Is anyone else not getting any sound from the espn+ telecast? Other games I go to have sound, just not the usd game.

Do we give Baumann a series or two? Camp has really missed on some deep shots this year.

It's starting to appear that we might not be very good. Getting close to 6 quarters played and we still haven't scored this season. Thank goodness we got that fumble inside the 5. This looks like it could get ugly. That podcast might have known what they were talking about. Hopefully we can get some things going in the 2nd half.

Well this certainly isn't the performance that ND and sdsu put forth today. ND was very competitive going into the 4th quarter, sdsu was right there all game long. This game felt over a few minutes into it. Very disappointing. Hopefully we can put forth a better performance in these next couple of weeks. This beginning stretch is brutal. To be fair, K-State is likely a much better team than Iowa or (especially) Nebraska. I didn't watch either game, but it seems hard to praise an sdsu team for allowing more points in safeties than they could score on offense. Every MVFC team will gain more yards on sdsu than Iowa did. It seems like Iowa either played a very bad game or will have that stereotypical down year that Kirk has now and again where they win like 4 games. We have looked very bad. Don't get too crazy though. I guess we'll have to see how this year plays out, I don't think it's really debatable that Iowa had the better year last year and has historically been a much tougher place to play than Kansas St. If we are going to point out how many yards sdsu gained today without their stud TE then I think we should also say they are the only fcs team to hold a power 5 team without a td today. I'm hoping for our sake that k st is much better than the 4-5 conference record they showed last year. I'm also hoping Iowa has taken a big step back from the team that won the big 10 west last year.

That would be disappointing but I believe it. I have always looked at the alcohol sales as a way to increase attendance but if they take away the reentry after half time, it's defeating the purpose. On the other hand, people that were more interested in drinking than watching the game were already leaving at half time. Will be interesting I guess. There are a ton of people that go outside at half, have a beer, grab a bite, BS at their tailgate, then head back in. A lot. I've talked to a few in my crew and got a mixed reaction. Nobody is happy about it. The mix is whether they'd leave at half knowing they can't get back in, and that is largely dependent on the score and how the team is playing. So we're heading back to the 1990's and playing in an empty Dome after halftime. This is going to be a bad policy. We are obviously talking to different people. Everyone that I have talked to is happy about the alcohol sales at games. They say they were leaving at half to go drink, with intentions of coming back, but almost never made it back in. They are really happy that they will now just be able to grab a beer inside. They feel this is going to lead to them seeing a lot more 2nd halves this year.

We tolerate a lot on this board, you know, free speech and all. There are posts on here that I don't like and I'm sure I post some stuff that makes others roll their eyes or cringe. Wish I could say the same for the board up north. They tolerate absolutely no USD people even if a person would try to start a reasonable conversation. That's why, for the most part, I personally don't like it when they come on here and I especially don't like it when a State fan has a dual registration here and uses one of them to pose as a Coyote fan and tries to roil the waters. That said jackedforlife has actually been one of the better foreigners to come over here and has contributed a lot in the past especially during weeks when the two schools are to meet up in competition. I'll vouch for him. This is true, but he is dead wrong in what he said about how SDSU fans on the Bunny Board would never bash 18-20 year old kids. That place is no different than any other college sports message board in that they have good and bad posters, but they are the most holier than thou, hypocritical fan base you'll ever meet. We let Jacks fans post because we can handle them. We don't need to censor them like what happens to USD fans that venture over there. It's why no USD fans bother going over there anymore. There are great and bad fans at all programs. I can't believe any fanbase that treated Mandy koupal the way that they did when she transferred would have the audacity to say anything to anyone. They treated her like shit. Unfortunately it wasn't just online postings, they were saying it to her face every time we played them.

if not on roster, doesn't that mean she has been picked up by a team? That or she has simply informed the team she is not returning. I don't think she's in the portal. Maybe she's graduating and has simply decided to hang up the sneakers. I heard she is in the portal.

Though what I heard wasn't as definitive as Kyah, I have heard Maddie is likely gone as well, though not necessarily to WVU. She is still taking visits. That would leave them with 12 players, so three open scholarships. I expect Kayla will bring in at least one through the portal. I've heard similar things. I'm hearing most likely Nebraska or West Virginia. I haven't really looked in the portal myself to see who we might be targeting. Hopefully we are able to snag a good one.

FYI did anyone see what UMKC is paying their new Women’s Basketball coach. Looks like they are investing in their program which can only help our league. I thought I saw 345k Wow, I did not see that. Wonder what they were paying their old coach.

I sure hope me presenting the reality of the situation hasn't come across as me bashing Dawn. I'm not passing judgment on what she is doing, I'm only stating what she is doing and others can pass their own judgment on what they think of it. If Dawn was truly encouraging those two to stay then they wouldn't be in the portal. They really like it at USD and they like the new hire. If they felt Dawn wanted them to stay at USD they never would have entered the portal in the first place. Do I think Dawn is bragging to those close to her about trying to get these girls to WV? Of course not. Do I think Dawn is flying them out to WV to try and convince them to stay at USD? Of course not.
Dawn was great for USD, but she is now the WV coach. She is going to do what's best for them. She is as competitive as they come, that's what helps fuel her greatness. Would we have a problem if Coach K talked a few good Drake players into coming here? I doubt that most would.
I really agree with the last paragraph from yoteforever last post. Hopefully their love for USD will win out. If not, we'll survive. No matter what I will be thankful for what Dawn and those players gave us during their time here, and will be interested to see who Coach K can bring in from the transfer portal if we end up having to fill those scholarships.

South Dakota head men's basketball coach Eric Peterson announced the addition of Brandon Ubel to his coaching staff Tuesday. Ubel (pronounced YOU-bell) played collegiate basketball at Nebraska, spent five years playing professional basketball overseas, and has been a part of Craig Smith's staff for the last three seasons. Poaching one from Smith's staff, I like it.
