Mick must be on some kind of a mental vacation right now. After one of the biggest weeks of Coyote sports the argus chat is a no show last wednesday. The coverage has not been very good since the WNIT ended. Now an article that is supposed to be a joke. Let's have a little more than just that Mick. Well, it was followed up by "Coyote Prospect Hasn't Gone Away". He may need a break or vacation or something. What was wrong with that one? You know the writer doesn't create the headline right? The media commentary on here is nuts.

I know everyone says he is a really good recruiter but its interesting to me on how many people have passed on the guy? He didn't get the Iowa State job, USD passed, and not sure if this blog or the bunny board had an article on him almost getting the job at UW Milwaukee before being passed over. Maybe its simply the lack of head coaching experience but it seems really weird that over the past 2 years someone has not swiped him up including Iowa State where he has been working for 8 years. Why have so many places passed on him? He is pretty young. I wouldn't get too wrapped up in him getting passed up for other jobs yet. Let's see how this plays out. This hire seems to make sense. I want to know who he lands for assistants and what he does, if anything, to fill the 4 open scholarships they currently have. Maybe he will wait until next fall for that, however.

Oh, I don't disagree there. I personally think we had Bob pegged before the playoffs were over. We were prepared. However, we weren't able to start formal negotiations until then. Also, there were general formalities with the end of the season and material negotiations to go through. Regarding your comments about being sleazy, quite being a child. This is D-1. Put on your big boy pants and open your eyes. This is the real world of college athletics. There is a reason there are search firms, agents and lawyers. It will be fun to hear who SDSU hires on Spring Signing Day with 4 open scholarships and one LOI from a 285lb football player recovering from a knee injury. I think it's telling that when the words corrupt and sleazy are used to describe USD, that not only doesn't it bother you,but you wear it like a badge of honor. Also, It's become obvious to the BOR that USD can't compete under the same rules that SDSU has had to since becoming D1,so they changed them. The pressure is on now. If the yotes still suck at football and men's bb you'll be out of tricks. Time to put your big boy pants on and head back to DII? No. You throw around the words "sleazy" and "corrupt" with reckless abandon standing in your Ivory Tower. You guys are full of yourself and in denial. If it doesn't go your way or something good happens at USD, you cry (emphasis on cry) foul.

There wasn't an impending signing day in under a week and EVERYBODY's season wasn't over. Try again. We're talking about USD here. I seriously doubt you would let a minor detail like their season wasn't over stand in your way of making a deal. Try again. Oh, I don't disagree there. What's the deal with the rabbits here? It has been a couple of weeks, and I haven't heard anything (although I admit I haven't been looking). Are they close to making an announcement? It's been 7 days. As a comparison , it took USD over 3 weeks to announce they had stolen a Head coach from MVC mate Western Illinois. There wasn't an impending signing day in under a week and EVERYBODY's season wasn't over. Try again.

Williams was the first coach in program history at Rogers State if I'm remembering correctly. She has built a program from scratch but it certainly wasn't the one at USD. Right...and the comment from the Nebraska AD does not say it in reference to USD. That is what I am saying.

Yori was making nearly $750,000 a year. I would imagine that Amy will make $300k to $400k minimum easily and possibly $500k. I don't think she makes what Yori made until she proves she can win on that level. I have heard a number greater than this. I expected $500K, and still do, but I have heard more.

Somehow that quote about "from scratch" has been taken out of context.
Said Eichorst in a statement, "We are extremely fortunate and thrilled to have identified an exceptional person, coach and Nebraska women’s basketball alumna, Amy Williams to be our head women’s basketball coach. Amy is a very skilled and experienced basketball coach who has a track record of success both on and off the court and is an ideal fit for Nebraska. Amy has built a women’s basketball program from scratch into a national contender, led teams to conference championships, a NCAA Tournament appearance and won the 2016 WNIT championship. She has a proven vision, plan and knows how to recruit regionally, nationally and internationally which will translate very well to Nebraska."
I am pretty sure that Eichorst is referring to Rogers State.
Here is the line for her profile on OUR website:
In March of 2007, Williams was named the first head women's basketball coach at Rogers State University and built the program from scratch into an NAIA national contender. In five seasons at Rogers State, Williams recorded a 97-65 record. Last year, the Hillcats were 22-12 and advanced to the NAIA Final 8 for the first time in school history. She led the Hillcats to back-to-back NAIA national tournament appearances.
You aren't the first person to comment on this YF.

Can't wait to hear what she is getting paid. I have heard some big numbers thrown around, but no media sources to confirm them yet.

Would LOVE to see Chuck Love get a shot, no pun intended Agreed. I have heard great things. I have had one conversation with him last year but found him to be a very personable and classy guy.

CE, thanks for all the detailed info!!! Just makes me more excited for the season to get here! RB Calvin Strong... Any idea why he wasn't out there? Watched him destroy Creighton Prep two years ago in the Nebraska State Championship game. That kid is fast and strong. Was very excited when I saw we signed him out of high school. I think it is just really hard for a kid to come from an 18 year life of bad habits and to change dramatically over the course of under a year. That is pure speculation, however. Nothing concrete.
