I am watching on Direct TV. A defensive oriented game so far with USD maybe a hair lucky to be down only 7-3. If I were the Yotes I would really work on the running game in the 3rd quarter. A very winnable game, now lets go out and take this one.

Montana up 14-10 in 3rd quarter. Our kicking game is, let's say, not good.

I'm going to sum this game up in two words: quarterback play. I know Saeger is a young'un and has been thrust onto the scene, probably before he was ready, but if Earl is healthy and was the QB for this Montana game I think we would have won.
Perfectly aware the game is not over and time is still elf ton the clock.

Well, kind of the same old same old. You know what I mean.
Montana is way overrated. They will be lucky to come within 24 of the prairie buffalos.
I thought the Yotes would score more.
OMG a Yote TD.

So was it a valiant effort? If it was I am tired of them.

If i'm a Montana fan I would not waste my money traveling to Fargo.

I do agree that Montana is overrated, at least on offense. Their defense seems very solid though. Going forward it will be interesting how SD stacks up defensively against who they will play. As far as the trip to Fargo, I predict an ugly one for the Griz. As far as this season goes I believe the N Arizona game will be a must win for the Yotes realistic chances for a good season.

317-334 advantage in total yards for Montana so the Yotes didn't get outgained by much at all. I really don't know how to feel about the game, the effort etc. I guess I will let others decide that and hopefully post those thoughts.

Same mistakes we have seen for a long time. Really bad penalties and even worse special teams punts and kickoffs. Four punts averaging 24 yds?..... One of them was like 8 yds?... Unacceptable. Montana's avg starting field position was a huge advantage for them. Defense hung in there, but they still are getting driven off the ball at the point of attack. (That will come back to really hurt is in conference play unless it improves). The fumble at the end was bad but it was on a huge effort play by Sanders working for more yards. The interceptions were actually better than two of our punts....
I know you can look back and say, "Well we only lost by 8 to a top 5 team on the road." If these things are not corrected it will be hard to win many if any games with as good as the MVFC is. Montana looked like a middling MVFC team at best to me. The Valley schedule will be tougher than Montana was tonight. Northern AZ is a must win game for the Yotes.

Also if I was betting, I would say NDSU will beat Montana by at least three touchdowns - could be more.

Also if I was betting, I would say NDSU will beat Montana by at least three touchdowns - could be more. I agree that I think it will get ugly for the Griz in Fargo. Montana isn't good enough on offense to do much damage in Fargo IMO. I think 35-7 is a fairly accurate outlook for Montana. When push comes to shove the defense will be the achilles heel for the Yotes especially in the secondary. I think Montana could have done alot more through the air but to their credit they were having success running in the second half and had the lead so why pass too much, I guess. How we should react to this loss (and I am really struggling to figure that out) should perhaps be based on how good we think Montana truly is.
