Exactly. I don't care how many ties you have if the bump is that much.

She would be the perfect choice to go there... If/when she does, Herbster can offer AJ her job at USD. Guessing he is looking to bail from the sinking ship that is State college as well...!

It would be a huge loss to lose Amy!! Hopefully she's not ready to more on yet!! Dude...her alma mater, the place she walked-on, was a four year letter winner and (possibly) triple the salary. It will sting for us, but for the sake of her happiness and her family, I hope she gets it. She looks GOOD in red! IF she gets offered, I would actually be disappointed if she didn't take the job.

$707k? I should have been a coach. With her love for USD and ties to South Dakota,I'm sure Herbster won't have to match that amount. 550k....600k tops. I am guessing that you are being sarcastic here. I am pretty sure USD will not being paying upwards to 500K for their women's basketball coach. I would have to say 300K would be stretching it.

Well Ryun Williams didn't let the alma mater thing stop him from leaving USD.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Williams and Nebraska already had a handshake agreement before their current coach was even fired. She is a slam dunk hire for Nebraska.

Just to stoke the fire - it would really make you wonder what the AD is looking for if AW wasn't offered. I guess the only knocks would be no P5 experience and no NCAA wins. But Nebraska isn't Tennessee, so I'd be stunned if those two items overruled all the obvious pluses mentioned by others. Time to offer Seekamp more $$ than she can make in WNBA to coach the Yotes instead

It’s the progression / reality of coaching. I’m sure Amy’s career aspiration wasn’t to settle down in Vermillion at age 40 and coach at USD for the rest of her life. Although it would be disappointing, I wouldn’t blame her at all if she was offered the job and took it.
That being said, Amy has built a VERY attractive program for a potential replacement, and we should be thankful for that…
But, she hasn't left yet either.

If Amy gets the offer she's gone. And who'd blame her. She's got one huge advantage as well and it's that she's a woman. Good luck to her because I assume this is her dream job. I also had no idea women's basketball coaches made that much. If any Summit Coach got that offer, they are gone. She has two huge advantages - woman AND former player/alum. P.S. not trying to be confrontational. I know you meant well. Just trying to be complete. No problem. I knew that and I think I was relating it to every power 5 position and not just Nebraska. Like YF said, this is her job. And honestly, it'll take 500k to convince her and she'd still probably do it for less.

That's a big part of why Yori's getting axed, you get paid that much and people expect wins, and they want them quickly,I'd say about 5 yrs they expect to start getting results. You don't produce, you're gone. Not even Gino Auriemma can stay employed if his teams started losing too much ,that's the cold ,hard facts. All coaches live with this in the back of their minds,to some degree or another.

Yori is getting sacked because she was the female Bobby Knight, her team was going to quit and there were lawsuit threats. She was the winningest coach in school history.
