I heard we signed a 4 year home/home contract with Eastern Illinois. Don't know where the first game will be.
Does anybody know when NDSU is supposed to give us a return? Hope it is next year, since they are going to be a conference game now that contract is kaput.
Our 2011 FBS games are Air Force and Wisconsin if I remember correctly and I believe we have Northwestern in 2012.
Is Lamar making a return trip in 2011?
Anything else anybody can add about our 2011 schedule and beyond?

I read on someone elses board that we are suppoed to be playing Illinois State next year at home. Not sure if that is correct or not. And yes, as I understand it, LaMar is coming to Vermillion in 2011.
I am also of the opinion we are hosting the Bison as well.
(all of what I have written is I have either seen on other boards, or heard it from someone inside USD)

The Bison were scheduled to be here in 2013 and us back up there in 2014. Since we will be in conference then I wonder if their 2011 schedule has any opportunities to allow for altering that so they can come down here. In essence we just gave them a game up there in 2010 with no return and no payment to us.

Per Illinois State website, the Yotes play at Illinois State on 10/15/11.

So other than Lamar do we have any other home games next season? I assume SUU and UCDavis are also home games.
Home: SUU, UCD, Lamar Away: Air Force, Wisconsin, UND, CalPoly, IllSt

I assume we owe Northern Colorado a return trip. Any idea if that is also a road game for 2011? I know we have traveled to Montana State for 2008 & 2009. Any chance they travel to Vermillion next year?

This is what I was thinking the USD FB schedule would look like in 2011:
road Western Illinois Illinois State UND Poly Wisconsin Air Force
Home UC Davis SUU Lamar Augie or USF + game yet to be determined

Augie or USF? I don't think so. Was told the discussion is going on. They are struggling to get a home game. They are even talking to a D2 in ND somewhere? Not a great Home slate of games.

The schedule already doesn't look good for success. There are probably only going to be 7 total FCS games with 4 of them being on the road. As far as D1 games 6 of the 9 will be on the road as well. For a 4th year into transition this is gonna be one ugly home schedule. The MVFC couldn't come soon enough.
This is the downside of the tradeoff of scheduling two paydal games against FBS opponents. I am not saying what was done was right or wrong but home and home's with FCS teams could have results in one or two good home games.
It's either play an FBS on the road and a D2 at home or An FCS on the road and the same school at home the next year or visa-versa.

Coyote Fan,
You do realize with the schedule that USD could still work out a home and home with FCS teams. They prolly just don't want to play right now honestly. They might have other games schedule for the next two years out. This is what happens when you only have a five-team conference. A ton of holes to fill.

Just for the sake of argument.... I would bet USF would out-draw Augie at the Dome.
