Perhaps the Art Department can make a "little brown jug" or maybe a vase with the likeness of each of the team mascots inscribed on it.
When the winner has the trophy, they can put whatever they choose inside. For example: (Bulldog) food, Bluejay food, etc. Just in case any State fans are tuning in - no liquids! If you know what I mean.

Had to smile when I saw you posted "the" in front of Ohio Sate University.
It wouldn't surprise me that someday when looking at a map of the United States we see the words "The Ohio" instead of simply "Ohio". Just a matter of time I suppose.

I'm a bit shocked by the numbers. About the only time I tune into KELO is when I know the Coyotes have a contest and I want to see the highlights on the sports show. Last night's video at Frost Arena looked to be a full crowd, while the video for the Yotes game showed a lot of empty seats. If the attendance numbers above are true, you wouldn't know it. Did anyone else get this impression?
I think this has a lot to do with the camera angles. I know we have tread this ground before but I suggest our Coyote marketing Department take a look at this issue and see if they can get a camera angle that shows a few more of those in attendance.

MBA plans or not, hopefully he achieves great success on the court - to the extent he receives many accolades including favorable mention on this board.
Don't know about the rest of you folks but if I join in, I'll certainly have to watch my spelling. Whew!

Sorry, I didn't "look before typing" when I posted a cramps-related message under the STATE WEEK thread.
On the other hand, can you have too many crampgate-related posts on this board? Perhaps not.

It may be 45 degrees or so outside, but it be warm - I dare say hot in the Dome. So hot that quite possibly a few State players will once again "cramp up" at certain crucial points in the game when respite is needed.
If there aren't at least 4 "cramp outs" (aka time outs) by State players during the game I will surely be disappointed. I mean, the closer the game, the more cramping outs there will be.

A lot of negativity here. I don't see how it gets us further down the road of righting the ship. If we must have something it is optimism. You have to FEEL that you can succeed, even if you don't. Try something and let failure stop you - you ain't gonna make the grade. As for the Yotes, well, we have to keep trying to win and not let failure stop us. Frankly, with our coaching situation that is the only practical choice.
To a great extent I think our "system" needs a major adjustment if not overhaul. Yes, we can win a few games a year against a couple of our lower level MVFC peers. However, we seem to be consistently incapable of beating whatever teams are at or near the top of the conference any given year. There is no magic bullet here but consistently losing absolutely demands that something must change. We need to develop an approach whereby we focus on competing with NDSUs, etc. and let the rest take care of themselves.
In regard to recruiting, if this means casting a wider recruiting net, then I'm all for it. My inclination is to focus on the OL and DL. I don't care where they're from. I remember way back when coach Joe Salem cast a wide net and started building a program with a lot of far-flung out of state players. Prior to that (with a SD quarterback even) we were doormats to nearly everybody. Those new recruits helped turn things around and the program began to challenge for the conference championship every year. After a few years Salem also installed a new system (wishbone) which resulted in much success.
I'm not on any bandwagon to get a new coach (at least yet) but I'm certainly wanting to challenge our coaching staff to change things up. I still FEEL we can succeed.

Looking back 4 years, does this mean the current NDSU QB has to "break his wrist" or gets injured for us to win?
Bison supporters all point to this as the reason they lost. Evidently the other 21 players were crap.
We lost our starting RB in that game as well and had nowhere near the depth of the Bison. If we win, I hope it will be "straight up" just like four years ago. History shows we can do it. Let's do it again.

Good message, Yoteforever. I have ponied up $$$$ over the past few years to be a member of the Howling Pack (one of the best monikers in all of college football in my opinion) but after some recent, very disappointing losses I thought maybe my money should go elsewhere. Your message helped erase those thoughts. In fact, now I'm thinking of upping my support next year.
We all know coaching is critical to player development and team success. I stated previously that continuity is a big part of that. It may be a hard sell to get some Pack members to contribute again next year. I don't know and hope not. It won't be for me.

I saw the SIU game and now am an expert critic of this team. Imagine that!
Okay - given very limited observation, my conclusion was that this team is weak in the middle defensively. We couldn't stop the run and we couldn't pressure their QB in any consistent way. You're going to lose a lot of games of you don't have that. Line play has a lot to do with the outcome of any football game. Simple as that.
Fire the head coach who has a 5-year contract? We know that's very unlikely. Fire assistant coaches or coordinators? I'm not sure. Maybe the message is that we need continuity and (unfortunately) an opportunity for those involved to succeed by learning through/after failure. It will take hard work. A lot of hard work. If a coach isn't up to it, then cut them loose.
Next year I will be "fire and brimstone" if we don't have success. Right now, I'm afraid we will have to play with the hand we're dealt. Unfortunately, that hand sucks.

To me, after watching them last week, it's the defensive line that will make a difference in this - and realistically every game we play. Play like last time out and we'll likely lose. Stop the run and pressure the quarterback much of the time and we win.
I honestly don't know if we have the personnel to do this, but I'm hoping and hope is all I have at this point. Play like a PACK of hungry howling COYOTES!

Had a few beers in the tailgate area before the game. My biggest regret was that I didn't have a few more.

Going to THE GAME this weekend. Only once this year, making the long trip. We'll see if my Yotes have the perseverance, fire and confidence to win this game. Go Yotes !!

Last night a great horned owl in our backyard was going "who, who....who-who-who". Then, awhile later a pack of animals were howling at the moon. Who was it? The COYOTES, of course!
Go Coyotes!! Nice win.
