Back from the long trip to Vermillion to see the Coyotes defeat Northern Arizona. Not much to share in terms of any takeaways. Great weather and pre-game atmosphere; good game; mediocre crowd (at least in some ways).
I kept thinking that the one player we don't seem to have that would make a big difference is a wide receiver that can get open consistently. Kind of like #8 for the 'jacks and, what was it - #7 for the Griz? (the guy that killed us last year). My biggest concern on defense was stopping the run, which we did to a great extent and which made our pass defense all the better.
It's interesting how the Coyotes appeared to lose focus and thus, confidence at the start of the third quarter. Imagine coming out of the locker room all pumped up and half the student body has disappeared plus a sizeable number of others in the stands. Can't be good. I wonder where these folks that leave at halftime go? I suggest someone on this board who lives in the area tail this bunch of dropouts, take copious notes (the only kind) and report findings. If not that, it might at least make an interesting article for one of the area newspapers, should there be a reporter interested in some investigative work.
Okay, I'm less than serious about this suggestion, but it does bear some study and rectification. Maybe as a last resort someone could get creative with super glue, if you know what I mean.
Go get 'em Coyotes!! You're better than you think!!

...Following the results of the MVFC so far this season the Valley is just that much better than the rest of the FCS this year. It is going to be a grind and for whichever teams finish in the second half of the Valley standings, well, that is not an adequate reflection of how good of a FCS football team they really are in the grand scheme. Bottom division MVFC teams would contend for titles in other conferences.[/b] True statement. I think the Big Sky is okay this year: maybe not its strongest year but certainly not its weakest. But the Valley is dominating the Win/Loss ratio with the Big Sky -- arguably the Valley is the toughest its ever been (certainly provable by OCC games this year). This should be the year in which the playoff selection committee recognizes the irrefutable proof and selects the most Valley teams to ever make the playoffs. We can do the same in Summit basketball.

Any word on an injury to Jasper Sanders? Glenn said on his radio show that he had a bruised AC joint and would not miss any games.

[/quote] I was at the NDSU/Montana game, and I an assure all that Montana is not as good as billed. (No disrespect to USD; you have a good coach and are still rebuilding.) SDSU would also school those guys. If that is the class of the BigSky, MVFC should have a good playoff year.
