I really like this tweet.
Congrats to @sdcoyotesmbb on a great hire. @coachsmith_Neb right guy at the right time. Won't take short cuts and will do it with integrity.

Coach Smith sounds like a quality individual and he has a wealth of coaching experience! I couldn't be happier!

Smith to be paid $185,000 dollars according to Herbster. I did hear Coach Smith talk about the players having to help with basketball camps. I wonder if he will make extra from these camps.

This man is going to do great things for us. I have no doubt that we chose the right candidate. I am so excited for basketball to start again!

Craig absolutely blew me away today at his press conference. I appreciated how he said the players sill earn their degrees and how they will be leaders in the community.

Congrats on the hire of Coach Smith, an absolute home run hire. Good for USD, I thought James was a great guy and certainly down the road could be a great coach but this move and hire shows me that USD is ready to win.
Congrats Yotes

I hope we can hang on to him for a while, at least long enough to create a culture of winning a couple years into the new arena.

This is the type of response I like to see from the players:
USD sophomore guard Casey Kasperbauer (to JH): Craig Smith is "exactly what we need at this time in this program."

I believe he will be worth every penny of that 185k. People will be outraged and hesitant about paying big bucks for a long time if he flops, but I'm not concerned about that. I really wonder what kind of coaching staff he is going to get put together. Surely Lloyd Williams will find a spot on the staff, that was probably one of the terms of employment.

I can't believe I missed this in my previous post - I was very excited by Smith's enthusiasm. This is going to be fun ride, especially with a facility on the way.

Looks like there's a few miffed State fans out there, at least the ones who recognize the implications of this hire. Too soon to say, but Craig Smith may instantly be the top coach in the Summit.
