I once filled out a written assessment of risk factors that determined your life expectancy. There were things such as seat belt use, eating habits, medical conditions, exercise, etc. I remember distinctly the one factor that had by far the biggest negative impact. It was: "Do you frequent bars and pick fights with strangers?".
My advice is to stay away from bars and picking fights with strangers and you'll probably live a much longer life!
That goes for anywhere you happen to be whether it's Minneapolis, Fargo, and my personal favorite, Memphis, Tennessee.

Congratulations to Chris Nilsen on being NUMBER ONE IN THE WORLD in pole vault competition this year!!
Quite possibly the best athlete ever to attend our university. Awesome; just awesome. Looking forward to see what heights he can conquer this year and throughout his career.
Go Chris and the same goes for your fellow Coyote teammates!

From my perspective as a former paperboy, the old logo looks like a dog that might want to bite me, but has no teeth. The new logo-dog looks like he would approach me if I called, but might not hear me as he/she appears to have no ears.
Like the new logo though.

Bring binoculars, throat lozenges, and above all wear your Coyote colors!
It's okay to live vicariously from time to time and this is one of those times.

Madeira Beach on Treasure Island is nice. Stayed there a few years ago. My favorite place on the Gulf is Ft. Myers Beach (although traffic can be a hassle). The Twins play in Ft. Myers and quite a few folks from our neck of the woods (um, prairie) travel down. I was hoping the softball team would play there, but again, not to be.
Two things I absolutely hate to hear are "root canal" and "artic cold front". I've had both lately and it's now time to enjoy some time in the sun. Go Coyotes! I'll be following you!

Notorious ? Ninja ? _____ Nine ? (guess that's already been suggested; everyone just fills in the blank as they see fit)
I need more coffee!

After thinking about this awhile, I prefer "Den" but like Denny or even, yes, Sanford (sports center) almost as well since the guy has given organizations in this state nearly a billion dollars over the years - after all, we are South Dakota. Mr. Sanford will likely be long gone before we see the end of sporting contests in the building but it could remain a testament to his legacy.
All things being equal, for some reason I like the term "Charlie", going back to our mascot Charlie the coyote (state animal) but I don't think it would resonate...
Of course, terms like the "old Armory" which was called the women's gym in my time (where many years before, we played big ten teams) and the "new Armory" are safely out of the picture. I might say, though, the new Armory was really a pit of destruction for any visiting team.

Eggnog is gross. Why ruin perfectly good booze by mixing it with that disgusting sludge? Clark Griswald disagrees.... With the mere mention of Clark Griswald, fellow poster Cousin Eddie might have something to say, maybe. Personally, I think with Tom & Yerrys (sorry, it's the Yogi Jorgensen in me I guess), you simply must have brandy or rum. As for eggnog, booze is optional. In any event, you folks living east river, you might want to stock up on either or both if you can. A storm is headed your way. It's been snowing here the past few hours. Stay warm and hydrated, friends. We don't want anybody cramping up.

You shoulda had another category. Something like: "Will watch the game but may the best team win". That's me.
I have interest but the winner for me is to just see a good game.

I like Augie, but am glad I'm not an alumnus. That's because down the road there are going to be some big hands trying to get into my back pocket!

Almost a week until the game, but I thought I'd start the thread, since there isn't much else going on in Coyote athletics (that interests me). Here is a link to the TigerBoard forum that will at some point contain their game thread: www.tigerboard.com/boards/list.php?board=3Looks like they have some discussion of WBB there, although it is in the "threaded" nested-outline style that is hard to follow (as opposed to "flat" style that most message boards use. Another ranked opponent, another big opportunity. They are 8-2 with losses to Green Bay (RPI 23) and Michigan (RPI 43). Their biggest wins were home tilts with Duke (RPI 46) and Quinnipiac (RPI 76). Thought I'd click on the Tigerboard forum just to see if any cat fans were commenting about their upcoming game with the Coyotes. Anybody else do that? I'd be better off trying to herd cats than to find out what they're stating about us. Guess I'm not an "Einstein" about how other fan boards are organized. Didn't think it would be so tough since ours is so easy!

Probably just me, but Devon Moore's commit pic (above) was one of the better ones I've seen. I know you can't judge success based merely on a photo, but he's already off to a great start in my opinion!

Smiled when I read your post wrj. Just trying to keep all those State fans that like to post on our board on their toes.
Good one!
