I just dropped out of the live 'stream'. It was terrible and very aggravating. Kind of like the performance of the Yotes in the 2nd half. I agree with OBC, the special team play is just killing us. When was the last time the Yotes had a decent kick off return?
Very disappointing to say the least!

I couldn't get the stream and now I'm glad I didn't. We aren't good enough talent wise not go come ready to play 60 minutes. Our special teams suck. Period. This is not acceptable. However, we will bounce back and get ready for UNI because a Joe Glen coached team never quits. Never

Our last victory in a game played outside was against Minnesota in 2010. I am so sick of this. And I know we will hear a lot of "well if Earl was healthy, it would have been a totally different game etc etc.". Unless USD figures out KO and Punt, Earl won't be able to overcome that. The margin of error in the MVFC is too narrow to expect to overcome those deficiencies.
For comparison sake - How can WIU and INDIANA St play so well against NDSU and UNI after being awful last year, and yet we get blown out against SIU? We have enough talent - every bit as talented as those two teams yet are not getting it done. This needs to change and change soon.

Yes this is disappointing. But maybe it's just the nature of the MVFC. SDSU got drilled today. UNI lost. NDSU had a hard time with WIU.
Maybe it's as simple as winning on the road is tough and the Valley is a bear.
Definitely not happy and hoping for more next weekend.

I just got back from the game Game balls for the yotes: offense, #3. A very slippery RB that got hit at or behind the line several times and still got positive yardage. defense: #28. USD would contend for the OVC title but have the misfortune to compete this year in probably the strongest MVC ever. Lots of good football players, but a little behind at the skill positions comparatively.

Good luck the balance of the season.

I got a thumbs up from me because I have fat fingers. Well, the sun came up, Saturday is Dakota day, and the UNI kitty kats come to town. 3-3 would be acceptable. A lot of fun ahead. We will rally. We will play hard.

Even high quality teams have a game or half a game like that occassionally. Just ask the Denver Broncos about the last Super Bowl. Saturday is history so back to real, four quarters Coyote football!!

We'd be a trap game for them if it were in Carbondale, but in Fargo on their Homecoming.....ouch. Good luck to USD against UNI, looks like they're ripe for the picking.... .

1. 75 yard kick off against 2. Delay of game in punt formation ( not intentional) 3. We blocked a kick at 35 but recovered 10 yards back at 25. Is it a live ball in college? Or is this a Leon lett recovery. 4. The ground ball kick after our TD 5. Opening kickoff 2nd half 6. Punt from 35 yes line for touchback 7. 3 yrd punt 8. 3 USD returns all day include 17 yrd, 13 yrd and 16 yrd which included a holding penalty.
I realize some r nitpicking but they are all considered fails.

I realize some r nitpicking but they are all considered fails. The only play that I will contest with you and obc is #4, the ground ball kick after the TD. SIU was charged with unsportsmanlike conduct on our TD. The penalty was assessed on the kickoff. There was under a minute remaining. I believe it was a smart gamble to try for the onside kick in that situation. In addition to the fact that there wasn't much time for SUI to march down the field, due to the penalty, the risk of a return by SUI was pretty minimal. Had we recovered, we would have only had 50 yards to go for a TD and about 25 for a FG to end the half. At that time our defense was playing pretty well and we had actually sustained a drive to get the TD, so they should have been fresh if SUI recovered. It was a calculated risk, in my opinion. Other than that, I think you are spot on above.

Additionally, here is a breakdown of our Field Position Advantage (or in this case, disadvantage) for the year: Oregon -5 William Penn even Montana -17 Northern Arizona -12 Southern Illinois -10 Not once have we won the field position battle and that is a strong reflection of Special Teams play. Amazing we kept the Montana close when their average starting field position was their own 43 yard line. Granted, they did miss three field goals.
