When buying tickets for the Feb 11th men's SDSU game I found that there are only a handful of tickets left other than the corners and behind the hoops. Most all the seats behind the COR TRUST suite and benches are gone. I'm excited to see how loud it will be as it should be close to or will be a sellout.
If you haven't got tickets already you better do so.

If the no-show season-ticket-holders are truly individuals, and not some corporation, I would expect them to AT LEAST show up to this game. Seeing sold seats empty in the lower part of the arena is embarrassing, IMO. I know the University needs to get those season tickets sold to pay the bills, but if folks aren't going to show up, why sell to them?

Is there any coordinated method for season ticket holders to sell or give their seats up for certain events if they can't attend? If was run through athletic department the seat could be "resold" with the U and seat holder splitting the price. Just saying. In this computer age something like that would be great!

Unused tickets can be exchanged for tickets at select games (i.e. games with lower anticipated demand). That's the only thing I know of involving unwanted season tickets.

I think that season ticket holders are free to resell tickets to games they don't plan on attending. (Or give them away). Craigslist is a common place to do that. I've seen Summit league Tournament all-tournaments tickets there for sale $250 OBO. I think that's a markup.

Do they still do the ticket exchange for Bball. They do not for football anymore.

I think they are all Wednesday/Thursday games though.

Wish athletic department would allow season ticket holders to leave all tickets at will-call box office. Could allow friends, family to use them without much effort. More fans in the seats!

Kiyoat - If you aren't happy about season ticket holders in the first couple of rows in the middle section not showing up for games, why don't you pony up a Howling Pack donation and buy season tickets in the first few rows, and then show up for every game? Seems to me that the attendance in the middle section has been great from rows 4 on up. i know my row has had great attendance. And for those of you that are disappointed about people not showing up and sitting behind the USD bench, you should know that the first 7 rows in that section are tickets held by the University and reserved for dignitaries, players families, potential recruits, and coaches families. These seats were not available for the public (or corporations) to purchase. and Kiyoat, if you were able to buy front-row tickets to the SDSU men's game for you and your buddy and your boys (like you mentioned in another post), that means these tickets must not have been sold as season tickets. That means you can buy these seats for next year seasons tickets if you'd like.

That means you can buy these seats for next year seasons tickets if you'd like. I'd just like to point out that it takes a lot of "ponying up" to get the seats you are referring to. According to the online ticket portal I am just inside the top 5% for Howling Pack points and still got stuck 9 rows up and behind the visitors bench. I'm happy being open with what I contributed to illustrate the seating situation here. I had donated $600 this year, which will either be a lot to the more casual/newer fans or a drop in the bucket compared to big donors, and I also benefit from 3 consecutive years of donating and buying season tickets. For a newcomer to the Howling Pack to get center court seats and close enough to be seen on TV (let's say 8 rows or closer) I would guess it would take a contribution of $1,000 minimum. This is all based on my inferences from my own personal experience, but that is an insane amount of money to suggest anyone new to the program to contribute. I salute those that do make those contributions and I would be right there with them if I was able to fit that into my budget. If Kiyoat enjoys those first row seats I hope he does purchase them as season tickets next year. He will be blocked out of at least rows 2-12 in that center section otherwise and can't buy into them now that someone else has a claim and right to renew the seats.

I might stand corrected on this but I think you can do that now. If not, I agree with having a system that allows it to happen. I will look into it.

Linus, Thanks for the suggestions! and no, I won't be buying season tickets next year, and haven't been able to get down there for a game yet this year. Although I'm an alumni, I have only really started following the sports teams again for about three years, and mainly the women's BB program. I have become a bigger Husker fan during the nine years I lived in Nebraska and Iowa. I'm slowly coming full circle now that I'm back in Sioux Falls, but It's hard to follow both programs (Huskers and Coyotes) while being the father of two VERY active kids that are in 4 sports each, plus cub scouts and music. (for example, I refuse to miss a Husker football game for anything not involving my children) I'm hoping that by bringing by boy with will get him more interested in the Coyotes, which allows me more opportunities to go to games. I'm probably not the one who should be "throwing stones" from my glass house, so to speak. In the future I'll mind my own business on the subject. I DO appreciate those that have the dedication to purchase Howling Pack membership and season tickets, and those that attend the games. Without all of YOUR support, the University would have a lot of trouble building first class facilities and bringing in these great coaches! I think we will see returns in terms of an NCAA berth from at least the women's team within the next year or two. The men's team is very exciting this year, too. Maybe we have a shot there. I went back and watched a little of the game replay (a feature that most teams lack on their websites, BTW, Go Yotes marketing) and noticed that for the men's games there really is decent attendance in the lower rows. It doesn't look bad. For the women's games, though (which were the ones I was watching before), the first 6 or 7 rows are bare behind the benches and scorer's table. This is magnified by the fact that the TV cameras only really see this area. There is no doubt that Coyote fans support their Women's basketball team well, but when they are spread out and "off camera" it doesn't come across on TV. Kind of a logistics thing, IMO. Maybe separating the Mens and Womens season tickets would allow those that do attend the Women's game to both get better seats, and to look way better on camera. Just a suggestion. Like I said earlier, I'll try to let those that have "ponied up" discuss this in the future.

kiyoat, thanks for putting together a good response. I appreciate all your efforts in supporting Yote athletics.
We have 4 season tickets for FB, (very good seats IMHO) and in the past have struggled finding who to give the remaining game(s) tickets to when we head south for the winter. We have given them to friends, stipulating only Coyote fans could use them, we have given them to athletic department staff, and finally this past season to the family of a Yote FB player. This family sat near our seats and always impressed me as there were usually 6-8 people and they cheered their hearts out. Their FB player played defense and every 3rd down play for the opponent, they all stood and made a lot of noise - even the elderly grandparents. They were thrilled with our tickets as they had more family members that would use them. After the season we received a very nice thank you letter from the grandparents. The tickets did not go to waste and I felt good knowing the people using them were cheering.
