.
