If USD can stop NDSU’s rushing attack early, that will be a big key. because that opens up Ndsu’s entire playbook. I’m also interested in coyotes nervousness (too excited so to speak). NDSU has played at Montana St & SDSU & US Bank with 20-25,000 at each. Whereas coyotes biggest crowd is at NDSU What? You think the Yotes will be nervous playing in front of a home crowd? NDSU hasn't played particularly well in any of their "big" games this year. Lost on homecoming. Got blown out in Brookings. Snuck by an overrated MSU team. I think what he’s trying to say is if USD has doubts because of the NDSU tradition and mystique. The Bison are a very confident team. Their resume indicates who they are. I’ll be first to admit in prior years when we played in the playoffs or NDSU or SDSU I was “hoping” we’d play well and sneak out a win. This team is different. We won’t lose because our guys are intimidated. If we lose it will simply be because the Bison are a better team. We’ve narrowed the gap and it keeps narrowing. If we win it will be because we’re the better team ( which I think we are ). It’s going to be an old fashioned “slobber knocker”. Who’s tougher? Who’s standing at the end of 60 minutes? If we’re fortunate enough to win, then we get next up. Whomever that is. Polls say Montana. FURMAN might have something to say about that. In either case, what a run it’s been. This team is different. They know they aren’t dominate but they know they won’t be dominated. PLEASE BE LOUD AND BOISTEROUS SATURDAY. That will add fuel to the fire.

Interesting fact on 78 team. 3 draft picks. Schwab to Packers. Ben Long to Miami. Bill Moats as a punter to Packers. And that was the D-2 era

No, the QB was Scott Pollock. Tim played wide receiver that year and became the qb the following year, the first season played in the Dome. Beanies other son Pat was a starting LB. Fun day fun year but that’s in the past. It’s time to turn all our attention to Saturdays game.
Going to be a great game. Tough to beat a good team twice, but that said, this team is different. They’re resilient. A VERY LOUD Dome will go a long ways in the results of this game. LOUD ALL THE TIME. That’s new for us. Typically only loud when things happen to create stir. I’ve said this in years past, the absolute toughest venue in the league to play at is the FargoDome. We need to create that same environment.
What a great opportunity that lies in front of us.

I didn’t watch it. I played in it. lol The game was in Omaha. There never has been a network game originate from Vermillion as far as I know. Cool. I graduated 2 years before (1977) and probably watched you play. I knew several of your teammates. Damned we're old. We are. SUX

Didn’t someone post the other day that USD played at SDSU on ABC once back in the 80’s? I swear I saw that somewhere. I haven't seen that posted here. On here someone posted that USD hosted SDSU on ABC, perhaps in 1969 coinciding with the 100th anniversary of college football, but I can't find evidence that this happened in 1969 (checked TV listings in Texas, Maine, Florida newspapers and Cal-UCLA was the only game listed). USD played Nebraska / Omaha in 1978 on ABC. For the NCC Championship I do have evidence that these teams played on ABC in 1978, per an old UNO football media guide, but I am guessing it was in Omaha if it was for the NCC Championship. Correct me if I'm wrong, I know you were at home watching that one . I never would have guessed that was something that happened. I still can't find any evidence that there has ever been a network TV broadcast from Vermillion. I am a history nerd and would be very interested to hear of a past example, at Inman or the Dome. As far as I can tell that history will be made on Saturday. I didn’t watch it. I played in it. lol The game was in Omaha. There never has been a network game originate from Vermillion as far as I know.

As always, to err is human, but it takes a computer to really foul things up. This sounds like a mess. If I buy tickets tomorrow I sure would like to know that I HAVE tickets. Reading all these posts, I think I'll watch it on TV. At least then I know I have a seat. Sent you a message
