Don't see why they couldn't have those cold-weather, late November/December play-off games in the Dakota Dome. Come on, we're one state.

Thanks for the explanation. Wonder what would have happened if those early settlers had come from Long Island, NY, home of the Poospatuck Indian tribe.

Great interview; thanks for posting.
As we know, there was a little spelling error in the story above: Onida is a great little sports town in central South Dakota. Oneida, on the other hand, I think makes silverware.

What track? Maybe short for track and field. I'd say bet on that pole vaulter guy from USD.

I don't want this thread to careen into a political debate. Please limit discussion to voting turnout rather than voter fraud/voter suppression, which are partisan and contentious issues. Maybe I shouldn't have started this thread in the first place. Mods, feel free to end it if necessary. Let's not be too sensitive. After all we are off-topic here and no one is forced to read these posts. I say you did good kiyoat!

Question for Adm: isn't it time to erase the decommit on the list of "Official 2019 Commits"?
I guess there could be a thread/list of "Official 2019 DEcommits" for those who are interested. Just saying...

Yes, congrats to the women and men for finding some light on what otherwise was a dark day for Coyotes athletics. My challenge to both teams is to get better and sink the hopes of both the NDSU and SDSU teams for next year when we take both conference championships. You can and will do it!

One way to help address the problem of limited seating next year is to sell split season tickets, at least for some seats. Instead of selling tickets for all 6 home games, just sell tickets for 3 home games to one set of ticket holders and 3 for another set. The issue might be which games go with each set, but it could be settled on a limited basis.
Living over 470 miles from Vermillion I'm only able to see about two home games, but I'd buy season tickets under that arrangement; probably to the first 3 homes games. What do others think?

I don't know what the series record is when UND and NDSU match up in football. It wouldn't surprise me if UND was ahead. I do know that down the road, when NDSU plays at UND they will have their hands full.
I say it's about time that we have that matchup, but in all honesty, I hardly ever think of UND or NDSU unless we're playing them.
Anyway, keep plugging away al, I don't mind you really. You're a known commodity and that's fine.

NDSU has pretty much played the same way every year for decades: Play field position; good defense; wait for the other team to make mistakes and capitalize on them; etc. They could do that because their lines usually dominated.
I'd say to simply punch them in the nose but we can't do that anymore. Football just isn't what it used to be.
No point in this....just reflecting on the few times the Coyotes took on the city slickers from mighty Fargo and beat them (or, maybe beat them up?). Go Yotes!! Fire up dam mit!!

Agree with you on all points except my comment about out-of-state interests. Maybe more South Dakotans would pony up to finance special interest ballot issues but it would pale in comparison to out-of-state money. South Dakota is not a wealthy state. It is a moot issue anyway because we know that outstate money cannot be banned.
By the way, wouldn't it be great if the USD Political Science Department held a discussion on this topic on SDPB before the election? I'd tune in.

Hey, let's put a positive spin on this.
Instead of someone stating that one (or some) coaches should lose their jobs, they state said coaches should find another job?

I didn't see the game. Went to my daughter's and raked leaves. Made a good choice.

I know I'm treading on quicksand here a bit because I'm not as concerned about the number of people voting as I am about making an informed decision when people do vote. This means taking time to understand the candidates and issues involved.
For example, when it comes to changing our state's (SD's) constitution, I fear too many folks may rely on 30-second TV ads, often financed by monied out-of-state interests as their only source of information. I'm uncomfortable with that. On the other hand, to get a law passed, one must go to the legislature, testify in front of House and Senate committees and go through a much more rigorous process to get a law enacted.
I don't think I'm going against the grain here when I state that if one is planning to vote: good. Please take the time to be informed: it's your duty.
