If SDSU was at full strength I would have predicted the Jacks win by about 10-12 pts. With those 2 players out i predict the Jacks by 2 or 3 . #FearEd You are delusional but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The jacks just got hammered at NDSU by nearly 20. The Coyotes just beat that same team on the same court by 10. The Coyotes also beat Fort Wayne but a mediocre starter or two back from the Jacks is going to swing the game in SDSU's favor and by 10-12 points to top it off. This will be the toughest environment that the Jacks will likely play in all year. Last years Jacks team would not have won by 10-12 and the way the Coyotes are playing they would still be favored at home against last years Jacks team. USD is clearly the better team this year in a neutral environment and they will gain an even bigger edge with the kind of home court advantage they will have. So according to the oh so intelligent jackl the Coyotes (who by the way are the first team in multiple years to win back to back Summit road games by double digits) who just beat NDSU and Fort Wayne convincingly on the road would lose just as convincingly to a worse Jacks team (even at full strength) on their home court. jackl you are going to be very disappointed how this game is going to turn out for you. You pick Jacks by 2 or 3, I pick the Coyotes by 22. We will come back tomorrow at this time and see who is closer. I will come back to eat my crow if I am wrong. I hope you do the same.

I hate to say it but it appears jackl was closer than Coyote Fan. I'm rather new to this board so I don't know if Coyote Fan is always this over confident, but it didn't appear he was alone. Everyone predicting such a huge win must not have seen how we have performed against the bottom of the conference this year. FT's are going to be the death of us. It's also very sickening that you can't breath on Daum without getting called for a foul. He's good enough on his own, he doesn't need the help. I would not look forward to playing State in the Summit, especially when all the pressure would be on the Yotes to win. I don't know if the guys read the board or what, it seems they play better when they are doubted. State fans are always bitching about their zone, but that is what kept them in it today. Flack was having Daum's lunch when they were in man.

It's funny, State fans keep talking about how great it will be to get Theissen and Hess back, but if I was them I wouldn't be so excited about that. They seem to be playing a lot better since those guys went out. State has been playing a lot better lately, I'm kind of hoping those two guys get back soon myself.

Did not like that we got into exactly the type of game they wanted, a shootout. This was a game because Tellinghusen (sp?) was shooting out of his mind from 3 and we couldn't make a free throw under pressure at the end. 1/6 in the final minute, with two misses on the front ends of one-and-ones - effectively 1/8, is not going to cut it most of the time. At least Mooney also decided to go out of his mind from 3 down the stretch. Three deep 3s to seal the win is so clutch for a sophomore.
No matter how ugly we managed to dance around this potential landmine of a game and continue our hunt for a Summit League title. NDSU beat Denver today, so we remain 1/2 game out of first and have very nearly clinched 2nd. We have a mid-week bye coming up while NDSU travels to IPFW and Denver to WIU. Hoping one of them falls in this conference where the road team wins about a third of the time.

Happy the Yotes won, but no one will be safe in Sioux Falls. All about getting hot at the right time.

I will definitely eat my crow as I was nowhere close to being correct with what I thought would happen. Jackl got the best of me this time.
I in know way expected to see the Jacks play as well as they did. They were great today. If they play their typical road game they do end up losing by 20 more then likely, but the bottom line is that they didn't and stepped up their game. The Coyotes had to play very well themselves to get the win. For a men's team SDSU by FAR played the best game at SCSC that any opponent has played and they did so in a very unfriendly environment for them. Credit them for that. The Jacks will bring in better teams in the future to this building but those teams will probably not play as well as the Jacks team this year did. This was a once in every 20 years type of performance.
The bottom line is that the Coyotes won and have now played very good basketball for 3 straight games now. Mooney is so hard not to love. Talk about daggers when he drilled those 3 straight triples that resulted in the arena turning to bedlam. Yotes ya gotta make your free throws. What should have been a relatively easy last minute turned into a lot of trouble because of that 1 out of 6 stretch from the line. They were breaking out of the free throw woes but it almost caught back up to them at a horrible time.

Fun game, although missing two front ends in the last 120 seconds - ugh. It is hard to overcome the other team having a guy with a career day, especially when 8 threes are involved. Flack played phenomenal defense on Daum today. I think today we saw why people say the rabbits could be dangerous, but odds are we wouldn't see another career day the next time we played.
Curious why we didn't press? The rabbits guards look like a turnover waiting to happen.

5,265 was the crowd total that Kelly Stewart reported during the game... watching the replay now on ESPN3... Refs let everyone bang hard in the 1st half, then started calling ticky-tack fouls in the 2nd half.

Congratulations on the win today, that game was fun. Secondly kudos to USD on the new arena, damn that place is nice, and loud, my ears were ringing after that game. I can only hope that when Frost is renovated that it turns out as nice, not a bad seat in your new arena. What do you think, anybody up for a rematch in Sioux Falls? With both schools playing the way they did today in a sold out Denny, that environment would be electric.

SDSU seems to have little interest in preparing for any opponent who isn't USD #superbowl

Obviously a rematch would be in an environment slanted towards the Jacks but it's not like there won't be a lot of Coyote fans there as well. The Rabbit board is already hoping to get the Coyotes in the first round in Sioux Falls. I don't think the Jacks can replicate the game they played today even if the next game was to be played in Frost Arena. In Sioux Falls I favor the Coyotes by about 5 but a lot of that depends on how each team plays between then and now. I am not as worried about playing their team as I am the Coyotes having to over come the crowd advantage they would have there. Regardless of where a rematch would be played the Jacks defense still isn't very good and on average definitely not as good as USD's is. I believe the Coyotes have more avenues to victory but the Jacks would have to replicate a good shooting night to really have a good chance to beat the Yotes.

Speaking of defense, USD better figure out a better way to defend those high screens. How many layups did State shoot today because we just did an ole and let them go.

We will be fine. Once we stopped doubling daum, we were a lot more effective on D. I can live with tellinghuesen casting NBA 3's if we see them again.
