CF, hypothetical situation. If you were the AD, how would you do things different? If you were looking for a header what type are you looking for? What offense, defenses do you think would benefit the school? Is there certain types of things you are looking for? What decisions would you make to better the USD Football Program? I am not fishing here or setting you up for anything. I'm just courious.

I did not get to Verm this season to see the Yotes play. But with them playing up now I did get to see a few on TV. Out manned vs Nw, that's a given for me. But what stood out to me in the UNI game is that JVM looked scared in the pocket. Never really set up. 3rd or 5th step planted and then he took off. The staff that I'm on went down to visit the coaches during spring ball, we were very impressed with them all. We saw that in a few positions there could be some struggling, but we saw a 3-5 win team there. Being an alumni as well and even if my football career there was a whole one season back in the 90s, they need to sit down and regroup. Analyze film, make cuts if needed, get better at their duties and get the team going in ready for spring ball. Find those guys who can play and who's working hard to make sure a season like this doesn't happen again.

The high school staff that I am on went down and watched 2 practices on Friday and Saturday. All the coaches were great to talk to and very helpful and had ideas for us. The scrimidge was great and the O moved the ball pretty well. The D has some real dudes that can make plays too. I was excited to see them practice and see how campus has changed since I left in 99. The future looks good. I feel this next season could be a bit rough but the team is moving in the right direction. Yotes were playing hard.

I went and visited with Glow when he was still at USD and have traded a few e-mails with him now that he's at Simpson. He's a class act. He's knowledgeable and passionate about the game and wants to coach kids to get them better. I don't know if he's looking to go to the D1 level, but he's a solid coach and person.

Is the offense going to change under JG or stay the same? What did JG run while at No. Colo and Montana?

Ahhhh... speculation. You got to love it. Remember when Jerry Glanville was looking at going to Northern? Lets go with the run and shoot. Give up 40 but score 42.

Zook and Turner Gill are on the market now too. Gill has success at Buffalo and was in Lincoln. He knows the area and has won before. If he wants to be a header he's worth a look. I don't know what is coordinator experience is right of hand.

Caruso has a great gig here in the Twin Cities. He has a brand new athletic building, great alumni with $$$, and can get good kids to come there. He has St. Thomas ahead of St. Johns now and can continue to dominate at that level. The sun shines out his arse up here gentlemen. It would cost a lot and he'd want a lot of say to leave this top notch program up here.

It'll be interesting to see who's on the short list for this job. New conference, close rivals, and a AD who wants to win. I haven't been on campus for a while but how do/will the facilities stack up against the rest of the conference teams in the future?
