Frankly, KELOLAND makes me want to barf too. Completely lopsided coverage. Yesterday morning was a joke on heels on beating MN. Literally USD got a five second blurb following two minutes "what are your plans for watching the SDSU game?"

In closing, I will repeat something I said a very long time ago. To hell with the Argus. If I was AD, I would get very close to the Sioux City Journal and Yankton Press. Let the Argus do their thing, take whatever they give us, no expnd our media coverage in the other outlets I have identified. I know 2 of the writers at the SC Journal, and they are very hungry to cover USD in a bigger way, but they feel like people still go to the Argus. If you live in or around SF I get it. But anywhere south and southeast, I don't. It's kinda like all the complaining about Scheels not carrying a variety of USD gear. It's simple, don't do business there. Support the retailers that do carry the line. Vote with your checkbook. Same with the media. Completely agree about focusing on the Sioux City and Yankton areas. The NW Iowa market is open if USD wants to come in and fill the void. Problem is that Sioux Falls is the media center for the state and the state's newspaper and TV stations reside there. We need to get coverage out of the SF media outlets. I think the only way to do it is by winning, and winning big. I also think "Lunch with the U" or "Calling All Coyotes" should be expanded. There should be some annual event in Sioux City. The I Club has an annual meeting in Sioux City and the Husker booster club also has a meeting in South Sioux City. No reason the Howling Pack shouldn't hold an event in Sioux City given the large number of USD alumni in that town.

Media coverage in Rapid City is poor both by the RC Journal and TV outlets. Part of that is the distance to Vermillion. Hopefully the athletic dept is sending releases to all SD, Sioux City, western MN media outlets, etc regularly. I just emailed Fox Kevn TV last night for lack of coverage for Margaret and Caitlin on their sports broadcast. We all need to write/call to thank media when their coverage is good (i.e. Jay @ Midco, Yankton Press) but also when it's lacking.

Sometimes results from an email or call can be fast. Tonight KEVN TV in Rapid City ran a video piece on USD's WNIT run with victories over Creighton and Minnesota.

I saw Zim wrote a nice article about the Lady from Lubbock coming back for the Div II elite 8. I think it may be more personality, style than caring.

Looking ahead (as fans do) the winner of USD-UNI will play the winner of Friday's Saint Louis-Western Kentucky game.

Here is the updated bracket in the WNIT for the final 8 and the RPI's for the remaining teams alive. This is from top to bottom as the bracket is set.
Oregon 85 at UTEP 37
Saint Louis 54 or Western Kentucky 38 at South Dakota 62 (a bit lucky to host)
Temple 69 at Michigan 78
Hofstra 76 at Florida Gulf Coast 71
After the last sweet 16 game on Friday the Coyotes will have the 3rd highest RPI of the 8 teams left. The road to the WNIT could hit a huge boulder in the road if the Coyotes do win and have to go down to El Paso for the semi-finals which is a likely senario although that would be a nice inconvenience to have to deal with. That is the place that the Jacks run came to an end a couple of years ago.
Right now the Coyotes are in some awful good company with how far this road has come.

KEVN FOX TV in Rapid City has really stepped their coverage of the Lady Yotes running a feature each of the last several nights including tonight's piece on USD beating UNI. Everyone needs to contact their local media outlets and let your voices be heard!

CF - No need to say we are a bit lucky to host another game. I assure you luck has absolutely nothing to do with it considering how hosts are selected.
Great to host again in a venue that this team has won 29 of it's last 30 games.
