Hey houndswg, you're the one that came here puffing out your chest bragging how Purdue had to keep in their starters until the 4th quarter. Why I'm not sure because they were ahead of you 28-0 in the first half. And quite frankly Purdue sucks. This years Purdue team couldn't beat the Minnesota team we beat a few years ago. NDSU beat Iowa State, SDSU played a highly ranked Missouri team much better than your effort against Purdue. Hell we had nearly 400 yards offense against #2 Oregon. I'm not underestimating your team. I respect SIU but not for their effort against frickin Purdue. You have a successful history, with a solid head coach. But don't underestimate USD. Your fortunate you aren't having to face our starting QB. Even at that, I say the game is decided by 7 points or less either way. hell, you should put 650/700 on us then. I'm not real clear where you're going with the NDSU and SDSU bit though? Is it a Dakota thing? If we had our starting QB we might just hang 650 on you. Hell, we might anyway. Regarding the NDSU/SDSU comment, I'm just saying their performance was a hell of a lot better than yours against FBS schools. Hell, our performance against Oregon was better than yours. You puffed out your chest like being within 28 at half against the worst team in the Big 10 was the feat of the year. I'm not sure how to say this so it soaks in for you but I'll try one more time...slowly P...u...r...d...u...e S...u...c...k...s

Is that a "yes, Yotes by two or three scores over Purdue"? What's with all the butthurt, bubba? I say I think we can throw on you and you catch the vapors and start bleating about no respect. smh. Who has the butthurt? All I said Purdue sucks. I say we play them closer than you. You got your a$$ handed to you. It was over at half. Regarding vapor, I saw vapor at Oregon. I highly doubt I'll see it in Carbondale. You keep talking about how good you are and how good we aren't but then you keep walking back from your smack talk by calling for a one score game. I mean, heck you put up 400 yards on Oregon and we looked bad against a chump like Purdue. If you aren't just a small dog yipping you'll call the Yotes by 14-17.

So your excuse is the backup QB if the unthinkable happens and you get upset by SIU?

Your posts seem to only have the intention of eliciting negative responses from us. It's borderline smack. You brag about being down 28-0 to Purdue at halftime, someone says Purdue is terrible, and you assume that we are a fanbase lobbying for their spot in the Big Ten or something.

I think we've heard enough out of houndawg. Come Saturday, all his comments will seem pretty funny.
As for the game, I just have one of those feelings. Maybe it's coming off a bye week or maybe its the start of our conference schedule, but it just seems like we are going to go out there and play the best football we have yet. This is a very winnable ball game, and I think our guys believe it too. SIU is going to walk in with their chests puffed out and we're gonna get up on em by 2 scores before they decide to play. It will be close, but I think the coyotes got this one.

I come here and say that I think we can throw on you but we might be overrated. You immediately succumb to the vapors and start bleating about puffing my chest out and trying to rally the troops... er, troop, against the intruder. What a Richard. Now its true Purdue is a bad Big 10 team, but they're better than USD, and they couldn't cover Pruitt; how are you going to do it?

Watch party at Beef's North in Sioux Falls this Saturday starting at 5:30 p.m. Kick-off is at 6:00 p.m. We had a great crowd for the Oregon game and a decent crowd for the Montana game. Given this game isn't broadcast on Midco, I'm guessing there will be another good turnout this weekend.

ps - Horndog, your board only has 659 members, ours has nearly double that. The troops here can count and don't worry, they're rallied already.

Well when your first post on the board mentions USD being a contender for last place in the conference, your askin for it. I'm sorry your board isn't interesting enough for you, but your not gonna make too many friends around the league acting like that on other peoples forums. As for your question about how we are gonna stop Pruitt. Best answer I can figure is, we probably won't. Nobody is going to shut down a player like that. I do think we can slow him down a bit by shifting coverages to him and keeping plenty of pressure on the QB, but at the end of the day he will get his touches. But we won't get beat by one player. But if you want to play that game, how are you going to stop Bouma and Sanders on the ground? We averaged 4.5 yds a carry against the Oregon Ducks, maybe not the best defense in the country, but definitely one of the fastest and a lot better than SIU.

You're taking something personal that wasn't meant that way, and happens to be the majority opinion around the MVC, although as I said, we may be overrated; so might MSU, ISU, and YSU. I don't know if we'll stop the run or not, but if we do you're in trouble. I think that obviously both teams come in to stop the run first, I also think that if both teams succeed that SIU has the advantage through the air. I don't see why having an opinion like that should cause you get all histrionic, I think its a valid position. You don't hear me complaining about you mistaking excellent halftime adjustments for for a WIU collapse.

As a someone who goes to USD, but grew up watching SIU, this matchup is a dream come true. Flying back home to Sparta, IL (bout 45 minutes north of the dirty dale), and will be supporting the yotes tomorrow night. This game will be a tough one, I will give it to the SIU faithful, I've seen it first hand. They love their football, and their home atmosphere has got to be one of the best in the MVFC, but I agree with what everyone's been eluding too earlier in that if we contain their offense, and Seager steps up even more, this could be a big weekend for the Yotes. Hope everyone back home enjoys the game, and for those who are making the trek to Carbondale we'll see y'all tomorrow!

I don't know anybody here who sees the game as a gimmee - in fact given what lies ahead schedule-wise this one is a near must win and I don't think the Dawgs are taking it at all lightly. Btw, I'll be there in possession of some very fine bourbon if you'd care for a snort.

You don't hear me complaining about you mistaking excellent halftime adjustments for for a WIU collapse. Not taking anything personally. I will admit you could have a point about the halftime adjustments. I was only going off of box scores and articles. If you were at the game, you would know better than I would what happened. And even if that is the majority opinion around the league, your not going to find too many people that agree with you on here. NOT SPEAKING FOR EVERYONE but I certainly don't share the opinion that three teams we beat with a down team last year should all be viewed as better than we are.
