Blind resume: rank these teams: (or just pick the best/worst, whatever) # | SOS | Record | Road | Last 10 | vs top 100 | vs below 150 | vs top 50 | A | 44 | 26-7
| 10-2 | 10-0 | 12-6 | 7-0 | 2-5 | B | 165 | 26-5 | 10-3 | 8-2 | 6-4 | 19-1 | 3-4 | C | 61 | 25-6 | 13-1 | 9-1 | 9-5 | 13-1 | 6-4 | D | 49 | 24-5 | 12-2 | 10-0 | 8-5 | 11-0 | 3-4 | E | 23 | 23-9 | 9-2 | 5-5 | 8-9 | 10-0 | 3-7 | F | 70 | 25-6 | 9-4 | 8-2 | 9-4 | 14-1 | 4-2 | G | 32 | 19-12 | 7-6 | 5-5 | 7-12 | 7-0 | 4-8 | H | 28 | 22-9 | 7-4 | 5-5 | 10-8 | 7-0 | 4-6 |
Answers: A-D were Charlie Creme's 7-seeds. E-H were Charlie Creme's 8-seeds. Team | Conf. | RPI | A DePaul | Big East | 20 | B USD | Summit | 40 | C C. Mich | MAC | 28 | D Drake | MVC | 16 | E Texas | B 12 | 29 | F BYU | WCC | 26 | G Calif. | P 12 | 41 | H Rutgers | B 10 | 30 |
I didn't have any pre-conceived ideas about this. Just wanted to compare teams ranked similarly by Creme. Interesting that all of you ranked the Power-5 teams the lowest, and that USD's resume seems to match the other 7-seeds, other than our lower RPI. Hopefully the selection committee can look past the RPI, and our sub-150 (barely) loss.

^^ interesting how much our Summit schedule drags down the SOS. Team E actually has a similar profile to USD, other than our one bad loss, and the fact that they didn't play any top-25 teams...

All the favorites won in the MAC quarterfinals. Semis today. Root for Central Mich. I caught a little of some of those games. The MAC teams all lack size, and I didn't see a whole lot of standout shooters, either. Just decent speed and ball-handling. If SDSU is really matched up against Ohio in the first round (current bracketology) they will destroy them, IMO. Like by 30 or 40. Also, I know this isn't a newsflash, but they were playing in front of, like, maybe 80 fans. MAC fans barely show up for football, so I guess I'm not too surprised. James Madison and Rice both play today @ 11AM. We want them to win.[/b] I noticed JM lost and Rice won yesterday. Rice plays Western KY today at 5:30. What does this mean for the Yotes?

James Madison and Rice both play today @ 11AM. We want them to win. Before the game, Creme had JMU as a 12-seed auto-bid, which should be a non-at-large team. After the loss, he switched JMU out of his bracket and didn't put JMU on the bubble, so at least Charlie doesn't like them as a tourney team. They do have a high RPI, so there's that. The bubble teams are usually around an 11-seed, but it varies every year.
Now - Central Michigan (in) is playing Buffalo (bubble) in a very close game right now. 12:00 - #21 Drake (in) vs Valpo 12:30 - Ohio (bubble) vs Miami,OH (bubble) 5:30 - #24 Rice (in) vs WKU 6:00 - Missouri State (non-at large, but threat to Drake) vs Loyola-Chicago
All games on ESPN+ I think.

I'm not really interested in Summit League RPI rankings anymore, now that the tourney is over, SDSU got in, and the rest of the conference is out but us. So I thought I'd look at the tourney teams that haven't already locked in a tourney spot... Buffalo beat Cent Michigan and their record goes to 22-9 and they'll play Ohio in the championship who beat Miami (OH) 74-48. Miami (OH)'s record finishes at 22-8. Buffalo just won the MAC over fellow bubble team Ohio. So at least 2 MAC teams are in (along with Central Mich). Ohio is the question. Drake vs Missouri State is the game to watch today. While the fate of Ohio is a little murky, this outcome is clear: the MVC will get 2 bids if MSU wins; one bid if Drake wins. 2:00 today, not sure which channel. Rice did their job and won C-USA yesterday. stats.statbroadcast.com/mobile/?id=251355Live stats for Drake game; streaming video from ESPN+

Update on the WNIT: the Final Four (semifinals) are taking place this Wednesday, and involve two former bubble teams. TCU is in it for the 2nd straight year (with Jaycee this time). James Madison is also in it, as the sole mid-major. Ohio also did well, getting as far as the quarterfinals (like USD last year).
I feel like mid majors made some big strides this year, but the top 8 or 10 teams are still very dominant. The NCAA elite 8 included only 1-seeds and 2-seeds this year, as usual.
Next year the Yotes should be poised for a couple more “firsts”.
