Does the WNIT only use RPI to determine home games, or is there more to it than that? I see plenty of first round match ups that don't follow that rule already, but geography may be a factor, I guess. No the schools have to put in bids. In one of the stories for today's paper, can't remember if it was AL or P&D, it said the bids had to be in weeks ago I guess. Not sure if everyone had to put them in then or what since they were done that long ago.

Pairings based basically solely upon geography then the host determined by who puts up more cash. Not a fantastic setup.

Kelly would have many people at the SLT dressed in blue and red concur with her points. On a side note, there have been 2 Summit teams in the WNIT. I cannot recall if there were 3 in the WNIT the year SDSU played in 2014. IPFW may have been in the WBI. Most of the Coyotes should be at the dome by now. Good Luck!

If they keep winning they could play in this order: Creighton, Minnesota, Nebraska and Iowa Nebraska and Iowa both lose tonight.

Guaranteed rematch if USD beats the Gophers. I'd prefer the rematch with UNI, we played an abysmal game against them without Seekamp.

IUPUI women also made it to the 2nd round of the WNIT. They will host USD (San Diego) on Saturday.

I'm assuming that San Diego put in a pretty poor bid. Will be interesting to see the attendance at that game. It is IUPUI's first D1 home post-season game. San Diego won at Northwestern in the 1st round.

If we had the arena online I have a feeling we could have put up more money. I was surprised to hear from people I know in Sioux City who are not USD people and I didn't even know were much of basketball fans, much less women's basketball fans, that they attended the USD v Creighton game (I think it was due to a local connection to a South Sioux City player on the Yotes squad). This kind of stuff creates buzz and pulls people in you would never expect. If we added in the new arena I bet there would be even more people interested in attending a game.

It has already been announced the game will be at Williams Arena. SDSU ended up hosting the Gophers one year in the WNIT, I think it was the year USD went to the NCAA. If I recall correctly, it was not necessarily based upon SDSU outbidding the Gophers but rather Williams Arena was being used for some robotic event or something like that.
The Gophers lost to SDSU and the coach was fired. Everyone thought AJ was headed to Minny, but it did not happen.
I am guessing based upon that experience, the Gophers made sure they were not coming back to South Dakota this time.

I believe Williams Arena is being used for some of the State GBB games this weekend. That is most likely why the game was delayed until Sunday. I know our group of 6 is driving up Sat. afternoon for the Sunday game.
