Is the SL terrible this year? It's appearing like it might not be very good. But when everyone starts playing each other in conference season then some teams will have to start winning games, and then those teams fan bases will talk about how they are just really playing better ball now that the conference season rolled around (ignoring the fact that the teams they are playing aren't as good as the ones they were playing pre conference). Hopefully we will be one of those fan bases talking about how we are really playing better during the conference season.

Significant injury to Juhnke and taken out on stretcher. Tough break for the ladies. How? What happened? I am wondering the same thing as you. I was not able to watch the 4th and fifth sets. What was the score of those sets?

Lost the first set 25-14, time to regroup. Not our best set.

Tough not having Grange available. She brings a lot to both O and D. Sounds like she'll be out tomorrow too. Hopefully she'll be back soon! Opportunity for other players to elevate their games. A lot of work to do yet on D! Is there an update on Grange? My fear is that she's done for the year. Sure looked like an ACL. Have you heard that she will be back at some point? If not she is a pretty significant loss. Today's game was brutal. Just brutal. I guess we'll see how this team responds to adversity. I hear Grange tore her ACL. That sucks.

19 points in a half isn't going to get it done.

We closed on a good run that last 5 or so minutes. We'll have to play better tomorrow. Sam Houston is good. They have already beaten Oklahoma and beat Utah by 10. They beat Northern Illinois today 88-54. We'll have our hands full.

Anderson lost his locker room and doesn't recruit well. That is why he is out. Damn, doesn't recruit well and still wins 8 or 9 games a year. He must be able to coach his ass off.

Argus just tweeted our U of Sioux Falls just fired their coach. 40-17 in six years. Very interesting. That is very interesting, I'm very surprised they would fire Anderson. From what I understand he's very well liked, has a good record, and is 4-1 vs augie. If Bob had that resume at usd we certainly would not be having this thread.

I was very impressed with Burchill. His stat line won't blow you away, but he was very solid defensively, and made some good plays on the offensive end. dbyote is probably right about being able to get at least two of the guards playing well on any given night. Last night certainly wasn't KPH's night, nor was it Bruns', but AJ and Hayes both played well, Mason made some timely plays. It appears Bruns will probably have to get use to a much different role than he had at UND where he was the primary scorer and had the green light all the time. I look forward to the night when KPH and AJ both go off.

AJ looks fantastic tonight. I'm hesitant to say he moves as well but he did not forget how to shoot and his handle is every bit as good. 5-6 from 3. Spot ups, step backs. He still has it. Good for him. He deserves all good things that come to him. If this is the AJ we are going to get this year I think we are going to be pretty tough. Fun team to watch, hopefully we can finish this off.

The problem with attendance and boosters is bigger than football. It’s an athletic department problem. Don’t be surprised if there are changes at the department level. The changes at that level probably will protect Bob from changes at his level…at least for the next year. Could well be. But we are at a crossroads with Bob. I don’t think the university can simply allow Bob to play out next season as a lame duck. This plays a little bit into what CE said above. I thought we had some young depth guys fill in and play well yesterday. BUT, I am afraid any talk of retaining Bob and allowing him to hire a new OC and make any other changes will be seriously hindered if he doesn’t get a new contract. What decent coach is coming to a new school to work for a HC with zero security? We know the assistants only get 1 year deals so they have leas security, but they likely tie their security to the HC. I just don’t see him playing out the 1 year unless they’re just going to keep the offensive staff in tact, and simply promote from within & make Warren or Paopao the OC. If they were going to do that, they could’ve already named one the interim OC. We are in a tough spot. If we can't fire Bob due to finances, we are really in a pickle. Easmus made the point about the trouble getting a quality OC in when the head coach is on the last year of his contract. And to expand on that, it can also be tough to bring in players when it appears the coach is a lame duck. But we can't exactly extend him either, or we will constantly be in a position to have to pay a buy out if we want to get rid of him. And how motivated is Bob going to be to get out there and recruit when it appears we are just waiting for his contract to end so we can get rid of him without owing him anything? You almost have to extend him or fire him. The damage of playing out a lame duck season could be more than what we will owe him.

Riggs would be great, but I have a feeling he's going to end up in Washington with Deboer.
I'm fine with giving Bob until the end of the year to see if we turn things around, and if money is a concern in terms of firing him then I would understand that. Right now I would certainly prefer a different coach, but I also understand the financial problems that we might have, and if we have to wait until his contract is up then it is what it is. It's not like Bob has been a disaster, but we also can't sit here and paint it like it's just NDSU that we can't get by. Year by year finishes in the Missouri Valley have looked like this under Bob: '16 Tied for 6th; '17 Tied for 5th; '18 Tied for 6th, '19 Tied for 6th; '20 Tied for 7th; '21 Tied for 3rd; and right now we sit in 8th but I think we are all holding out hope that we can improve on that. Should we be doing that much worse than SDSU? I don't think so.
However, if Bouman isn't starting on Saturday then I take everything back. If that happens then I will no longer support keeping Bob around until the end of the year. lol
