Well, it's gonna suck to go into that App State game sporting an 0-1 record, isn't it? Well, we're now 80% of the way into turning this into a smackfest

Does anyone know the team well enough to go position by position through the starters that graduated and list prospects? Some good information since I asked this question, but I was really asking about the 'yotes, since this is a board dedicated to USD.

Our fall camp has opened and there are reports up on e-griz. Have yours started yet? And if so, how are they going?

Maybe Coach Joes approach is to keep it internal. I know he feels like he's heading out to Montana with a shot at winning that game. I do know that.

Traditionally South Dakota has been a better team at home than on the road but not drastically so. It's only in the past 7 years that the Yotes have been so Jeckyl and Hyde when it comes to home vs away. I look for the Yotes to get back to their more traditional tendencies. When it comes to this game if the Yotes are able to stay in the game I think they will win it in the end. There is so much unknown when it comes to the program so an accurate assessment is very difficult to make.

Any news coming out of the first week of camp yet? I heard that a former coach was in town, observed, and then was asked to address the team. His comment to my friend was he had never seen a Coyote squad this focused ever. His other comment was that although he was unsure how many wins we'd get this year, USD was in great hands. I think Joe Glenn is teaching this team about unity, and of being one. Apparently a big change over past years. Intrustbthisvormer coach a lot, so it makes me feel good.

Make no mistake about it this is the first time that USD has had a true D1 coach. That in itself should create a sense of optimism. Glenn is a Coyote true and true. When was the last coach that was hired that had Coyote blood truley running through his veins.

But you aren't qualified to make a statement like you did. You may not have liked or respected Ed, but he put us on the football map, the first time anyone did since Coach Triplett. I am very ok with Coach Glenn, but don't start another round of putting Ed down or we will go toe to toe.

Stay positive, myself included. Joe Glenn wil perform admirably, I have no doubt. I just don't feel it does anyone any good to start bashing previous staffers.
We are very fortunate to have Joe back to Vermillion. He is a class act and deserves our total support. Regarding coyotefan, I'm not looking for a fight, but I will take one if you don't stay classy.

Is anyone on here going to Missoula? I am, and if you would like, I can make arrangements for Friday night. Let me know if you are going. Thanks

My wife and I are flying to Spokane on Friday because I have to be in Couer D Alene on Monday. I will be driving over to Missoula on Friday. FYI, if you are a Howling Pack member, the might be a reasonable chance you can catch the charter with the team. If you are taking a wife, it is $595 for flit, room, and tix. Solo might be around $395. Still a good deal. Fly out of Sioux Falls with the team on Friday, and come back after the game. I have been on 3 charters and is a good way to get to know staff and other fans. Let me know if I can help you out.

I don't see anyone bashing previous staffers so I don't see what your problem is. I am stating simple facts. I didn't bring up Ed, but since you did by the mere fact that he is now coaching high school football should tell you all you need to know regarding his legitimacy in being a D1 coach. He was a D3 coach before USD hired him. I wrote my initial message with Joe Glenn in mind not with Ed Meierkort in mind. Think about this though and think about it objectively. Look at the resume that Joe Glenn has with what Ed had when he was hired. They are not in the same stratosphere. I look at facts and keep emotions out of it.
