Here is the complete schedule per Jeremy Hoeck in the Yankton P&D: Sep 1 montanaSep 8 Colgate Sep 22 @northwestern (Big 10) Sep29 Illinois State Oct 6 Western Illinois Oct 13 @missouri State Oct 20 NDSU Oct 27 @indiana State Nov 3 @youngstown Nov 10 UNI Nov 17 @sdsu Sep 1 montana L Sep 8 Colgate W (But I really have no clue) Sep 22 @northwestern (Big 10) L Sep29 Illinois State L Oct 6 Western Illinois W Oct 13 @missouri State W Oct 20 NDSU L Oct 27 @indiana State L Nov 3 @youngstown L Nov 10 UNI L Nov 17 @sdsu L I think you'll be 3-8 next year, but I'm thinking you pull one off somewhere and end up 4-7. A loss to Missouri State or Western Illinois will make it a LONG LONG season.

I agree it will be tough but no one can say we are ducking the competition. If we are going to eventually compete we need to play them each and every week. It will only make us better. I personally think this schedule and facsimiles of them in the future will be a BIG recruiting tool. I like the schedule. With what USD has coming back next year....what is a reasonable expectation for the team record next year? .500 or better? below .500? These Valley teams are going to be tough next year: NDSU UNI YSU Ind State Ill State Mediocre IMO: SDSU SIU WIU MSU Where do you think USD will stack up? This poster has SDSU as being tough on the Bunny board. He plays to his crowd

I'll agree with that assessment. If we can hold our own, make every game competitive, and finish in the middle to upper half of the conference I think we can call the season a success. I don't expect a conference title right out of the gate. If we finish in the cellar then I will not be happy. That might be a stretch for next year. Until USD can prove they can win consistently on the road, it might be hard going for awhile. UNI-NDSU-Ill State-WIU at home this year.....plus Colgate. All those Valley games at home will be tough...even WIU, they like to pound it out with the run. With what the Bison have coming back next year, I do not seeing USD beating us next year. Could be a tough 1st year in the Valley. But you never know.

What is State's schedule and what do you project for them? Sep 1 at Kansas L Sep 8 at SELA W Sep 15 OPEN Sep 22 at Ind St L Sep 29 Miss. St HOME W Oct 6 Open Oct 13 WIU Home W Oct 20 at UNI L Oct 27 YSU HOME L Nov 3 at SIU W Nov 10 at NDSU L Nov 17 USD HOME W I have SDSU at 5-5 right now until proven otherwise. State is still waiting on one more game to make the 11 game schedule. Hopefully it's a cupcake to get their record to 6-5 (by my guess). Two games that SDSU will have a chance to win will be YSU at home and Indiana St. away. Both teams will be very good next year. NDSU and UNI probably won't be beatable at their place. The Missouri Valley has gotten A LOT better the past couple of seasons. There is much more parity between teams with NDSU and UNI on top.

The schedule is looks very tough at home with teams we would normally be competitive with on the road. I don't expect much from this first season under Glenn, but don't underestimate Vander Maten. If Josh can't get it done, Earl will have time to be challenging by mid-season. Also, even though the O-Line was better last year, Tripp was thrown to the sharks with no experience. We get a real O-Line coach ad Tripp gets to shine doing His thing. The wild card is still in how much control Joe gives Wes. Don't get down on a poor first season, if Joe can keep the recruiting lines open the next few is going to be exciting. Yeah I pretty much think this is right along the lines of thinking for me.

I don't think anyone has any idea how the Yotes are going to do this season. I thinmk that could be said of a few teams in the conference. Keep in mind that just two years ago NDSU ended the season 3-8 and the Bison faithful were calling for Craig Bohl's head. Two short years later and they are National Champions. I think we'll be decent given some of the recruits that came in the last few years. I think we've built up some depth in talent. There are to many unknowns, however, starting with a new head coach and new cuarterback for starters.
I have faith in the head coach's ability so I am optimistic about the season.

Just because USD hasn't done well on the road under a past regime necessarily means that will continue. If Glenn gets the guys to truley take a me against the world approach they can definately be successfull anywhere they play.
Coaching is a vital aspect of a program and IMO can make up for a slightly lesser athlete. I believe that a truley good coach can take inferior athletes and win with them over a team of very good athletes and very poor coaching.

We may be happily surprised by our new team I am just happy to have some new blood in the program that has proven to be a winner in the past. I think we will see a team that we can be proud of whether it's in the danger dome in Vermillion or whether it's on a cold sloppy field somewhere in November. We won't win them all but I can see the dependability factor of this program going way up.

Wow, CF. Glad to see you took your finger off the trigger. Happy New Year.
Now let's get to traveling and help win some ball games.
Missouri St should be close enough. Northwestern is just outside of Chicago and a not so bad road trip. I hope the western Yotes can bring support to Montana. SDSU goes without saying. 4 out of 6 games we can help the team over the hump.
