Hold up a sec. Don't get too bogged down in this yet. This list is infinitely larger than we EVER had under the previous regime. It is a checklist and they work their board. Tons of the guys on this list, especially from FL, have offers from P5 schools and will never look at us. Regardless, we are trying and this is getting our name out there and in the discussions. Under the precious regime, we wouldn't see a number of names close to this until very late fall. These guys are pros in comparison. They are casting a wide net, aiming high and will continue to narrow the scope and will focus on players closer to home as the year progresses. They have offered a TON of Nebraska and KC guys. A welcome change. WI and MN are getting hit well and you could see that we were able to close there back in February. To me, the way these guys are handling recruiting makes the previous gang look like a D2 staff. I love Joe Glenn, but this is another level. If you say this is better I believe you as you are our version of Mel Kiper Jr. on the football recruiting board. I did like what we were able to get out of Okie. Do you see recruiting efforts continuing there? We're already down in MO, might as well recruit KS and Okie while we're there. Better watch out with the bolded part, CF will be around soon enough to remind you that our previous staff was D2 with the exception of Joe. I totally agree on OK. I wish I had an answer there, but I don't. It takes time to build relationships and when those relationships leave with other coaches, they are hard to retain. What I liked about OK was that there weren't any other FCS schools in the area, so the talent was ripe for the picking. Our best bet would be to build some chemistry with the OK players on the roster and then use those to form new relationships. I definitely see OK as a more realistic area to restore than CO - simply because of the geographic efficiency you alluded to. Maybe Coach O'Boyle has a connection from his Chadron and Colorado Mesa days, however. One thing to note with FL - this is all the work of Coach Ockinga. He has GREAT connections down there.

We are casting a seriously wide net but I do notice some trends, and frankly, have some concerns. Many offers out in Florida, too many for my liking. Would like to see us get a little more Midwestern in our recruiting and supplement with talent from Florida like we have done in the past. We had opened up some roads in Oklahoma and Colorado the last few years and don't see too many offers coming out of rather. Would like to see us continue working Oklahoma, some good football there, and as long as we are passing through Kansas should be recruited. Nebraska and Iowa need to be recruiting priorities. New staff and they have different recruiting connections, so I get that recruiting is going to go in a different direction. Hold up a sec. Don't get too bogged down in this yet. obviously it is early, but seeing some rumblings of Ryan Miller to SDSU. I think we had some interest when we were in the market for a new coach. Did he make USD short list? I don't know how legitimate he was as a candidate, but there was definitely somebody on here that was connected to him and indicated that he was interested in the job. Likewise, there is a similar person on the SDSU board making noise that he is interested in the SDSU job. I have no idea what his coaching ability is, but I know that he is widely considered a top notch recruiter. He played a big part in UNLV landing their highly ranked class. Hell, all he needs to do is say "I was an assistant with Coach Cal in Memphis" and he should be able to get a meeting with any recruit. Even though I would be nervous about the caliber of players he would draw to SDSU, I wouldn't lose sleep over Miller being named. I am not confident that he is the complete package. Personally, I would be much more concerned if they hired TJ from ISU.

jackl--We'll see if you're still laughing in the fall!! And I bet the wrabbits have hundreds of perspective BB coaches lined up in Brooktown for your opening!! How are you handling crowd control??? I'll be laughing my ass off, like I do every football season we play you. I'll be laughing a little bit harder now that we have the new digs. And considering we already have coaches that are pretty good throwing their hats in the ring, I think we'll be just fine. Next year will most likely be rough sailing with a new staff and the losses from this year, but I'd wager we still do better than the yotes. Thanks for the concern however. And those candidates that have actually thrown their hat in the ring are? ? I have little doubt you will get a good coach, but that comment was a bit misleading.

Here is the timeline for hiring a new coach, at least for recruiting purposes: Spring NLI Dates: Basketball (Regular Period) April 13, 2016 (start) Division I: May 18, 2016 (end) Open scholarships at SDSU right now: 4 + 1 verbal commit from a 6'8" 285 F. ***I will acknowledge that for transfers it is a different story.

FWIW, there have been comments on my Nebraksa boards for a week about how Nebraska should be reaching out to Daum to address their lack of a big man. This was before the Nagy news. Nothing substantive at all, but people are clearly aware of him.

I am sure the new guy won't require a multiyear contract… Are you trying to be funny? Based on the likes and PMs I have received from the comment, I think everybody has taken it that way. You mad, bro? You should consider changing your signature on the Bunny Board to "Fear Daum no more!"

Be on the lookout for the Nebraska job to open up. Both Amy and AJ may be looked at.

Wrong again. Jacks. Yotes First round - 1812. 1960 Round of 16- 3320. 2433 Round of 8- 3792. 2749 As far as your crowd of 7000, how many free tickets are giving away? This is so interesting, but you didn't finish. Please update the Final 4 and Championship rounds... That would be 5000 and 7400!
