I know its all speculation until after Saturday, but I personally fell like WIU is the least deserving right now to get in the playoffs, let alone be a seed. They don't really have a signature win. yes they beat UNI, but that was in the opening weeks of conference play when UNI was really struggling. That win has been somewhat forgotten about now. With a USD win, I think WIU's bubble bursts. UNi is the sexier pick right now for the committee due tot he way they finished the year out. If USD were to lose, then I think WIU might sneak in ahead of the Coyotes. A lot to play for this week throughout the conference.
Go Yotes
BEAT state!
HATE state!

There is no way they leave an 8-3 valley team out. Especially when they played 7 road games and beat an FBS team.

I know this is a different approach, but crazier things have happened. I agree with you, but I have think if they leave one out, UNI gets in over WIU. Just my opinion. I could not care less as long as the Yotes win and are in.

We already know the playoff committee has respect for the MVFC. They aren't going to leave out an 8-3 team, and I'm skeptical they leave out a 7-4 one either.

I actually think the complete opposite regarding WIU. I think they have the strongest argument. They played a very road heavy schedule and beat Coastal Carolina and Northern Arizona both on the road in non conference. WIU probably has one of the worst home field advantages. They don't have a dakota dome type facility to contain all the noise. That is actually the reason I think they are deserving. To be honest if SDSU, WIU and USD all are tied at 8-3 I think the pecking order IMO should be USD, WIU and SDSU. I would have no problem if WIU was actually first of those 3 teams.

So WIU should be ahead of 2 teams with the same record that beat them at their place? Hmmmm, OK. Not saying that they aren't deserving, I'm saying the opposite in fact. just think that they do not really have a signature win in the last half of the season while UNI has 2 (sdsu,USD). Yes they beat some very quality teams (I don't think Coastal is one of them) and are very deserving, but I'm just playing devils advocate here if the committee doesn't want to put in 5 Valley teams. You could reason that the Valley should have 5 seeds really, but i just don't think thats going to happen.

MVFC will get 5 for sure, possibly 6 depending how everything shakes out.

If all three of SDSU, USD and WIU finish at 8-3 and any of them don't make the playoffs (especially since they would have very similar resumes) then the committee almost puts no stock into SOS and it would be a total sham to the decision making of the selection committee. For the most part each of the MVFC teams that would be 8-3 are pretty much better than most of but probably all the 9-2 teams in the country.
IMO a 8-3 Valley team equates to a 10-1 team in an average conference assuming the non conference SOS is similar. I guess what I am doing here is making the argument for a 7-4 USD team to get in despite the fact that I already said they didn't deserve to get in at 7-4. Hopefully we won't get a chance to see the fate of a 7-4 Coyote team.

USD should be in the playoffs. We have a better resume than damn near everyone else listed in the opening round.

What sucks about this, is we win this game and we playing the "f"ing school up north again. Oh well, we kicked their ass all over the field today, we'll do it again up there. At least they shouldn't be cramping so bad since it'll be outside, unless we have a warm beginning to Dec... then they'll be laying all over the field again... on 3rd downs.

Montana lost, Northern Arizona lost, Illinois State lost, Nicholas State in Louisiana lost. All helped out the 'Yotes chances. The Montana and Nicholas games were upsets. Thank you Montana State and Northeastern (or Northwester or whatever) Louisiana. We should be in and I hope we get to host.
