Sorry but i would rather see fans choose to support volleyball or mens and womens basketball if they had to choose. If football will not play with their best effort every week why should we as fans put in our best effort. I am still waiting for the program to give its fans reason to be excited.

That game kind of reminded me of the loss at wyoming a couple of years ago where nothing came easy.
the officiating was bad as was the commentary from the utah announcers. it was funny how they said they finally had a chance to pronounce the name Kunnnnzer, then they got it wrong. it escapes me who but they were brutilizing another name as well. how many times was the video doing replays during live action missing key moments of live play.

what most people fail to realize is that last year was the make it or break it year for this program. it was already established before the season started that this program failed their test. this year only legitimizes that. Anyone that expected that the Coyotes were likely to compete in this game were in denial. For the first year in years i dont even bother watching anymore because it is just not worth it. i was too busy watching a team that actually gets it play in Utah yesterday instead. the culture will only change when those around it stop making excuses and demand accountability. i wonder how many people actually think the Coyotes will beat SDSU next week.

This is one of those games where it seems like everything is going the Utes way. Utah making everything it seems and the Coyotes nothing. SD is clearly the better team and wins this game 80-90% of the time on a neutral floor. That is why they play the game as the teams are tied at 35 at half. The Coyotes should win this game.

That had to have been a long busride back to des moines last night. Drake did everything they could to hold off the Yotes but couldnt pull far enough away to feel to secure about things.
I noticed Duffy was not looking for her outside shot much. Maybe it had to do with being defended too closely but i would had liked to see her shoot more from the arc.
Just a great game to be at. This team is like that addiction that ya just cant shake or want to shake.

so i have read about some peoples frustrations on why this program just cant get it together.
A program is only going to be as strong as the people around it expect it to be. There is really no pressure from any direction for things to improve. the fans, admin, etc just have too small of expectations.
my point is proven with the general feeling of the Joe Glenn era. There are way too many people that cannot seperate their feelings of Joe with objectivity. Many people consider it a successful era despite a 6-26 conference record. people made far too many excuses to accept his results despite and abysmal record.
People say Bob Nielson knows how to coach. He did at the D2 level but has yet to prove at a high FCS level that he can recreate it. I was concerned with his age a bit from the beginning. He isnt getting better just older. Remember when people were calling me out for suggesting Deboer. All he is doing now is kicking ass as Indiana OC. he was younger with upside but no one took him seriously.

This is just too big of a game to not be at. So gotta get that vehicle gasses up and ready for tomorrow night. This program is such a joy and gives so much to its fans. It has given me some great times and memries for sure. I dont think the Yotes have even played to their full capability yet and just knocked off one of the best traditional mid major powers. I think the crowd plays a big factor and being the first home game i think the Coyotes will have plenty of energy. i am going 73-64 Coyotes.

i figured i would give this another shot after a year and a half hiatus. We will see how long it lasts. I have been impressed with the start of this year. The game against Hawaii was impressive in that the Coyotes had many instances were they had to make big plays to keep the Bows at arms length. The Summit tourney game was not good but Todd Lee is doing his best to prove me wrong about his hiring. Just win baby.

Look, I'll be honest. I read through these threads sometimes because I love USD basketball and I know the guys. For the most part, I enjoy reading your opinions and takes on the team and the games. But sometimes some of you have no idea what you're talking about and with Matt mooney you guys are clueless. I had to make an account because I was so frustrated reading this. I know all the guys on the team and I know mooney well. For starters, he is not taking the easy way out. He is doing the exact opposite. He is comfortable here at USD and if he stays he'll get his 20+ a game and get NBA workouts and play in the summer league. Basically, he'll get his shot at the NBA if he stays. Most guys wouldn't leave because they're risking hurting their pro stock. It's a huge risk for mooney. The main reason why mooney is leaving is because of the fan base and the strength of schedule. The fans don't show up. And for all you guys criticizing his move, you better be going to games. I get it, no students show up either. But for Matt he wants to play in front of big crowds. We averaged like 1500. A team that went from an awful d1 team to conference champs in one year and they still can't get fans. I don't get it and he doesn't get it either. How can you show loyalty when people don't even show up??? Second, the schedule was terrible. This dude is a competitor and he wants to play against the best. The non conference is awful and the summit league is down. The dude wanted to stay so badly but he knew he would be frustrated with terrible crowds and bad competition. He has a chance to make a lot of money playing basketball and has a chance to play on the biggest stage. He's taking on a new challenge. If he plays well, his pro stock rises. He gave all he had for three years and he wasn't appreciated. That's the truth. You guys don't even know that he had hip surgery last summer and came back one week before the season. He didn't even have an offseason.. but no way he'd miss a game. Doctors told him he wouldn't play until January probably. How many people on here were at the summit league tourney champions ship??? About 80% of the crowd was sdsu fans. It woulda helped if we had some fans there. And lastly, someone said he was selfish? Ask his teammates and coaches what they think of him. He isn't selfish at all. You guys don't know him at all. You don't know coach smith either.. sorry for my rant but I had to inform you guys. Also, his head coach and the staff that recruited him left.. Thank you for the lecture, young man. It's refreshing to know that we're "clueless" especially seeing that no one here has the life experiences that you must have. Look, I appreciate you standing up for your friend and I realize that you're a product of this day and age and have different values and mores than some of the old fossils do, but your line that he wasn't appreciated was total and absolute crap. He's going somewhere where he's going to be a one and done. You think he's going to become any kind of icon there? Also, there are people on this board who know people inside the program too. Vermillion is a small town and you'd be shocked at how tightly knit the USD community can be. One last thing: if this is representative of your attitude toward USD, the program and the fans maybe this isn't the place for you. Your time would be better off spend on another new board bballtrainer1 where you don't have to put up with this crap. You have an interesting post and it gets right at the heart of the what I have been saying all along about attendance etc. You don't need to deal with the bigotry that you will run into here.

After watching the spring game my prediction 3 to 4 wins. DB play was horrible. D is in trouble!!!!! AT KANSAS STATE. L VS NORTHERN COLORADO W AT WEBER STATE. L AT SOUTHERN ILLINOIS. L VS MISSOURI STATE. W VS NORTHERN IOWA. L AT YOUNGSTOWN STATE L VS NORTH DAKOTA STATE L AT INDIANA STATE. W VS WESTERN ILLINOIS. TU AT SOUTH DAKOTA STATE. L Wow, that glass is half empty isn't it! May I suggest season tickets next to CF! The two of you can look at everything thru your own glasses and criticize every move. No reason to think there is a lot of talent on this team and the coaching staff just might know what they are doing? Might as well forget next year, fire the staff, shutter the program and spend my fall doing something other than watching Coyote Football! usdyotes, You don't have to take this attitude from other posters by being honest. I think a 4 win season is more likely than a 9 win season which is what some are predicting. Come on over to the board I created where you opinion will be value. coyote-nation.freeforums.net/

coyote-nation.freeforums.net/If anyone wants to join a board that is truly for all posters and does not single out people that are not pro Coyote cool aid drinkers 100% of the time come on over and talk some Yotes. It has been proven since I was banned for no good reason that people that post something of their opinion that isn't 100% complimentary to everything USD that those people also get chastized as well. I will be done posting here until the culture changes (which will likely never happen) and is actually open to all people or all opinions. My last post was about being fair to Todd Lee and I get banned for it basically with no explanation given. When people don't like what I have to say they will personally attack me with no repercussion what-so-ever. That type of behavior will not be tolerated on the new board that I have created. There are some very low class posters on this board. Cousin Eddie, Elcoyote and Yotes are the three that come to mind. They are what epitomize the meaning of the work "bigot". People that are not of their beliefs are crucified. That includes a couple of recent posters so is not just me. Yoteforever gets honorable mention as well but he doesn't typically stoop as low as the above mentioned 3.

If anyone is familiar with the book "The Caine Mutiny" it appears we have our very own Captain Queeg. The level of narcissism and paranoia is off the charts. How is asking everyone else to be fair in how they view Lee narcissistic in any way or have anything to do with paranoia. So lets get this straight. I come in skeptical of the hire but do state clearly that I will support Lee. Then someone asks me to give Lee a chance even though I already said that I would. Then I ask everyone to be fair in how we judge Lee going forward. I really fail to see the issue anyone would have with that. I shouldn't be surprised in the reaction since I rarely get a fair shake on this board. People have such pre conceived biases that it doesn't really matter the content of what I write because people in here know the art of cherry picking very well. People have chosen to hate on it and their mind cannot be changed. I have times that I am completely complimentary of one team or another but as soon as I take a more realistic approach suddenly the tone changes. Basically I have to either get drunk on red cool aid or I am an outsider that has issues and should be ashamed to be a Coyote Fan. What isn't cool is to see how many people are so buried in the Coyote sand that they lose all ability to think objectively. I will continue to fight the fight.

That is funny. I am now ruining a thread by asking people to be fair about how they look at Lee. People want it both ways and that is not the way it works. If you are going to give credit for something you have to have the opposite balance and have blame be on the other side of the coin. Sorry if that is such a terrible out look on life. I guess I need to go back to college. All my correct answers count but my wrong ones are discarded. A certain way to be at the top of the class. Gosh I need to take a more realistic outlook.

1.) How does one “sign” a “verbal” contract? 2.) Every coach/boss/person in authority is accountable for results 3.) You keep referring to Joe Glenn. You were an advocate that he was unqualified and a terrible coach. That he was a failure. Whether you agree or not ( and I know you won’t ) Joe Glenn actually got USD kick started and moving forward. He inherited D2 football players, and had to build up the quality of kids skill sets. Also, Joe wasn’t given the budget to succeed. His coaching staff was not D1 quality. Anyone and everyone familiar with the sport knew that, but Sayler didn’t deliver up front. That’s a fact. 4.) Mooney put himself out there before the hire of Coach Lee. IF coach Lee does convince him to stay, he deserves a ton of credit. If Mooney leaves, which I think he will, Lee has ZERO culpability ( your new word of the day ). Right now Matt Mooney has stars in his eyes. A number of big time coaches are recruiting him all over again. Beard, Hurley, McDermott, Prohm, etc. Matt probably feels special. Coach Lee in my opinion is doing all he can do to convince him that staying is the right thing. Just for the record, Utah States top player is transferring as well. Koby something or other. Does that make Craig culpable? 5.) Your comment it looks like we have a de-commit already, the tone speaks for itself. It’s like you’re saying “ well $hit, he already lost this guy”. That recruit doesn’t have a relationship with Coach Lee. It’s natural a 17-18 year old kid would question why he should go to a school where the coaches that really recruited him left before he set one foot on campus. In my opinion, here’s what you need to watch. Will that kid that de-commited be recruited now by Smith at Utah State? If not, why? 6.) Coach has been our man one week, and I guaranty YOU HAVE NO CLUE who the man has reached out to or is recruiting. NO CLUE. The bottom line to your post, like the vast majority of your posts is to draw attention to yourself through negative posting. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Tick tock In what way did Glen get the program kick started. People still complain about the Coyote depth on the lines and on defense. If Glen left the program in such good shape why do so many people continue to talk about the general team depth. That has been a consistent argument from day 1 under Nielson. Glen did nothing other than act as an unofficial cheerleader for the program. In no way did he have the program on a consistent competitive level in the Valley and that cannot be legitimately argued against. If winning means 0% to someone than Glen was awesome. The reason I continue to bring up Glen is that it proves how so many people of the USD fan base have such a little amount of expectation for the program. It can be argued whether or not Glen was a good hire. What can't be legitimately argued is that he did a good job with the program, unless like I said winning means 0% to someone.
