we have more season ticket holder than your average attendence so its highly doubtful we will be moving any home games 250 miles away Congratulations on being located in Fargo and having the resources that come with that. Strange that it has taken your school so long to tap into those appropriately. Before you start spouting off all those D2 championship stories -Why did it take the Bison so long to step up to Division 1 like UNI and the Montana schools? Guess you guys prefer feeling superior and beating up on programs that have half the budget your program runs on. Oh wait, even SDSU has whipped your school since transition with half the FB budget! Must have felt great to finally beat UNI last year after so many years. I am sure your team and fans will come down to SD like the cocky bunch you were in 2006 (with your mythical National Championship team) - if so, prepare to get punched in the mouth. Your fans make it fun to root against your program. Even your head coach is a fun guy to root against. Why did he get run out of Nebraska? Certainly the great knowledgeable Bison fans know that story.....Do you think he blushed when he read the story about the Arkansas coach getting fired? Hilarious! LOL....this has to be one of the most "moronic" posts I have ever seen. Where the hell do I start on this one???..... Interesting how you 'mock' our D2 tradition when you guys were in the same classification. We also won D2 titles in SB,wrestling and WBB......funny how I don't see USD with any of those titles either....hummmm. Jealousy...period. What is really funny is that we will have more fans in SF than USD will. Get back to us when you have the fan support NDSU does. Oh, by the way....check out how many playoffs games our FB team has played in our history compared to USD. We have something USD FB does not.....TRADITION.

Move up to the MWC - even Wyoming would own your school if you did. Chances are though your school will not even win the MVFC next year. See you in Sioux Falls.

Sorry, but as for NDSU's football "tradition", I recall you were the doormat of the NCC until the early or mid-1960s. USD's winning tradition, while not as spectacular, goes back much further.
On a slightly unrelated note, does anyone know whether they will be serving Bison burgers at the Sioux Falls game? I truly believe there is a small fortune is to be made here. Yum!

Darell Mudra came to NDSU in 63 or 64 and started the turnaround at NDSU. Almost 50 years.... is tradition. NDSU had sporatic teams before that but had winning teams. So having 3 "small college national titles, 5 D2 national titles and now 1 FCS national title" is not tradition? Explain to me what is then.

Where does your FB budget and athletic department budget rank in FCS? Consistently beat UNI at least first before you hurt yourself beating your chest. That tradition you have is one of settling to play much lower funded programs - congratulations for beating them. Maybe Minnesota should move to FCS so they can have a winning tradition - hilarious.

Are you kidding me? This is the crap you try to argue? UND has a bigger athletic budget than NDSU.....so what!! NDSU won championships when UNI was the same division....when USD was the same division.....nice try. We are 18-25 against UNI over the years....1-3 since we going the MV. What does UNI have to do with this thread? Plus get your facts straight about how and when D2 programs funded themselves. NDSU moved up when schools like Winona State-Moorhead State and others moved up and wanted schollies reduced to compete because they could not fund their own. Using the Gophers as an example??? They still have 85 scholarships the last time I checked.....so did Kansas, Central Michigan and Ball State. Have you forgot that USD also beat that same Gopher team. NDSU is 5-3 against FBS schools....not too bad. Since you know so much about FB tradition then explain USD's to me. How many national titles? How many conference championships? How many playoff wins? or games for that matter. How many winning seasons? Record against the Bison? I'm sure you'll enlighten me on this......

Keep feeling good beating programs that are less funded - bottom line! Iowa State should move to the MVFC along with Kansas and then maybe they could win the Championship like NDSU. They could start a 50 year reign of dominance. Your UND comparison in regards to sport budget is glaringly flawed because of Hockey - you know that! Otherwise theirs is much lower than NDSU. You are right - USD beat Minnesota - and so did NDSU - SDSU came close. The reason that victory was of note was it was against a program with superior funding. That is why your fans had such a hard-on when you beat them two of the last three match-ups. The Bison beat a better funded larger program. That is a feeling though lacking for you guys at the FCS level. Move your program up to the MWC and your winning tradition would look like Wyoming's. The past administrations at USD have been asleep at the wheel for the better part of the last 25 years. Those days are over. The transition will be a challenge for sure - the MVFC is brutal. That being said - prepare for the Coyotes to do their best to kick your team's teeth in that Saturday. Go to Bisonville if you want to bask in your mutual admiration society.

usdfbalum:
What makes you think that now after 25 yrs the USD administration is going to make a concerted effort to be a success in athletics?
Ya, the MV is brutal every week....the Coyotes are going to find this out this fall. Yep, USD could beat the Bison in SF this year but it probably wont happen. The Bison return a ton of talent. USD lost a lot of senior starters and has a new coach. Is he changing offensive and defensives philosophies?
If NDSU moved up to the MVC ,with time, we would be a better program than Wyoming...period!

If NDSU moved up to the MVC ,with time, we would be a better program than Wyoming...period! The program was actually discussing eliminating football at one point things were so bad. The University under our most recent President has gotten on board with how a successful and better funded athletic programs can play a role in attracting more undergraduate students and engage past alumni. The entire University facilities wise (even non-athletic) were neglected and allowed to linger in a state of disrepair. The most famous building at the University was literally boarded up for 20 years. The current leadership has invested a tremendous amount of money into facilities and it shows. Looks like a different place. The new AD is pushing the coaches and raising money for the new facilities. They will be among the best in the Summit/MVFC. Coaches have a new culture of accountability and expectations. I have been around the program for 20 years and it is a completely different attitude. Yes - next year is most likely going to be a struggle - but SD is going to surprise a number of teams. Hopefully your Bison are one of them. My prediction is USD will beat Illinois State and UNI at home next year as our big upsets of the year. No disrespect to Illinois State - they will likely underestimate SD because of the egg they laid out there last year.

Joe Mays is a starting LB for the Broncos. He was drafted in the 5th round in 2008, I believe. He just recieved a new contract worth $7 million I believe it was. Former Bills D linemen and former Bison Phil Hansen (1990-2000 - Buffalo) was at the Draft last night to announce the Bills' 2nd round pick. Stacey Robinson won 2 Super Bowls with the Giants. Tyrone Braxton won the same amount of Super Bowls with the Broncos. Steve Nelson played for like a decade with the Patriots. There are many more Bison in the NFL I cannot remember off the top of my head at the moment.

Any autographed memorabilia in your personal collection? That would be really cool.
