Dawn Plitzuweit in the pre game interview showed just what a perfectionist that she is. I remember when she first came to Vermillion her goal was to have the team continue to get better and better like it was a journey. Of course every coach would say that but she focused on practice to practice and game to game. Like every moments of practice was to be cherished. She was not kidding. This program just keeps raising their own bar higher and higher.
It's anyone's guess how ugly this one will get. It's not a question IF it will be Ugly but HOW ugly it will get. I am referring to nothing but the margin of victory. What are the odds of PFW winning today. I would have to say probably 200 to 1. How about 101-54.

Good but not great today. The defense has to tighten up. I thought this was supposed to be a D first team. This year they can get away with playing ole defense but when Simpson and Hags are not around the offense isn't going to be filling it up like this and will need to rely on that D. The Coyotes needed this game badly and basically a survival game and it did show with the effort at least on offense. The Jacks were without their best player and best D player and that made a huge difference. I expect a Jacks win in Brookings as has happened every time they have met in Brookings in the D1 era but would like to be wrong on that.
It is going to come down to the defense going forward. So far the contributors have been Smith's offensive guys so we will see if next year the team takes more of a defensive identity. The Coyotes are going to need to go out on the road and get a win or two but most of the road games remaining will be difficult.
The Coyotes have a chance with this win and need to run with this and not look back. The team can do it, now it is time to go out and bust their asses and execute.

There is no reason with the talent on this Coyote team that they shouldn't go on a big winning streak as the Summit season goes on. The Coyotes are so lucky to have Hagedorn, Umude and Simpson on this team. Is there a better big three in the conference?

I was still on the edge of my seat with the lead in the upper 20's just so the final would look as convincing as the game was actually played on the court. Loved that the final score was the largest lead in the game as far as I recall. This was a complete beat down. The game in Brookings will obviously be much different but it would be nice to get a win up there again.
You know what would be real ironic is to see the Coyotes slip out of the top 25 after a week like this. They lost 3 spots after winning big. It would be kind of an upset if the Coyotes don't win by double digits in every game from now until Frost. Not that it won't happen, would just be an upset.

On the Rabbit board they are already looking to when the Yotes will lose Duffy. Remember Koupal, Hegge, Seekamp etc. They will be saying that about Krull and others in 4 or 5 years as well. It was also mentioned how it is likely we will lose our coach as well. Considering the rise of the Coyotes and them surpassing the Jacks I sense a little jealousy. They never thought any other program would touch them in the Summit.

Who was the Jackrabbit fan that claimed that the Coyotes couldn't handle the Jacks interior players. How the Coyotes would get schooled by them. They just don't understand how good Sjerven is. Frederick sure didn't take a back seat to their bigs either.

If this year proves anything it is that SDSU is never going to have a down year. Everything pointed to the Coyotes being the better team but so far I am not so sure that is the case. If the Jacks win in Vermillion they will end the year the better team. The Coyotes have to win that game if they are to save any semblance of a good Summit League season and an upper hand on the Jacks which is rarely the case in the standings.

I am so excited for what Krull may do in a Coyotes uniform. Is she the most exciting recruit ever? If not it has got to be close.

This was such a swing game. A win tonight and a win against the Jacks and things are looking pretty good. Now with the loss, if the Coyotes lose to the Jacks at home any realistic chance of a conference title is pretty much gone. Then just getting into the top half of the conference is tough. That jump hook by Hagedorn looks very painful and not real fluid. No wonder he misses it more often than not.

SDSU is kind of in the position that USD is usually in. They are now the under dog and it is far from a given that the Coyotes will win the Summit regular season or the post season tourney. The Jacks are getting better with each game for the most part. USD has kind of been in cruise control and not really having to come up with their best game lately. The Yotes need to hold home court and make SDSU have to return the favor at home to get things tied back up again.

i agree that anyone that goes to the game should be proud. i consider it an honor to be in the stands supporting them. i dont believe a team should automatically be cheered. i think by their play it should be a priviledge not a right. it is so easy to love this team. it comes so naturally.

after the stacked non conference schedule it is gonna be hard to get up for every Summit game. two blowout road wins. Take it and move on. Love this team.

Male athletics at this school are just not very good. Just as i was about to endorse Lee and admit i was wrong on him the team pulls this crap lately. crappy first year, very bad summit tourney game and now 0-2 in the league.

isnt it nice the expectations that the fanbase now has for this program. I dont think anyone in attendance didnt strongly suspect or just flat out expect to beat each of the last 3 opponents at home. Games like last night just happen. Many of the loose balls and kind rims just went the way of the Tigers last night. Both teams exchanged road wins the last 2 years. MSU is a heck of a team. Not many teams can match the basketball IQ of the Yotes but MSU and Drake can do that.

5-0 is all that matters to me. This team is showing a nice ability to play their best against the better teams and when they need it. Lee is making nice progress.
