If Oregon wins we have (3) common opponents. They beat San Jose State by 30. We won by 10. They beat North Dakota handily, we won by 3. We lost to Washington at home, they beat Washington.
UTEP is 16-0 at home.

Man that was just a great game for our team tonight. WKU made a game of it in the closing of the first half, but it really was all USD outside of that. Very impressive effort over the team with the highest RPI in the WNIT field.
Comparing common opponents with Oregon is a bit daunting. Still I hope that Oregon is our opponent simply because there may be a chance we get to host them whereas there just would be no avoiding going to UTEP. UTEP really supports their team as they have posted attendances of 4517, 5023, and 7024 through the WNIT and surely has a larger bid in than we do knowing they can count on that kind of attendance. Oregon on the other hand has averaged about 1k for their three WNIT home games - we may be able to outbid them. They play each other at 6 CT tomorrow and I'll be crossing my fingers to hear the next game is a fifth final game in the Dome.

Any attendance numbers for tonight's game? I'm seeing 2749 according to Jeremy Hoeck. Second highest of the home schedule, highest was 3612 (though I question these numbers). Also, I previously stated UTEP and Oregon play at 6CT when it's actually 8CT. I had to do the rare MT to CT conversion and did it backwards.

I'd swear there were more than 2700 people there tonight...

What a great atmosphere for basketball in the dome tonight! WKU had trouble with the noise on more than one occasion. The crowd definitely was a factor tonight. I'm glad Duffy was able to play as it seemed she was all over the court tonight and has some huge steals and rebounds. Also, congrats to Tia on scoring her 1,000th career point tonight. She has given her all to the Coyotes and it was fun to see her get to that milestone.

Can anybody explain how the'bidding' works for home court? My understanding is prior to the beginning of the tournament each school submits the amount they are willing to pay to host games round-by-round through the tournament. Once two teams get paired in the bracket whoever has a higher bid submitted receives hosting rights, unless they a conflict prevents them from hosting. Basically whoever is willing to pay the most never has to leave their arena.

Attendance is likely understated because we have to pay the NIT per head. Guessing that number does not include any students likely paid attendance only

Think about it there were basically three sections full in football seats, that is 700 per or 2100. Down below and student section full. I would say actual was more like 5/6,000

Basically whoever is willing to pay the most never has to leave their arena. One caveat to this is they will also make selections based on potential. For instance, if USD and Minnesota had equal bids,or even if USD was somewhat higher, they will also factor in future round potential. In this instance, if they believe MN could bring in thousands more for 3rd and 4th round games should they win this one, they would award the game to MN.
