77-61 Final for Fort Wayne
It's official the Coyotes control their destiny. Interesting because that was a pretty big loss for NDSU and they also lost by double digits to the Coyotes and got hammered in Denver. The Coyotes lost once by 10 to ORU and that was the worst loss they had. They had 2 one point losses and a single digit loss in Omaha. The Coyotes on the conference season have been the most impressive team from start to finish of any team so far and are deserving of first place.

It's probably good the Jacks won. I'm telling you they are better than whatever their seed will be. If we end up as the one seed I don't want State to fall to the 8 seed. Not to mention they will have a ton of fans there. And believe me, refs get caught up in the emotion of the game, that's the main reason you see teams have so much better home records than road records. Those SLT games are basically home games for State. You will need to be 10 points better than them to beat them. Thankfully I feel like we are, but it will take a good (not great) game to beat them. If I had to pick a first round opponent right now it would be Western Ill. Now maybe that will change after we play them at their place, but from what I can tell they seem to be the worst team in the conference. Also, I think it's worth pointing out that our guys have virtually no tournament experience. That doesn't necessarily mean they will wilt under the pressure, it just means we don't know how they will respond to that kind of pressure, and they might also be carrying the pressure of a #1 seed. Who do you think has a better chance to win the SLT, our men or our women? I would probably give the men a better chance, even though they play a lot more closer games. The men are 5-1 against the top 3 teams in the conference with the one loss being a one point loss without Flack.

I also believe our men have a better chance of winning the tournament than the women, but stop short of feeling like we are a shoe in for the title game because we have absolutely no tournament experience on this roster. The only guy on the roster who played in our only SLT win was Sparks. He had two minutes that night.
That being said, through the regular season I really feel like our men have shown themselves to be the class of the Summit League. We are 5-1 with Flack on the floor, including a dominant victory in Fargo, and even stayed afloat while our most indispensable player missed a month. Not only that, we'll (almost certainly) be the one team vying for the title that gets to sleep in their own beds.
Not so true for the women. WIU handed us an incredibly rare loss at home and SDSU has looked to be at least on par with us. Our women don't carry a ton of tournament experience themselves. The only real returning minutes we had period were Fogg and Bridget Arens, no one else has many tournament minutes despite us having made the past 4 title games.
Both teams are among the favorites to cut down the nets, but my money is on the men.

Maybe in some cases but good officials arent going to let the crowd influence their calls. And hopefully we will have the best officials possible for the tournament. I looked up one of the biggest college basketball rivalries and possibly the biggest rivalry in sports Duke/North Carolina. Since 2000, Duke is 11-7 vs NC at Cameron Indoor and North Carolina is 7-11 vs Duke in the Dean Dome. With the Cameron Crazies, youd think Duke would be 18-0 at home against NC. There are plenty of other reasons of home advantage. Might give some credit to the fans who give the players a little added energy by making noise. Maybe its the players and not the officials that are more influenced by the fans. I know some officials and will have to bring this up to them next time i talk with them. I think they would be honest with me

Perhaps the most important factor. I would provide a link, but I'm away from a desktop, and not very good at that from my phone. Google it.

It took double OT but the Bison beat Western Illinois at home 100-91. The Jacks are leading 83-77 at the under 8:00 timeout in Fort Wayne. Daum has 45 points, WOW.
Teams that fall in the "no defense" bucket.
SDSU Fort Wayne Omaha
Usually the good defensive teams tend to have an advantage in the Summit Tournament. We will see if that trend continues this year.

97-89 Jacks win in Fort Wayne
Mike Daum 51 points and 15 rebounds. That just about says it all. You guard him 1 on 1 and that is what happens. The Jacks are scary right now. They are probably going up to the 4 vs 5 game for the tourney.

Mike Daum took more than half of his team's shots. He shot 48% while his teammates shot 59% from the field. I am more shocked that a coach would let one guy take more than half of his team's shots than the 51 points. I'm sure there are some advanced metrics that will show this isn't a particularly impressive performance. Really reminds me of Grinnell College in Iowa where they would let a guy score 89 points on 55 shots while shooting less than 50% from the field. It's more a bastardization of the game than an incredible feat.

I wonder how many of those shots that the other players were taking were open shots because of Daum being double teamed.

That's incredibly stupid even for you I'm guessing you mangy bunnies from the Ag school up North couldn't wait to come to our board tonight to see what we were posting about the one player on your mens team who can actually play ball...? Am I right? The biggest insult we could've given you would've been to not acknowledge him at all. I know everytime we reply to your idiotic posts, you probably get troll points from your fellow troll bunnies. Good for you.
