One thing: winning the Summit League Conference (regular season) for both the men and women doesn't mean that much does it? I don't believe it gets you much in terms of "bragging rights" and unless you're in a top conference, if you lose the conference tournament, you're done. I don't think I'm being too cynical in stating that money is the cause for this. How long will Summit teams other than NDSU and the two SD schools go along with having the tournament in Sioux Falls? I for one - and count me in the extreme minority - would have the conference tournament in the facility whose team won the regular season. It's something to play for. Rather than the conference champ host all the games, have 1-4 seeds host the first round then do a final four at the home of the highest seed remaining. So if the top seed gets knocked off, they wouldnt be the host. The Big Sky did exactly what you propose. If it was such a good system, how come this year the Big Sky moved their tournament to a neutral site such as Reno. The Big XII has been in Kansas City for several years, and the Big XII recently extended that arrangement. Kansas fans take over the Big XII tournament just like the Dakota schools take over the Summit. The bottom line is the Summit League Tournament is one of the few mid-major tournaments that make money. It was held in Tulsa before Sioux Falls and did not make money. The Presidents are the ones who vote on the location. Those same Presidents extended the contract for SF through 2022 for one simple reason, it makes money. The universities share in the profits of the tournament. The fact is the no. 1 and no. 2 seeds were in the women's final as expected. This would have happened had it been in Tulsa or other location. The SDSU Men have not dominated the Summit League like the women have. The years the Jacks men won the tournament, they were either the No. 1 seed or No. 2 seed so it was not unexpected that they won the tournament.

I think winning the regular season title SHOULD be a bigger deal, but right now it isn't. It would seem like the Bilas plan is as good as any to make the regular season more meaningful.

I think winning the regular season title SHOULD be a bigger deal, but right now it isn't. It would seem like the Bilas plan is as good as any to make the regular season more meaningful. I don't really see how his system makes the regular season more valuable but maybe I am missing something with his proposal. The only difference that I got out of that is that the teams are ranked prior to the conference tourney instead of post conference tourney when it comes to at large bids. There is nothing in that article that states any different criteria would be used to select at large bids than what is currently being used now. Very good article by Stewart for sure. The biggest thing I took out of it was the general lack of respect the mid majors get. This is my personal opinion and proposal. I think the conference tourney serves a great purpose and is looked forward to all around the country. I think reducing their meaning would probably be a mistake. My opinion though is that all teams that either win their conference tourney or finish in first place in their conference regular season should also get an automatic bid as well. I wouldn't do so at the expense of the other potential at large teams but I would add play in games for those regular season champs to give them a shot to play themselves into the field against other conference champs that also didn't win their conference tourney's. It would take some creativity as far as how to setup the overall tourney bracket but it could be done. I think regardless of how a conference decides their auto bid I think that team should be in the full field no question but don't dismiss the importance of a regular season conference title which is more of an accomplishment than winning a conference tourney which can be decided by team depth as much as it can be decided by who is simply the best team.

Thanks for posting that video. It looks like the Coyotes are getting the whole package with her. Good on the court, good off the court. Seems very well rounded and by those highlights she can shoot the rock. I can't wait to see what she will do in her career as a Yote. Somehow I don't think scoring will be an issue with her.

TwitterAny insights if Larson is going to wear Red or obnoxious blue? And, to cut off the predictable trolling, yes, if she goes to USD, we all know it is because the rabbits don't want her anyway/she isn't good enough to get playing time as a rabbit/etc. So please don't bother with those comments.

I would be surprised if it wasn't SDSU. Two siblings went there and her twitter has a lot of Taryn Christion on it.

Do the Coyotes have an available scholarship?

A better question would be whether the wabbits have room on their squad for her? Would she get any playing time on that perfect team you have returning next year? According to other wabbit posters on this site, you guys will run the table on the SL next year with the players you have returning.

You didn't hear? They cancelled the Summit conference schedule and tourney for next year and already gave both trophies to the Jacks. They are a #2 seed in the Sioux Falls regional.
