Im concerned that although these kids have it beaten in to their heads that Coastal is the objective. Many are looking past to the date they circled on their calendar. Beat not USD but Bob Nielson, send him out of town tarred and feathered on rails (figuratively speaking) This is the only game this year that WIU views as a must win. Betrayal is not soon forgotten. Western101 - welcome and appreciate the insight. Having lived in IL I understand how financially strapped the state really is. It's dead flat broke - the school system at every level is suffering and only a matter of time before the pain is truly felt by everyone associated with the state. From what I've heard one of the main reasons bob left WIU was that there were such limited resources - he was promised things for the players such as cost of attendance stipends- from the university that were never delivered upon. To me he made a business decision - what was best for him and his family in the long term. If anyone faults that thought process then you've probably never been in that situation. What this topic really should spur is some conversation about the players right to transfer if their coach decides to leave. You are correct the players are the ones left holding the bag. The NCAA is a monopoly that controls everything and owns the players and everything about them. Most people do not realize that NCAA athletes sign a "contract" that says the NCAA owns their image, name etc. Independently a college athlete cannot sell a jersey with their name or likeness on it - the NCAA owns the right To do that. That's just wrong in my opinion. (Sorry my rant on that topic) So If the athletes were allowed one transfer without penalty in their collegiate career this issue of coaches leaving would not sting so much. We May have to agree to disagree but from what I've seen USD is very happy to have Bob running the team. He's been a standup guy and treats his players well. Hehas put USD back on the map. I look forward to your feedback.

I made the argument last season that Simmons should start at QB and Strev move to a slot receiver type roll. Yeah, Austin Simmons is freaking good. I've said it as well that Simmons has some physical tools that are better than streveler. His arm is power 5 quality. Without a doubt.. Dont discount the intangibles that streveler brings. Listen to neilson talk. He is not one to give glowing reviews of his players, he is very factual in the description of them. However he has mentioned multiple times how well chris leads the team. How he sets the tone, how he makes everyone around him better. it's really hard to discount that leadership. I would suspect that Streveler's leadership will only help Simmons in the future.

good job yotes. but beating 3 absolute garbage teams isn't gonna prove it to us have a good season . losing 1 time to ndsu for sure, other than that run the table! I have tried to stand up for you but when you say prove it and then after the coyotes do so you start trashing the team we just walloped then that comes off as two faced. Don't say one thing and then turn around and discredit exactly what the yotes did that you were asking for. +1 Could it be that a good team in USD just took UND out of their comfort zone and game plan? I'm not here to claim that we are going to win the MVFC but in reality the score could have been 60+ to 7. I understand we still have a lot to prove in order to get full respect.

...like you give a damn about our players. You, singlehandedly, are making your fan base look like a bunch of jerks. Contribute something or leave. I hope we don't have anyone over on your board being as pathetic as you are here. I happen to give a damn about the health and safety of all players. As a former player myself and someone who has suffered a severe concussion I cringe when I see a clearly concussed player stay in the game. Happens all the time and it makes my stomach turn. The jerks are the coaches who value a win over a persons future health. Nice try but you missed your opportunity to say hey yeah maybe I crossed the line on the Streveler drool comment - I probably went too far and sorry about that. But your consistent defense of yourself and meaningless justification just continues to make you look classless. I've said my peace. I hope for a great game this weekend. Players going hard on every play and everyone including the UND players coming out injury free.

I think it totally crosses the line of banter and moves into complete classlessness to make a comment like that about a play where a player was seriously injured. I don't care what team you root for - you were totally out of bounds. Streveler sustained a serious concussion on that play - and somehow that is ok to banter about? Totally over the line. He should never have been allowed to get back in. Concussion protocol my ass. You have zero class.

Casey's taco pizza is to die for... Guys all I know is Strevelers tears cure cancer...a shame he has never cried Yotes 31-21 What about his drool? I'm pretty sure he was drooling after that vicious hit that UNI safety laid on him last year. And 100% sure he got up and finished the game. You want to talk smack? I'm pretty sure Streveler would make you cry like a baby if you met him in a dark alley. Your crap is getting old- go back to the UND site.

Stats for Strev. Passing: 19/34, 1 TD, 306 yards, no INT. Rushing: 119 yards on 23 attempts, 3 TDs. All purpose would be 425 yards and 4 TDs, all this coming against an FBS foe. Seeing how many offensive POW awards he wins will be a game in itself. Anyone else think that Streveler felt like he had something to prove to the FOS?

Pretty sure Brooks has been injured. Donavan didn't look that great in the spring game. Maybe that level of performance continued this fall.

If there are injuries on the line just means we need to run a different type of offense. Good thing we have mobile QBs and 2 of them. I think the offense will still be better than last year. We can't afford any issue on the defensive side of things. Injuries there will cause bigger problems.

Do we know when the season tickets get mailed? I recently moved and hope they didn't go to my old address.

Ask and you shall receive
Love his film - speed is deceptively good and he's a strong runner. One thing we need from a RB is someone who can block in the backfield and give Streveler a little more time and protection. Bouma was great at that part of the game and is going to be missed. Perhaps this is the answer. Welcome aboard!!

To be clear the players at Minnesota were more concerned about due process and the fact the the university named all of the players involved - beyond the original 4 who were accused of wrongdoing. This thing is far from over and frankly the way it had been handled by the U is appalling. A lot of bad decisions were made that night by some players and they should be punished but some of the young men suspended were not even at the apartment that night and one was even misidentified as being at the party when in fact he was no where near the. Events In question.
Expect some serious litigation from this one and I am pretty sure some firings will be felt. The dumpster fire of u of M football is likely to continue for a long time.
