That's a big part of why Yori's getting axed, you get paid that much and people expect wins, and they want them quickly,I'd say about 5 yrs they expect to start getting results. You don't produce, you're gone. Not even Gino Auriemma can stay employed if his teams started losing too much ,that's the cold ,hard facts. All coaches live with this in the back of their minds,to some degree or another. Yori is getting sacked because she was the female Bobby Knight, her team was going to quit and there were lawsuit threats. She was the winningest coach in school history. Oh,didn't know that.I guess their are other valid reason's also to get fired, I did assume a little too much. Thanks for the additional information. They had a sub-par record this year, very un-Nebraska like, heard they had a lot of injuries though.

Don't mean to get ahead of myself but if Amy does get the Nebraska job (or another job), any names that pop out as a replacement?

Why even bring it up at this point. We will cross that bridge if it even comes. There will be a lot of interest for this job especially with that salary. Nebraska is the 4th highest paying job in the B1G according to this. There will be more candidates than mid-major coaches, though I do think Williams is a good fit there.

Amy would be a good hire. But Nebraska has a brand new arena and they may be looking for more P5 experience. I'm sure there's some assistant out there at a major school that would be a great fit too.

No worries. Just wanted to get the truth out there. This is why it was a "resignation." Also, I don't want another argument about false expectations from the Iowa fans

I really, really don't want to lose Amy, especially to Nebraska. We finally got something going with the women's team, especially against the Jacks. Also we have energized a fan base that I don't want to lose. Losing Amy would not only cost us an amazing coach and person, but it will cost us some recruiting in the 5 state region. I hope she gives us another 4 years to coach up this amazing freshman class coming to campus in the fall. Hopefully Tim Miles can put in a good word for Ryun Williams, he has some Nebraska connections from Wayne St. and has regional and major conference experience. Herbster and Abbott, sign her to a 4 year contract please.

I get that the above list isn't all inclusive, but looking at a resume alone, he has one of the most impressive ones for a mid-major and would be able to be had for the same money as Amy, Ryun or most other mid-major coaches.

Probably because SDSU put the clamps on the "You Can Go Anywhere From Here" Slogan and made it inclusive to students only. Losing Nagy was difficult enough.

So what is the common opinion. What would hurt more, USD losing Williams or SDSU losing Nagy?

So what is the common opinion. What would hurt more, USD losing Williams or SDSU losing Nagy? I think it's equal. I'm not taking anything at all away from Amy, but if I'm the huskers I'd like to see how she coaches her own recruits. For the most part this was Ryun Williams senior class and the rest are transfers except for Bradley, Liveringhouse and B Arens.

So what is the common opinion. What would hurt more, USD losing Williams or SDSU losing Nagy? Normally I would say it's futile to compare men's and women's basketball in any way but that's not a bad question. I would agree with coyote61 and say it was equal. It's apparent that USD is strictly a women's basketball school and SDSU is combo football and men's basketball school, followed by women's basketball,of course.
