I like to think that with the way we thoroughly whipped UND we didn't just win a game we stole their soul and ruined their season. Sometimes there is a hangover effect that lasts for several weeks or even an entire season. It works both ways, you can't say a winning team is riding momentum and then turn around and say a team that got thrashed, that the loss will have no effect on them.
UND was having a good season, they soundly beat MSU, but their confidence has been wrecked and are a former shell of themselves. They're a walking MASH unit too. Their team depth is being tested.

Drake is all alone on top of the Missouri Valley, one game until the halfway mark. This is a team that lost to UNO, SDSU, and was demolished by USD.
The MVC is not looking good right now.

Summit needs to somehow strong arm MVC schools by adding football with Montanas and Idaho, potentially EWU or another school or two. Make MVC schools choose between the Summit or destroying their football programs. The Summit needs UNI badly. You would think UNI being relatively close to Sioux Falls would help. NO AFFILIATE FOOTBALL MEMBERSHIPS.
Weber is also interesting as they draw nearly 7,000 a game. They are less than two hours from Idaho State.
Idaho is building a new arena within the next year or two.
The Montana fan base is NOT happy with the current state of the Big Sky, if you check out their message board.
This could be a conference with good attendance and facilities for football and basketball, with meaningful rivalrys and large fan bases. It would be a mini Mountain West conference, essentially. I think it also has the potential to pass up the current MVC in basketball, if UNI were to join.
