Let's just get it out of the way
1) SD State bunnies 2) No one else has a chance as the second 5 for SD State is a starting 5 on every other team in the SL

I predict the COYOTES will win their 3rd conference title in 4 years. I also predict there will be no pigs auctioned off at halftime. I have no prediction on if the wabbits will win their first conference title in 4 years or if the streak continues to a 5th year. When youre a mid major, does it really matter if we've won 3 conference titles in 4 years. If we cant win the Summit Tourney, it doesnt matter. YES. In fact I would say it matters even more at the mid-major level as its the only championship you are going to be playing for each year.
If the team went 0-27 but won 3 straight games in the conference tourney and then was blown out by 65 in a 16vs1 game would that be a successful season?

Anyone know if Ray Dixon applied for a medical redshirt? I believe that is a possibility even though he used a redshirt already.

I agree with a lot of what everyone has been saying. Except two things.one I’ve been reading on the jacks boards that apparently it is un classy for a coach to clebrate a win over a rival, maybe they just need to stop worrying about their cows or crops to enjoy a win but hey their loss right? Lol second they need to really quit living in the past, congrats they historically have done better, but guess what everyone it’s a new season stop tearing down your team. You want to know why students don’t come out and support the teams more? because you all sit on these pages and blast the teams even when they win and then don’t show up for the rest of the games. You want to be good alumni, show up to the games for once. Some of you have court side seats congrats! But even then, as a student I’ve seen those seats sit empty. So guess what this started off as a post in reaponse to a great coyote win in a great atmosphere, but now it’s turned into a lecture. Why? Because as much as you all like to blame the students for not turning out to a game it’s ultimately on all of you alumni who sit on these boards and would rather watch a game via ESPN 3 than. spend a few dollars to actually go. If there is anyone to blame for the way USD athletics have performed on a larger scale it is everyone! You want students to continually participate in athletics? Then guess what I better see all of you alumni sell out that 6500 seat arena every game. Like I said I’m extremely proud of the way our men’s and women’s teams now played! But you all need a healthy dose of r laity. SDSU has historically played better at home because th y support their t an. So do everyone a tavor USD fans, support your teams and stop being a bunch of whiny little kids. SDSU (10 home games) AVG 1,862 USD (11 home games) AVG 2,316 USD (Without wabbits home game 25,476-5,004=20,472/10 homes games=AVG 2,047 http://sdstate_ftp.sidearmsports.com/custompages/www.gojacks.com/fls/15000/stats/2018_MBB/teamcume.htm static.goyotes.com/custompages/sports/m-baskbl/2017-2018/teamcume.htm

One bright spot for both the bunny men and women's team was that nobody individually had as many turnovers as Taryn Christion managed against JMU.

I haven't done this yet this year but the time will probably never be better to post this. Here is the race for the best basketball schools (men and women) in the Summit after games played on 1/25/18. South Dakota 13-1 - just unreal and went from 1 back to 1 ahead in this race after last 2 nights South Dakota St 10-2 - top 2 an unbelievable 23-3 combined with only 1 total loss not between the two of them Oral Roberts 7-7 Western Illinois 6-7 Denver 6-8 North Dakota St 4-8 Fort Wayne 4-9 Omaha 3-11 Only 2 schools over .500 Nice work Coyotefan. Good stuff. These are the types of things people like from you.

Really thought the refs were going to give another game to the wabbits.
Little sister can't even win in Brookings this year in basketball. Looking forward to the men's win in pig auction city in Feb.
Lots of season left but the Yotes are in the drivers seat for their 3rd conference title in 4 years and the Jacks would be without one for 5 years in their most beloved sport.

Seems like everyone on here is giving the bunnies more credit than they deserve. Yes, I believe they will be more prepared next time we play them, but so will the Yotes. Smith had our guys prepared to play. There is no reason to suspect Otz didn't have the bunnies prepared to play. Otz knew what they were getting into coming to Verm. Smith just had a better game plan and our guys executed. I sincerely think the Yotes have not given us their best yet. There were many things last night the Yotes could have done better... how many EASY layups and dunks did we miss last night? I have full faith that Smith and his assts will have our guys ready to play them again next time. Our men are for real... don't give the bunnies credit for not playing up to their potential because we didn't play up to ours either. I don't think we'll whip their ass again like we did last night, but I predict we still beat them by 6 or more at that dump Frost. ...and I fully agree it was refreshing to watch the B1G refs not let Daum get away with all the BS like the usual SL refs we use - another reason why he looks so good in SL play and looks average at best playing against P5 or other big time programs. I am not on the Daum bandwagon... I even thought he looked smaller than last year. Are the strength and conditioning people at the ag school doing anything to earn their pay checks...? first cramping and now this... Actually Daum has had some monster games against P5 foes. But, you are a USD fan, which normally coincides with not being very well informed. We play poorly in Vermillion. Always have. I know of very few SDSU fans worried about last night. We didn't play well, did not seem to be up for the game. It was USD's Superbowl (see Smith after the game). See you in Brookings. Sorry, just not worried. If you're referencing Smith's "act like you've been here before" comment in the post game presser I believe he was referencing the goofing around with Kelly Stuart when the interview started and that he should act like he has done one of these interviews before. He was telling her he's never heard her stumble through a word in all the interviews they've done together.
But when tiny penis syndrome wabbit fans are constantly looking for things about "NOT OUR RIVAL" I can see where you would assume that right away. Actually I believe USD is 7-2 against the wabbits at home in SL play so they have been there before.

Not enough alfalfa bale dumbbells to lift around in cow town. Had to use straw and its not as heavy as alfalfa.

Any questions? Didn't think so. USD is still the best team in the Summit, and convincingly so. ag school is able to dauminate lesser competition, but faltered in a big way against a superior team. They were obscenely fortunate to get the results they did against us last year. Both teams shot well tonight. Too bad USD has a complete game to offer. You'd think their greatest strength would pair well against our weakest position. Enjoyed seeing the refs grow some balls and called Daum for traveling and two offensive fouls. I felt like I was in the damn twilight zone. I look forward to embarrassing the bunnies (worst name ever) again on national television in March. I am happy too but let's not get over confident. The Jacks will play much better than they did tonight in future games. They have a very high RPI and have played well against good competition. Tonight was the Coyotes night and they will have to continue to be as good or even better than tonight because they won't have the advantages in future match ups that they had tonight playing in their home arena. The Coyotes had their wake up call against NDSU and the Jacks likely had that tonight. What today does is bolster the chances for a Saturday game in the tourney and to me that is as big as the win itself. This is the way I look at it and IMO gives the Yotes the best chance to reach their goal. The Coyotes looked like they had more energy than the Jacks in the second half. The Jacks are not a deep team and T.J. doesn't seem too concerned about it and honestly the Jacks can get away with it with the light Summit schedule. Where it could catch up with them the most is in a Summit Tourney Final game where their depth could really come back to bite them playing their 3rd game in 4 days. That is why I think it is paramount that the Coyotes continue to build their bench from now until the end of the season. If and when the teams meet on Championship Tuesday the Coyotes can have the advantage in that matchup just because of having the energy. If they implement a high pressure defense and do some full court pressing along with their effective transition game the Coyotes could get many energy baskets and the Jacks hopefully rubber legs on their shots. The Jacks are a very good basketball team that happened to play a very poor game today. They almost put up 100 points on the Western Illinois defense on the road against a team that the Coyotes always struggle to score against. We got round 1 and that is nice but the conditions were the best for a Yote win tonight because the Jacks probably came in a little over confident and definitely lethargic. IMO Coyotefan this is where you are purposely trying to prod people again. SDSU came in overconfident and lethargic? they were rolling the first 6 minutes and leading or close the entire first half. USD has the best defense in the league and statistically one of the tops in the nation. USD made adjustments and our strong defense outplayed their "only shoot 3's (60% of their shots)" offense.
Guess what Coyotefan. We are pretty good too. We are now in first place in the conference, will be ranked higher in the mid major poll, are the returning conference champion losing one key player, and should have a higher RPI. WE ARE CURRENTLY THE BETTER TEAM. THATS NOT A DEBATE. that could very well change before the end of the season. Don't be a dipshit.
No kidding the game will be different in Brookings.

My predictions for the game tonight;
1) Daum uses his mouth to breath all night never once closing it 2) Daum gets away with 7 total travels throughout the night along with 10 offense fouls when he lowers his shoulder and pushes off with his forearm. 3) Better throw in 2 over the backs on Daum that never get called 4) Tellatubby (ag college player who looks 8 years old and like he's constantly sucking on a lemon) hits (5) 3's
Yote's by 6.
