If anything, they should have our full attention.

This game has always been a huge pivot point on our schedule. Those who attend need to be engaged BIG TIME.

#3 played pretty well, but did make a few mental mistakes and Bouman was visibly upset with him. He went to the wrong side on a couple handoffs or RPO’s and busted the plays. But 21 & 3 did a decent job today filling in for Thomas and Mansaray.

My take was rational but I am happy it didn’t age well. The path to the playoffs is wide open now. Just need to stay focused and keep working hard. They now have the benefit of believing that they can beat anyone, which has to help immensely.

The OL played fantastic and Davis really showed some creativity in the play calls in the 1st half. I was a little nervous after the 3 & out to start our 2nd half, but they responded well when they needed to get any points.

I hope there is no hangover. The worst thing we could do is turn around and lose games we shouldn't. We unfortunately have a history of doing that I am not worried as much about that this week due to DDays, but YSU at home with a smaller crowd looms as a trap game.

Feels to me like the pivot point in the season will be the YSU game. I REALLY wish the Murray state and YSU games were flip-flopped. I fear the atmosphere will be dull for the YSU game, and we could realistically use a DDays crowd to will the team to victory. Win that game and you are looking at a likely 4-2 record heading on the road for a winnable game against Indy State. That game should also be a W. Now you’re sitting 5-2 with the defending champs coming into the dome. Hopefully the team would be playing with a lot of confidence. But it wouldn’t be a must win. They would simply need to win 2 of their last 4 to obtain 7 wins and 5 wins in the MVFC which SHOULD be enough for a playoff bid.
Lose that YSU game and be sitting 3-3 as you go to Indy State and the path to 7 wins looks a lot more daunting.

Our offense, and OL, looked a whole lot better to me when we were under center. The OL cannot move anyone from their shotgun formations.

Gotta wonder what effect the hit he took against Illinois State had on him.

My guess is if Joy Bergstrom plays this season, nobody would be bagging on the recruiting. If Kyah and Maddie didn’t bolt, we would not have had so many spots to fill all of a sudden.

Here’s another aspect that’s not being discussed, Dawn had other opportunities to leave USD sooner than she did. She chose to stay longer, and that paid off for her. Rather than take a Mountain West type job, she showed what she could do in 6 seasons. She may well have left after 2020 had it not been for Covid, but she didn’t. Also, she didn’t exactly inherit a juggernaut of a roster. She inherited Alison Arens who played sparingly on WNIT team. Kate Liveringhouse who was a bench player. Jaycee Bradley also. Duffy/McKeever/Frederick were Amy recruits, but Dawn got them to stay. Dawn recruited Chloe & Liv, and sort of had Hannah referred to her. BUT that staff developed the heck out of their recruits. She is excellent, and I will be interested to see how she does at UM. It will also be interesting to see how she fares against Amy Williams.

I have my doubts AJ ever leaves SDSU. I believe it’s been mentioned before, but isn’t his wife a professor at the school as well? Let’s assume she is tenured. Let’s assume she’s fully vested in the SD retirement fund. Let’s assume she makes 6 figures, and we know he’s making $290k. That’s not a bad setup for a family. Why try to get happier than happy?
