what are the transfer requirements. To go from FBS TO FCS? Could they play next year?

9 wins is crazy, and I am just that crazy. Haha fair enough. I hope you're right. Id love to be gearing up for tailgating in verm a year from now. If we stay relatively healthy we will be in the playoffs next year. 100% confident about that.

Streveler is still tied for 6th in the FCS for points responsible for per game. Add back the game he sat with the concussion he would like be in the top 5. He has a completion rate of 61%. No he's not perfect and likely cost us the ND game with those 2 pick 6's. But you also have to look at the receivers - yesterday's INT was a result of the receiver running the wrong route. Yeah Streveler gets the INT but you can't really put that on him. He's not perfect but I think we would be in worse shape of he wasn't here.

The difference is Streveler graduated from Minn. Streveler Still had 2 yrs of eligibility....really not sure how it's different. People need to get off these kids' case about transferring. Playing collegiate sports is a business. If they can better themselves moving to a new school then so be it. We may not agree with the decision but frankly it's not our decision to make. They need to do what is best for them. If I want to switch jobs to better my family does that make me a quitter? It's no different than switching schools.

If his big picture plan is the NFL, he didn't make the right choice. I hate Iowa with a fiery passion, but if he had a chance it was with Ferentz. Now that his recruiting process is all but wrapped up, I hope we can let this thread die. He abandoned the coaches that gave him a chance when nobody else did, and worse than that, he abandoned his teammates. We can continue following the likes of Compton, Starr, and Logan. But AVG is not a Coyote. Agree with every word of this. I'll let a few more posters get their thoughts out and then plan on locking this thread. With that theory you could say the same thing about Streveler. He abandoned his team, coaches etc. this game is a business. Kids should be able to go wherever they want if it gives them a better opportunity. Coaches can do it -see Bob Nielson - so why can't players?

I think the boys are getting a taste of winning. There is no let down this week. I think we come out strong just like we have the last few games and compete hard. I know this team is on the right track.

Nice try....that's not the word here. Go stir up trouble elsewhere. Disappointing that WIU fans would go trolling - that seems so... SDSU-ish. I thought better of WIU folks. Interesting that the WIU fans can't be as classy as their players who from what I saw and heard were very sportsman like - go trolll somewhere else and let's talk in a year or so and see who's feeling good about their program and who's not. The State of Illinois is broke which means as other teams in the Valley continue to improve facilities, WIU will be stuck with what they have right now. There is no lifeline coming. Good luck with that......

Streveler - this week's winner. 475 yrds of total offense, 3 TD's. That's two weeks in a row for USD. While we may have lost a heartbreaker yesterday if you all don't think this program is on the right track, you need to rethink your analysis.

Whoops - put my question on the wrong thread. Does anyone know if Streveler is practicing/available? Saw a tweet that Coach said in an interview Streveler was practicing and will start on Saturday but we'll have to see. He never seems to want to tip his hand this early in the week. We could see Chris for a series and Simmons the rest of the game.

Shouldn't we just all assume it's a 3 pt game. I think we should be predicting the number of overtime sessions.

Thought for 2017. Could Streveler replace Bouma at RB and keep Simmons at QB? I haven't seen anything from the back up RBs that lead me to believe we have a solid replacement for Bouma. Streveler already runs like a RB. He is athletic enough to also line up in the slot and catch the ball. Seems like we need to figure out how to get our best athletes on the field. Interested in hearing some feedback.

My guess is that we get no insight into Streveler for Sat. Heck we didn't know who the starter for the NM game was going to be until they took the field. Nielson's not going to tip his hand. Going to have to wait and see. You're probably right I'm guessing Streveler starts but it makes sense for Nielson to take advantage of the uncertainty and force the opposition to prepare for more than one QB. I got a gut feeling he doesn't play. If we are going to make a push out best bet is with a healthy Streveler. Give him basically 2 weeks to recover - and have him full strength for western IL and beyond. I think we see both Saeger and Simmons on the field Saturday.

What happens to our chances if Streveler can't go?
