I’m really hoping the game gets postponed till Monday. There’s no way in heck we can get there and I’d love to watch this game. Player safety getting there is a large concern and the refs being able to make it. Selfishly I’m hoping it gets postponed

I watched the first and last quarters of the State/UND game. Here are a couple of observations:
1. Two of the reasons they limit turnovers are RCJ's good ball-handling and just really good and crisp passing and ball movement. On offense it is like watching a ping-pong match, with the ball bouncing inside to outside. They get good pass penetration to Burckhard or Bultsma, then those two are good at using their body positioning and pivot foot to get easy buckets.
I'm not sure pressing RCJ will be worth the resources. UND tried that all game, and she only turned it over twice vs 6 assists. Other players, maybe. Irwin has been turnover-prone in her career. On intercepting passes, I'd say we double the center or play zone? They REALY want to get the ball inside. They are capable from the arc, but deadly in the paint.
- on defense, my untrained eyes didn't see anything exotic. Just good man defense with good athletes.
- Burckhard is fast and sneaky at getting in front of defenders in transition. Hopefully with our transition defense, this will be less effective. We might even be able to use those deep passes as a weak point for getting steals.
- They have shooters, just not across the board. Earlier in the season they were struggling from the arc and the line, but some shooters have now emerged. I think the key here for us, is being smart about who to focus on defensively and in the fouling game. Depth is a little more on our side here.

Here's a "shooter's guide" to this game: player | min | 3P att | 3P% | FT att | FT% | R C-Jensen | 32.4 | 70 | .400 | 30 | .700 | T Larson | 29.3 | 37 | .459 | 53 | .830 | T Irwin | 26.6 | 50 | .220 | 34 | .647 | L Theuninck | 24.7 | 62 | .323 | 31 | .516 | P Burckhard | 23.7 | 3 | 0.00 | 68 | .765 | T Nelson | 22.3 | 46 | .413 | 54 | .630 | S Stapleton | 17.4 | 81 | .358 | 16 | .750 | M Bultsma | 12.3 | 0 | --- | 21 | .810 | J Ferrand | 7.8 | 10 | .100 | 2 | 0.00 |
Ironically, State's bigs shoot free-throws better than their guards. Burckhard Bultsma and Larson in particular seem to both draw and shoot FT very well. That could be a tough matchup in this game. Bultsma's number of FTs is skewed by her not playing as much at the start of the year. Larson is also their best arc shooter, despite not shooting it as much as the guards. If there is anyone we can leave open on the arc, it would be Irwin, followed by Ferrand and Theuninck. Bultsma and Burckhard don't shoot threes. RCJ, Nelson and Stapleton are their sharp-shooting guards. These are season-long stats. Some of them might be better or worse now, like maybe Theuninck.

We are supposed to get 12-14” with winds starting Friday night till Saturday night of gusts up to 50 mph. I live 2 hours East/northeast of Vermillion in Iowa. Roads might be tough. Really hate to miss this game.

Excited to watch the chess match. I think USD is a better team, but obviously SDSU is on fire right now. Should go down to the wire. (But I do hope we avoid OT so we don't have a repeat of last year's DH.)

Much will depend on how it is officiated, which is what drives me crazy about basketball. I expect to see the bunnies aggressively pass the ball to their bigs down low and attempt to get our bigs in foul trouble. Of course, we can utilize the same tactics against them as well. Should be a fun game. Cheer loud! Go Yotes!

26-6 after one quarter. I'm stunned such an excellent 10 minutes of basketball was possible.

83-48 Yotes win. I don't know if the women could have played much better today.
This is a big game to get the backups with valuable game experience. They showed today the future looks good.

83-48 final. What a ridiculous blowout. Mckeever hit a 3 in the opening seconds and the game might as well have been over. This team is the real deal.
